A friend of mine overheard a conversation on homosexuality and transgenderism between to elderly men...one man said “this is all our fault” (meaning their generation). The other asked “why do you say that?” The man answered “because what one generation tolerates, the next embraces.” Very true.

Sadly, two elderly men might feel the same way about interracial marriage or outlawing slavery.

Hmmm. That same generation tolerated racism but the next generation didn't embrace that. So it's a good phrase for a fortune cookie but has no relationship to the real world.

That is uncommonly humble. In my observations, people from that generation do not recognize the consequences of their choices as parents produced the fruit they see now as grandparents and great-grandparents. "Kids these days" didn't learn from their parents, because their parents didn't learn from the now-grandparents.

As a guy who came from a very poor household I can say this man speaks the truth! When you give people everything they will strive for nothing! Their minds will not hunger for wealth, or spiritual strength. It was only after I started reading scripture that I started to love life again. I now want a family and a full and abundant life! God bless!

    Hurts.
    But gives direction.
Focus on personal sanctification while maintaining opposition to worldy practices.
    Both is required.
We can not excuse our behavior while mainting unforgiveness toward our enemy. We can't have a righteousness indignation without having such an indignation towards our own sin.

In Brutus’ view, the power of the court is “supreme and uncontrollable” because it is their purview to determine “what the Constitution means.” As a result, Brutus reasoned that the judgements of the judiciary would become the basis of rules guiding the legislature in the execution of their role. From what I Am hearing, you are taking each individual scripture and you are giving each scripture it’s own context outside of the context of the entire chapter. With that form of compression I can make the Genesis chapter 1 sound like YHWH-ELOHIM made the water on the earth for the fish solely 😂 this is what I am gathering at 6:56. Theological question:
Did St Paul’s spoken words have the same inerrancy as his written words?
What about his thoughts? Were his thoughts the same as the thoughts of God?
That cant be right, because that would make him God incarnate.
But, if his thoughts werent the same as Gods thoughts, then how can the words which document those thoughts be the thought words of God?

    • @ogendad1166
      @ogendad1166 Před 2 lety +2

Can a man think a thought that is Godly and then think a thought that is evil? The Bible speaks of it's self as alive and not just dead print. Hebrews 4:12.

“For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” -II Peter 1:21
"Consider also that our Lord’s patience brings salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom God gave him. 16He writes this way in all his letters, speaking in them about such matters. Some parts of his letters are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. 17Therefore, beloved, since you already know these things, be on your guard so that you will not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure standing..." II Peter 3:15-17
On the second passage Peter talks about Paul's letters as Scripture, even as the Canon was yet unfinished. But as the first passage I shared above, it was Paul who wrote it under the superintendence of the Holy Spirit. 📖💗🙏

There's nothing in the Sodom story that would suggest that these were homosexuals surrounding Lot's house. After all everyone from the city surrounded that house. Everyone young and old. You're telling me everyone who lived in that city was male? Not only that, but they were all homosexual too? Doesn't make any sense. Even further, if this was an all male homosexual city, which is highly unlikely, Lot would not have offered his daughters to them. Are you guys just ignoring these details?
What this sounds like to me is a case of taking a story that has potential homosexual rape in it and usimg that potential homosexual rape to determine whether or not homosexual love is acceptable. Would one use heterosexual rape to determine whether or not heterosexual love is acceptable? If the answer to that question is no, then it shouldn't be used in that manner in the Sodom story either. Unfortunately, it's continuously done every time the story is told.
