  • Dr. Moises Lustgarten, Pain Medicine Physician with Baptist Health South Florida, explains fibromyalgia is a disease that involves pain in multiple parts of the body, such as muscles and ligaments, and it is also associated with depression, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and eating disorders.
Some of the symptoms of fibromyalgia are fatigue, morning stiffness, nausea, weight gain, vision problems, twitches, and memory impairment. He also says fibromyalgia cannot be tested or diagnosed with an image or with a lab board, so the physician has to rule out all the possible reasons for the patient's pain before they can diagnose it.

I believe that some people develops fibromyalgia, from abuse.
Any form of mental emotional and physical abuse can lead a person to fibromyalgia.
Mainly because when a person is so distraught.
It messes with the chemicals in the brain.
And therefore everything goes wrong. The nerves in the brain goes haywire.
When I wake up in the morning for example.
The feeling I have in my brain is so weird and wacky. Its very difficult to explain.
Its like a storm in my brain.
And I strongly believe abused people get fibromyalgia from being torture amd tormented for years do cause fibromyalgia.
This is just one way people can get it.
I'm sure it can be aslo cause from other things as well.
I'm just saying from my own personal experience.
Living with a cruel horrible person people develops many kind of illnesses.
Especially depression stress and anxiety disorders.
Just a feeling of unwell all the time has to be a trip of the nerves in the brain.

My job has been the source of all my problems. Repetitive motions. Almost like what amazon packers do. On your feet, long hours that it's messed up my whole muscular system. I know that's li because when I'm on leave or paid leave I feel like it's more manageable.

@Amit Amit easy and actually you can 2methods only hyperbaric oxygen treatment chamber and dental OCCLUSION THERAPHY (it's a modified dental procedures design to increased your AIRWAY PASSAGE "aka your larynx"without surgical intervention)you cannot treat it with medicine. Or medication if your thinking gene THERAPHY in the future it will not work.caused the problem is in the cells itself it is hypoxic. When cell is hypoxic it means impaired energy metabolism (your not producing enough A.T.P to power and maintain your cell in the body)when your not producing A.T.P it means accumulation of lactic acid in the body and formation of HIF1ALPHA this insignificant protein is the one that will cause most of the problem experienced in fibromyalgia and CFS/me

Good god. I have every single issue. I’ve been suffering my whole life-and I get bounced around and it is not being taken seriously. The pain is unbearable. Why would anybody pretend to be miserable, or want to suffer with these issues? And with the fibro and arthritis symptoms comes everything with it. I need to know what I can do to stop this from ruining my life. I don’t think people fully understand the brutality of this issue does to a person’s wellbeing. The muscle twitches all over my body and the hand and feet cramps as well as the weakness in my body has been hard to live with. It's taken 90 percent of my life. If I do any kind of exertion it takes weeks to recover. I never recover fully only 75 percent where I was before the exertion. I finally had to give up my job. Along with it came CFS. So many symptoms. I return to video's in days like today to remind me I'm not alone. Getting stressed can make me instantly weak and horse.

@@hassb6348 I'm about 30 months into it. I think the biggest win was to accept what happened and stop resisting like I was and falling into such despair and depression. It is so hard I truly understand. I started to learn how to live life as I was instead of recalling how it used to be and missing out on all the things I miss out on. I got away from traditional doctors and went to a neuropathic doctor. I do vitamin therapies there (mainly infusions) and was also surprised to see after different testing that I had small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. We are working on trying to heal a lot of the gut issues. I was surprised to see that some of the bacteria that I tested positive for contributes to fibromyalgia as well as chronic fatigue syndrome. I'm still unable to work however I don't beat myself up every day as I was. I just had to accept it and learn how to live life the way it is now and hope for a better day when hopefully we will learn how to heal this or find a better way of living with it. I remember at 10 months I was a total mess full of anxiety, stress, fear and depression. The muscle twitches have calmed down a lot too over time. I also learned that I had a recent infection of an Epstein-Barr virus that is a direct link to fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I still get weak if I exert myself so I've learned how to pace myself. I've also learned how to go easy on myself. Never give up. Many blessings.

As if i was making it up because they couldnt find an answer to it. Ive been suffering since before i even hit puberty. Now being in my 30s.... i feel like and walk like that of a 70-80 yr old. Ive lost so much of my life at such a young age. And its definitely gotten worse with every child i had.

    Fibromyalgia Facts - Cochrane Library
    - Fibromyalgia is a clinically defined chronic condition of unknown etiology characterized by chronic widespread pain that often coexists with sleep disturbances, cognitive dysfunction and fatigue.
    - Duloxetine and milnacipran are FDA approved for the treatment of fibromyalgia
    - Duloxetine and milnacipran had no clinically relevant benefit over placebo for pain relief of 50% or greater
    - Duloxetine and milnacipran had a clinically relevant benefit over placebo in patients global impression to be much improved: 888 of 1710 (52%) on duloxetine and milnacipran.
    - Milnacipran had clinically relevant benefit compared to placebo for pain relief of 30% or greater.
    - Quality of evidence considered to be low for studies evaluating duloxetine, milnacipran, and desvenlafaxine.
    - A minority of people with fibromyalgia experienced symptom relief without side effects from duloxetine and milnacipran.
    - European League Against Rheumatism ( EULAR): Strong evidence was available only for drug therapy. Based on a good response in several small trials, the group recommends heated pool treatments with or without exercise (strength of evidence: B). Tramadol, antidepressants, tropisetron, pramipexole, and pregabalin are effective for reducing pain, and antidepressants can improve function (strength of evidence: A). There is only weak evidence supporting the use of tailored exercise programs, cognitive behavioral therapy, neuro feedback, acetaminophen, or weak opioids. No research has evaluated the relative benefits of treatment, and most of the studies are short in duration, creating the possibility of a potent placebo effect.
    - Bottom line: Antidepressants, pramipexole, pregabalin, tramadol, tropisetron, and heated pool treatments have been shown to have short-term effectiveness in the treatment of fibromyalgia pain. There is no scientific evidence for ‘alternative medicine…holistic medicine’ treatments. Brain mapping techniques have no proven role in the management of FMS.
There is no scientific evidence that any dietary supplement or a particular diet will relieve fibromyalgia symptoms.
There is no scientific evidence that spinal cord compression or a primary autonomic disorder are important causes of fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia is a horrid condition that is poorly understood.
