- Today we're exploring a nature reserve that is only 500m from Sutton Station and the High Street. Unfortunately it's a 1.5km walk to get to it but we'll cover that with a montage. Come and join me as I explore this little-known pocket of nature just outside the town centre.
Subtitles for the Deaf and Hearing Impaired (SDH) available.

Thanks for the tour Simon. Love seeing how my old stomping grounds have changed since I lived in the UK.
Very interesting Simon. Enjoyed watching. Perhaps not many trains as I hear there maybe another railway strike.
It does seem so.
Geese, it needs Geese, maybe just me idk. Geese would appreciate that fence though.
It’s is nice to see untrampled grass, it is.
In 1958 I had my 1st Hamburger at Wimpeys on the High Street. Nice walk.
Cheers from San Diego
Where on the high street was Wimpy?

About where the Lobster & Grill is now. About 100 meters from the train station on the right, heading north. I remember it tasted fried oniony but very tasty.
I think they still have a couple of stores left in the UK.
The name came from the character Wimpy of Popeye fame. He would “pay you back Tuesday” for a hamburger, hehe, my dad bought me a bus conductor outfit for Christmas, I wore the hat and a pipe, when Popeye was on, 1955 ish, I was six.
Cheers

Apparently there are 62 locations still and Dorking has one, if I ever visit I’ll have to try one after ~ 70 years.
