I have decided that the year of 2024 is the year I start backpacking as a hobby. I currently know very little about it so I’m looking forward to learning as I go.
Great video as always 👍 If you want a ‘grippy’ trainer, Scarpa Ribelle Run. Not just the grip, but also comfort, after almost 20 years of wearing various salomons, i can safely say for me anyway, nothing compares to Scarpa. The Rush 2 GTX also, phenomenal grip and comfort. I wont go past Scarpa now

A few of the other You Tube channels I subscribe to are stopping their reviews which you mentioned. I think that’s a little sad, it’s good for people like me to hear your honest opinions on items that may help us make a decision on whether to buy it or not. So keep up the good work Andy and I hope your 2024 is a really good one. I am looking forward to following your adventures and your product reviews.
Cheers. I think it’s because they don’t generate as much money. That’s not what I’m about so it doesn’t bother me, I’d rather put together helpful videos to assist people’s buying decisions.
I don’t see much on base layer clothing pro and cons of various materials etc. is for instance Marino wool as good as suggested is there alternatives? Just an idea The other thing which doesn’t get a real testing seems to be particularly Robens tents. I’ve a lodge 3 pro and can’t think of a better 3 man tent. I really feel their tent ranges seem pretty good and over looked by many YTers. You asked. Ultra lightweight is fine but in reality are they needed as mush as promoted or is a more durable tent better for 90% of us.

Nice one Andy, having done what I refer to as big camping for 50+ years, I only got into Wild camping / backpacking two years ago, just me & dog & has been quite a learning curve, about surviving with just what's on my back, collecting & testing the various kit that I've gathered... Most of it's budget priced gear, but been really pleased with it all & now feel quite confident that I have everything I need for all conditions & seasons...✔️ But then I'll always see something else that I think could be useful, better, or I just like it...!🤔😄 My living room looks much like yours at the moment, full of kit...!🤣 Best wishes for 24...!👍🙏

Nice to see u back. I’ve bought a fjallraven abisko shape 2 - first winter camp a few weeks ago -5, 40mph winds snow and Hail. Didnt budge. Tons of space. Absolute quality tent and light for the size. Highly recommend it
Hi Andy, you mention a jacket comparison in the video, I'm really keen to see the Rab Microlight compared to the Alpkit Halogen. Both are without hoods and have similar spec and pricing levels.
I’m all for tent options other than the overrated Durston and stupidly expensive Hillebergs! That’s all these other outdoor CZcamsrs bang on about, it’s been done to death and rammed down our throats. I unsubscribed from so many outdoor channels now as the advice is getting worse and worse. As somebody who has spent decades ‘Wild camping’ I cringe at these other channels. Good luck for this year and look forward to your videos 👍

I’ve been looking at those for months, they’re in the sale too at the moment. My only issue is the amount of see-through mesh.

Love the flex capacitor from sierra designs, I’ve the 60-75 great pack but massive and I’ve the 25-40 too which is awesome
