Yesss small business affinity is my first (and for now, my only) Chanel bag. I love it to bits! It’s brilliant, fits reasonable amount, don’t have to dig for things, can go casual and formal. I’d love to get another one in lighter colour, mine is the classic black. 💕

I own the Chanel Business Affinity and it's so light weight, holds my wallet, keys, makeup and my pixel XL. I'm so glad the SA showed it to me, I had no idea it existed and it's totally my favorite bag.

I am confused. Who in the world, could not see immediately that a mini bag would not fit a good many mobile phones. In fact, it does not even appear to be suitable for much more than a credit card, a key/remote and lipstick. That, in my opinion, is not an issue with the bag but with the person who bought it with the expectation that it would carry the same size and amount as the medium.
Always try my phone and my wallet into a bag before I consider buying. Those 2 items must fit or it is a no.

I have a newer Lady Dior from 2020, and they actually have two layers of leather forming the structure now. Mine hasn't gotten as much use as Sophie's, but I hope this change means that twisting won't be a problem
I love my Rockstud bag. I've changed it up, taken the top handle and connected it to the chain so I can wear it very comfortably as a cross body. Mine is the denim and I never fail to receive compliments on it.
Rock Stud is a classic bag to the Valentino house. I have a Roman Rock Stud version. The handle is very comfortable, plus it's removable as well as a long chain.
What a great idea! I think Sophie's silver one is a bit overpowering. It would only go great with a very limited colour palette, and I'm thinking black, white and grey. And maybe only structured clothes. Jeans might be ok but the bag itself is an attention seeker.
Top handle bags are my favorite. Easy to carry and it looks so elegant. I'm the weird one, in that, I can't do crossbody bags. They are so awkward for me lol.
I love that Dior Saddle bag. I have loved that shape since the early 2000's.

I highly recommend the Celine micro belt bag with top handle 💕💕 I love it. I don’t know why they call it micro. It fits a lot! And belt bag, yes I don’t know why that either cause it’s more cross body with top handle lol
whether luxury or not, overconsumption is still bad... even in italy and spain leather workers are treated poorly, not to mention the environmental impact...

I love that you go into details about the bags and their practicality vs aesthetics. 👏💖It’s really handy to know and good points to keep in mind when saving up/shopping for a new addition! I’m currently saving up for the new LV stardust print (just wallet) but everyone I’ve asked thinks its really ugly lol 😂 but I think it’s really whimsy and mermaid-esque in color!
The mini lady dior can fit my big samsung phone (you need to put the phone horizontally), card holder, lipstick (also horizontally), hand sanitizer & earphone case comfortably, you can also put your sunglasses at the top of the flap if needed 😊
I use it all the time & I got the black satin one so it can be quite versatile. The annoying part of the lady dior is actually the charms! Oh the sound it makes everytime I move 😅 I usually use it as a shoulder bag & I put my hand deliberately in front of the charms so people don't look at me weirdly.

Ohmygawhd, you've got company! I love my black ABC Lady Dior in small in lambskin. It fits all my essentials (Samsung S21 Plus, DIOR wallet, LV mini-pochette [pressed powder, Travalo refillable perfume spray, lipstick, FRISK mints] pack of tissues, hand sanitizer, sunglasses with its case, comb).
Bottega mini Jodie is my all time favorite casual non logo bag! Love it. None of the issues you mentioned have been a problem for me.
Good to know about these. Sad to see the Dior saddle has no lining! Ghastly for a bag that price! I love the Lady Dior and if I had one, I'd carry by handle and never crossbody, so good to know what happens if you crossbody. Also a little sad about that Valentino bag- I think it's a somewhat pretty bag but for the price probably best to avoid.
I have always been obsessed with your silver valentino!!!!!!! I remember it from videos of yours from years ago and I purchased that bag in dark pink because I couldn’t find it in the metallic silver. I wish I could buy it from you but I’m all the way in Australia :(
For everyday use I find a top-handle flap bag to be a nuisance. For everyday use I prefer a wristlet with a small tote or a real tote bag. For socialising, I love a small handbag or a clutch bag. I used to love shoulder bags but not now.

I am however very careful about buying bags because of the shifts in quality, I don’t dare to buy a luxury bag online, not even from Dior. I think the Fendigraphy price maybe right on Farfetch because that was the price when it first came out and what I paid for mine in Harrods. Maybe the retailer stocked it when it first came out with the original price.

I bought the Bottega Veneta Hobo Intrecciato several years ago. I cut the labels off recently to go on holiday but boy, is it awkward to use. The quality is superb, the colour is beautiful but it is difficult to access and the interior lining is so dark, it’s hard to see what’s inside ( most of my slg’s are dark) so I had to root around to find everything. It’s a work of art but the practicality loses points for me personally. Wish I had opted for a different style now but too late!
So agree on that dior. And when your stuff spills out, it’s getting even more annoying! LMAO. It happened to me couple of times in the car I start putting seatbelt over it 🤣

These are all so pretty its a shame they have issues. I am 100% a crossbody person, cant stand having to hold things (and shoulder bags slip right off me) but defs crossing rhe lady dior off my list now knowing it warps!!

Great list, Sophie! So good to hear how these bags wear over time. I saw the black college with black hardware in another video and kind of fell in love. Would you say that the small Lady Dior is a happy medium between the mini and the medium? I really like the look of the small, size seems to be good, and *good* crossbody capability is a huge bonus for me.

I love top handle bags, I've always had one ever since I got into Kate Spade. Now, my LV OTG PM in black mono empreint is my everyday bag. I also have another top handle Cherrywood BB, but the flap is annoying me now because its a patent/canvass combo and its stiff. Looks great but the patent flap is already showing creases after a year of use. There's just something about top handle bags. You can just grab the handle and your good to go, without the bag flapping about and spilling your stuff, and then set it down again effortlessly.
I don't understand why anyone would spend so much on the Jodie bags from Bottega Veneta since there are so many lookalike dupes (not fakes) since the authentic bags don't have a logo or label on them anyway...? You can get the exact same look for literally 1/50th of the price. 🤯 In fact, I have even seen real leather options being sold on places like Amazon!
Dupes are just nicer name for fakes. Even though the logo are not there or not direct 100% copy but the intention to impersonate something else means the same. So no that is why we don’t buy it. Because we don’t believe in fake designs when there are many original high street or contemporary brand designs

Many designer labels copy from each other, so if you want to convince yourself that premium labels are "original" I'd advice you to reconsider.

I often hear youtubers say, oh, I see people with this bag on every corner, that's what makes me question how many real deal bags those actually are just because there are so many identically looking model dupes (not knock-offs, even though people have them, too). And generelly when people complain to see a certain bag everywhere, how do they know for sure it's an authentic one? They don't! CZcamsrs will come up and talk out of buying a certain model because too many have them, whereas in reality only few have the real ones.
I think we women, at least when we are young, we buy things for nice they look without analyzing too much the functionality hahaha the same way we chose men early on-not all I know 😂
The Chanel business affinity has been on the top on my list but still to pricy to even save for. ESP if I k ow I would treat it too precious that it won’t see the light of day.
This was really good. I love the medium Lady Dior, it’s such an elegant but practical bag. The reseller I use in Australia say they won’t accept Valentino bags at all because they can’t sell them. I don’t have one because I think they are phenomenally ugly, but they are rather popular on social media so that surprised me.

Hello lovely Vanessa!! The mini is so cute but I do find it to be impractical 😔 I wouldn’t dissuade you from the medium size. If you’re likely to wear it crossbody most, then yes I’d say to skip it potentially. But if you’ll use the handles then I think it’s a great bag!😍xx
I think it depends on what phone you have! I don't have as much of an issue with my mini LD, but I also have an Android. Would recommend trying the bag in store and seeing how your items will fit.
(I also find that storing my phone horizontally on top of my other items works well, so it's easier to access)

The problem with the Valentino, apart from the silly handle is that the design overall is just so very specific that you're limited to wearing something edgy and/or futuristic. Romantic won't cut. Florals, out of the question.
It's very specific to a certain very structured style, it would go with black Japanese very stylised clothes. I would feel the the bag is wearing me rather than the other way around. It certainly is for a very limited market. Rock star indeed.
I love the handle it is just my style, not silly at all. But everyone hasdifferent taste 🥰

There was another CZcamsr who got hers in the nano size which I didn't even know Valentino made and it was completely covered in crystals, the entire bag was embellished not accented.. the smaller size and bedazzles made it a stunning evening/party micro bag.

I always used shoulder bags for the last 20 years or so, but recently in the last year I have moved towards top handle because I noticed that shoulder bags gave me a backache. A shoulder bag that can be used cross body ( as a classic Chanel can be) can be ok but not if the bag is a medium or larger size. So here I am really loving top handle bags that have cross body straps. I like being able to hold a top handle in my hand and when I pick it up from the floor or a table. When I want to be hands feee and have the bag secure on my body when I am waking I love a cross body strap. So functionally a top handle is the best for me ergonomically. I am interested in the Lady Dior. I do not know whether to go for small or medium. The Coco handle is also a possibility. I am not in a rush to buy either of these. I know the Trendy CC is popular but I wonder if it is too thick in depth and too sporty looking. I am not sure about the metal plaque at the top although I do not think it is bad looking.

According to a Bottega SA in my state, you can try rubbing wax paper along the zipper of the mini Jodie bag to make it glide open more easily. They actually had wax paper at the boutique to prep the bag and hand to customers who purchased the mini Jodie.

Hello from Kansas City, MO! I really enjoy your videos & the ones like this where you are honest about design flaws, prices, etc are so helpful. I bought an LV Lock Me Tender bag that I loved, but ultimately had to return because it was "front pocket" heavy & would topple over every time sat it down. So frustrating to spend that kind of money on a bag & have it not function well. I do sell my bags on Vestiare or I sell directly to Fashionphile here in the US. I love that Chanel Business Affinity Bag - I've been hesitant to buy a classic flap because the prices are ridiculous but that bag is a nice alternative instead. I have a Chanel 19, so I think the Affinity would be better to add to my collection vs the classic since they're somewhat similar in style. I am heading to Switzerland end of August - do you have any luxury travel bags you prefer to use as carry on? I have a vintage Burberry Carry on that I'm currently using but would love to see your choices. Thanks for the great content!

I haven't got the Jodie but I have seen non branded dupes of it in a local shoe store in the inner western suburbs of Sydney. In fact that whole store has multiple BV dupes and everytime I think of the awful Jodie zipper.
I have Lady dior and the coco Chanel in medium, mini and small size are big no for me I should be able to fit my phone wallet and some extra things
Go ahead and sell the bags if you don't enjoy using it. The money is already a sunk cost. You may as well get something, a few hundred dollars can pay for a nice weekend getaway or a spa day.
