- Tune M1 Truck Camper Roof Rack on Chevy Colorado ZR2. In today's video, we install an inexpensive roof rack system to see if it will work for us. We mentioned in the video that the hammer nuts that came in from Amazon were not small enough to fit in the t-track channels of the Tune Camper. The specs of the track require a hammer nut that is less than 5.7mm tall, and the hammer nuts from Amazon came in at anywhere between 6.2-6.5mm tall. Fortunately, we were able to grind a few down to fit in the channel.

Have you popped up the tent with gear on the rack? Any issues with the additional weight when opening up the tent? Love the videos on the Tune and Baja!
Thanks for watching! We haven't opened it up with anything up there yet. I may beef up the gas struts before a surf trip. I'll be putting a 25 pound fly rod holder on next week and that should give me an idea of how it changes it.
Great video, thanks for sharing! I have a Tune M1 just like yours and was looking for a rack solution, this seems to be it! Question: I have the fan as well. Do you have enough width to fit your surfboard up there between the edge of the bars and the fan? It doesn't look like the bars raise above the fan, but maybe they do?
Thanks for watching! I haven't put my boards up there yet but I dint think it's going to be an issue. I'm pretty sure I measured at one point and felt good about it. I'll share when I finally get around to trying. They better fit or I'll have to figure something out.

If you hear a loud humming or whistle you’ll have to put a rubber gasket on the bottom of your racks

What bolts did you buy to go with your hammer nuts (length?thread?) to mount it down into the track of the Tune M1? Repeating your build on my tacoma.

Looks great. I wonder if you might comment on why you decided to go with the no window option near the cab and near the tailgate? Was it mostly for security and the cost/weight savings? Thank you.
Definitely all of the above, but mostly for security. The glass looks REALLY nice, but we like the security of passersby not being able to see everything we have in there. Thanks for watching!
