    Odd horn, but I kinda like it. Needs to be louder

    • @ncard00
      @ncard00 Před rokem +3

      It’s just a horn, and the shape of the coaches thing is cause of the tilting. It’s a machine, not a work of art, doesn’t matter how it looks, only about how fast you can move people from A to B, and this train is stupid for the ENC anyway, cause of the low average speed with all the curves, acceleration should’ve been the priority over top speed, and tilting is just and excuse for not upgrading the tracks.

    • @91_C4_FL
      @91_C4_FL Před rokem +1

      @@ncard00 They still should have flared out the locomotive body to match the coaches. I can see you're a function over form person. There has to be aerodynamic drag on those bits that hang out on the sides.

      Because it's basically a next generationn TGV, except it's coaches are tilting coaches for old upgraded conventional railways, like the NEC. That's why the Swedish ABB X-2000 really shined on the NEC...

    These trainsets are wasted on the antiquated American rail infrastructure. We're still running diesel engines on electrified lines, and running HSTs on train lines that are woefully lacking in voltage and can't support speeds greater than 100 mph (160 km/h).
    It'll take a lot of bipartisan support and $$, but the rail infrastructure is long overdue for an overhaul. We need dedicated HSLs and upgrade the existing lines to support faster speed.

      They would have to build a new monorail or elevated trans-American high-speed rail New York to Oregon. As you stated, only certain parts on the current system has been designed for a few long straightaways on which these trains can actually get up to speed... Continuous high-speed, even with these articulating tgv, are not possible...
