I hope you have enjoyed Shadowstone Park! There's only three episodes at the moment, but hopefully I'll be able to make more. I have a big weird story arc planned for these animal friends / occasional murderers!
I have commented within 5 minutes. I feel accomplished
Yes please! I love this series and the story is really interesting, it's equal parts funny as it is depressing like a sad, sad clown, but clowns aren't really all that funny to begin with.
This has been some of your best work man. Thank you for still making animations on youtube when so many have left the platform
Well, at least we learned an important clue: Darius is a big deviant skull-weirdo.
such a good series
I really wish this had gone on to become a longer series. The hints at the greater worldbuilding are great.

I know it's been a year and this series probably isn't coming back, but I gotta say, I love rewatching Shadowstone. Lark is such a cool dude, and I like how no one really explains anything. We just piece everything together based on visuals and conversations. When I saw episode one, I thought Shadowstone Park was like a nature preserve. Next episode: Zombie rabbits. Even if you never come back to it, this is a very cool and intriguing world you've made and I really enjoyed it.
And does anyone else find it hilarious that the series about a paraplegic ghost-seeing cat solving murders during the apocalypse with his friend, a pelican with a sixpack, is the most, er, realistic(???) series on this channel?
Now that you say it i can't stop laughing...
its not coming back right now for some legal issues
@@syiniydethepotatoe9486 Wait really? What legal issues?

Don’t forget the jacked pelican
Probably carl and his meat monsters
I like how the cat is basically the only sensible and competent creature in the park, and everyone else is completely insane.
This is the stitching that's going to unite the Film Cow Cinematic Universe.
Carl destroys the world. The animals rebuild the world. The unicorns inherit the world.
ImperfectWeapons oh my god
What about the marshmallows? Where do they fit? And detective heart of America
Holy shit. You just blew my mind.
OHHHH, You Mean the *FCU*

When life started coming back in, I have no doubt that there would be some form of anarchy. That would explain the marshmallows. They were the early inhabitants of the new world.

Oh lord, Nil is getting all the best lines.
I know it’s useless but here’s another “please continue this series” comment
Yep
GUESS WHAT IT'S BACK AHAHAHAAA
The series is back.
Lots of blood and lots of meat.... Orphan meat? Maybe in the shape of a meat dragon?
Well... he mentioned not only the creatures being released into the world but also consumed/ eaten so they likely wouldn't exist anymore.
@@SilverJ17 i dont think ALL of the meat was consumed... I mean... The gore pit was still there in the end scene... But again... The meat "if it was a few years ago" would've spoiled away...
caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrllllllllllllll!!!
Wow a filmcow cinematic universe
Nah, it's clearly Walrus meat
Seeing Crush completely gone like that kinda fucked me up. You're magnificant, Jason.
Right? There is something deeply unnerving about seeing a previously sane character become feral with numerous cuts and those jittery eyes...
Just putting it here so everyone can see it, Jason has already confirmed that this is not the llamas with hats universe. The apocalpse is only similar because thats just the way he draws/writes apocalypses
Foolse Nigma Where has he confirmed that? Twitter?
Why is there “lots of blood and lots of meat” then?
@@feariex Im with you! Even IF theres a link to prove this, the city and the small detail of blood and meat is just too coincidental to be considered non-canon to the llamas saga. I imagine like me many people will take it as their head-cannon to say that it does take place after the Llamas saga because well... its pleasing to think that life... lived on after the end of the world that Carl orchestrated.
@@feariex Jason likes random meat, as well as orbs, horses, and random boring things. It's common for a creator to unintentionally add similar things in unrelated creations.
Hey maybe those apartments are where Carl and Paul used to live😂
Hm, yes, the gore pit.
Yeh ure right. Thats what i think too
CCCAAAAAAAARRRRLLLLLLLLL

Zulway God of Mercy is objectively better than Shadowstone Park, prepare for destruction
Yes, Shadowstone park is one of the greatest series filmcow has ever made
I love Lark. He's so polite and kind, he's pretty smart too
“I never thought I’d see the day. Also I knew something like this would happen.” Your scripts are golden
I like how people were hoping for more Llamas With Hats, but FilmCow literally went out of their way to make sequels that are metaphors of the viewers ruining the series by asking for more!
And yet the series was lackluster before, and got seriously amazing later on. I for one am very glad he finished it.
I really like where you're going with this story Jason, your world building skills can shine brighter in a series like this. Also good pacing with most of the comedy coming in at the end. Absolutely hope Hangover is gonna keep paying you to do this series
Also ghost-butt continuity, nice
I agree with you.
Also, I presume you are a fellow punpun reader?
Can you tell me, how many are there in the series in total please?
Bartatron 2000 how many Punpuns? Off the top of my head, I'd say 6. Do you mean how many volumes that compromise the series? That would be 13. I really love Inio Asano's work, and I find it oddly fitting to discuss this under a Filmcow-video, since the general direction and absurdity of their stories have some parallels. I have volume 6 of Dead Dead Demon's Dededededestruction - the most recent Manga of his - on my shelf, had been quite a hiatus. Might be worth checking out for some people here. The story is really weird, there's this looming sense of danger the whole time, but nothing is actually happening which is, in turn, making the characters impatient and short-tempered
K, thanks mate.
does anyone else think the world in this story resembles the one during the end of Carl the Llama
With all the meat and stuff.
Also talking animals.
There is probably a meat dragon.

@@theuncalledfor Moreso like there being two separate milk cartons in different freezers both connected to different power grids. Ya I'm 90% sure this is the after math of the world from "Llamas with Hats." With it being destroyed by Carl, and meat possibly human being left everywhere also by Carl.
I won't more of this.
Yeah
Also, the fact that the animals are still alive matches up with Carl's work being "almost done" because most of the world is chaos but the parks are still normal.
well, jason said it wasn't so
Yeah no Jason Steele confirmed that it is not in fact in the same world as Llamas with Hats.
Dude that's what I'm currently thinking too😅
I love this. I like how for once they actually took the plot a little seriously on this one, while keeping those FilmCow classics like gore humor and randomness humor. I'm actually invested in the story now!
I love all your short silly stuff but I think you're really suited to serialized content, the mystery and world building are really getting interesting!
Tbh he should just do what he wants, anything he does I laugh at, and staying varied is what keeps someones motivation in something they love high.
I agree with both of you. Its nice to allow him to do what he pleases but it would also be cool to get a tv show.
I love that there is a lore reason that almost all the animals are going insane.
Over three years later, this remains my favourite FilmCow series. I hope something more can come out of it, sooner or later.
I think Shadowstone Park takes place in the same universe as Llamas with Hats, like after Carl kills himself and the world just goes to hell.
Jakkxtin no that wouldn't work carl killed everything and everyone.
I thought that instantly
The universes are not connected, that's just my limited drawing abilities making each post-apocalypse look more or less the same, hah. What happened in the world of Shadowstone Park was not the work of a lone murderous llama.
Eden potato Stowe We don't know if Carl also killed animals, you could see trees (which are alive) and such in the final video, I also doubt that he would kill his partner along with everyone else.
Eden potato Stowe You can’t know that for sure, it’s possible that there were a few places that survived. If you rewatch t again, you’ll see how Lark says “whatever’s been protecting the park is failing”, meaning it could’ve survived Carl’s apocalypse. And why the edge of the park is such a bad thing, there’s probably radiation or something from the apocalypse that Carl caused and Shadowstone Park was protected from it by something. Also explains why they’re so surprised to hear there’s other parks. And if you look at the background with the building, it looks exactly the same as the ones from the last episodes of Llamas with Hats.
I thought Lark ended up in the place Paul died in Llamas with Hats. Would’ve been really funny to see Paul’s skeleton again as an Easter egg.
I bet lark will find it and were his hat
It's... it's been over two years, and I've only just realised that Lark is the name of a bird, a _ground_ bird no less. Symbolism for Darius and the others considering him part of the family.
I'm really into paleontology, and I would like to personally thank you for having given me the phrase 'big, deviant skull weirdo.'
it's come in handy to describe the jar full of bones
Maybe stone things are UFOs and Nil is a dead alien.
this needs more attention
yes pls
Wait... Most of them are flat... Nil crashed his ship, maybe that's why it is failing.

I just commented earlier the same theory, that this takes place after L w/ H
Omg Paul and Carls’ ghosts could be around!
Nah, the World Of Horseman takes place after Llamas With Hats. In episode 11, Carl refers to “the orb that would shock people and eat their skin.” Orb from Horseman uses electrical powers in the “Failed TV Pitch” episode.

Here’s another Darius fact: He probably had Punches skull in his collection
My theory is that this is connected to llamas with hats and whatever happened to the outside world is Carl's fault.
I thought so too, but this is more mass madness, Carl killed everyone through nuclear bombings and flesh dragons and the sort. I guess it isn't contrary that Carl did this too, but where do the shadow stone(s) fit in?
I think it's ultimately seperate
@@DanielDangerous This could have been during or after his killing spree. He only ever mentioned killing people, not animals.

I was just thinking: With all that crazy post-apocalyptic stuff beyond the park (just bananas) and clear sign of a world previously of humans.....
Could this be in the Llamas With Hats Universe? Post-Carlpocalypse?
Post-Carlpaulcolypse.
subaerofreeman Did not know that. Slightly disappointed. But this is still a cool series independent of that one, so not really.
Was my thought too. THe city looks like the on in the final Lamas episode. Guess just reused assets. Kinda sad though.
Carl killed everything, so it's probably not the same.
Why is there “lots and blood and meat” tho it’s just too similar.
Hate to rain on this parade, but Jason has stated that llamas with hats, shadowstone park, and charlie the unicorn all take place in separate continuities. The mystery behind shadowstone park is its own thing.
I'm sad. Another wonderful series brought to the guillotine. If I was any good at writing murder/mystery I'd do a fanfic to partially satisfy myself. RIP Shadowstone Park :(
"hoo and boo, I'm a ghost oooowwwlll" got me XD
What would happen if someone was killed slowly over a period of several hours? Would them remember how they died then, or do they forget the entire dying experience and not remember no matter how long it took?
"I never thought I'd see the day! I also knew something like this would happen." such a good line
Lark kinda feels like the hero we need these days.
Hoo and Booh, I'm a ghost-owl!
THE PLOT THICCENS
Boba Bobbington is the
FilmCow cinematic universe: Llamas with hats takes place during the 10,000 years the "chaos spirits" from Charlie the Unicorn destroy the world (tricking Carl into helping for fun) and the stone from Shadowstone Park is the weathered-down Charlie statue from the finale.
Coming back to this after the patreon was set up and the continuation of this series was announced.
Super excited to see more!
"I'm glad I don't remember any of this, because GOOD LORD, I'm just goo now."

Finally watched these three and a half years later. It might be useless to ask, but now that Llamas and Charlie are out of the way, I really hope this continues! It feels like this may take place alongside at least one of the two other series and has plenty of its own mysteries to solve as well.
The fairly recent Charlie the Unicorn gives me hope that one day this will continue! I really loved this show. Wish I could voice someone in it!
Luckily that only happens for owls. I know I'm going to heaven even though I have a bunch of owl skulls.

This is such great story telling cut short by only three episodes. Wish we had more
I swear Lark the Cat is awesome. I love how totally unfazed he is by everything, and his sort of slightly tired sense of duty. All these weird-ass animals and he just takes it in stride . . .or, well, drag.
Honestly love this series so far, looking forward to the possibility of more!
"I never thought I'd see the day. I also knew something like this would happen." XD
Clearly, this is Jason's mature masterpiece. And for once, I'm watching a FilmCow that isn't 14 years old. 2018 is yesterday compared to the age of some of these cartoons. I love this series. Lark and Pecan are very amiable characters to navigate an insane world with. I wish there was more Shadowstone Park. I guess he's busy with other things. Anyway, GREAT stuff.
Omg this is actually so intriguing, I can’t wait to see where it goes!
What an odd society this park is, where all animal, prey and predator, are living together in harmony. And it’s ranger is a paraplegic cat/medium who decides who stays and who goes. Those who don’t follow the law are banished from the park, but will those who eat and kill others eat and kill others outside the park? The fallacy of Lark’s decisions.
The killing is not done in the service of the circle of life etc. though - the rabbits are clearly just bloodthirsty and mentally affected, the Owl King's killer was vicious and indulged in the killing, and Crush knew that what she was doing was wrong yet could not help but do it anyway (and is also not large enough to be Gloves's natural predator). Lark serves an ideal, yes, but it is the socially agreed-upon ideal of the park, not just anti-predation.
Wasnt it made pretty clear here that everyone outside the park is a deranged murderer anyway? And that they have been since long before Lark came along?
I think its less like Lark hets to decide who stays and who hoes, and more like its Larks job to find the zombies, for lack of a better word, and get them out of the park into the zombie wasteland, which is populated by zombies.
Why am I only finding this now?! Has there been any update on if this series is continuing?
Sadly not.
Actually, yes this series will continue when it's possible, there's legal stuff holding them back (plus workload of course)
Somehow missed this series and watched it after the return was announced and now I'm stoked
Now that charlie is over i think i finally connected all the series that have come out. Llamas with hats is definitely the first in the timeline since it takes place in a setting with actual people- or at least we can assume that because we technically saw at least one actual human in the first episode. Detective mittens may have also happened during that time. following up with charlie, and now finally shadowstone. I also like to assume Marshmallow people may have also taken place between the 10,000 year time travel gap of the charlie finale, or just parallel to the series as a whole. charlie was kinda the peak of weird shit happening in the wake of Carl’s work- since its confirmed that there no actual humans left on the account of Carl, and the lifeforms that now roam were maybe mutated meat creatures that weren’t eaten. Carl has also been opening portals in space time so that could explain the supernatural entities manifesting later in Charlie. I think the chaos demons are what possessed the Paul mask, because we know that Carl is very versed in his own mental illnesses given his full disclosure in episode 3, so i want to play devil’s advocate and say he wasn’t actually schizophrenic and the mask was being possessed by a chaos demon. However this implies that either “charlie” the wizard predated everything, or maybe a single (or many) chaos demon/s were sent back to the past, which is also entirely possible.
