I 100% agree. I am a Punk fan. They dropped the ball with him. His interview was very honest and I believe they made at least 10 different big mistakes along the way with Punk... He seems to be happy in WWE and even injured is getting them ratings and in Wrestlemania...
Punk would be great just on commentary or doing pre and post shows and worth every penny.

I'm not a punk fan but I'm mature enough to recognize the value he has in pro wrestling, he definitely spices things up because he's naturally just a great talker and in wrestling last time I checked you gotta have the mic skills to fill ass's up in seats, I hope he's still able to compete at a high level when he comes back

As much as I would hope so, its not the wrestler that moves the needle its how well the story behind the wrestling is executed that pushes the needle. Otherwise in 2020 AEW would have fully decimated WWE as compared to what they are doing now.

@@javierubinas1117 the problem is when the storytelling becomes so nonsensical that it takes some major event like signing the rivals biggest star to get things back on track. I haven’t watched AEW in a long time, and don’t really have much reason to. It’s a shame because I think the business is better off with more than one major promotion.

@@777Eliyahu got a question for you then, how do you think John Cena would fare if he was signed to All Elite Wrestling. I mean look at Will Ospreay, as much as he is good in the ring, it's confusing to see him because he is a face in a heel faction. I hope either of us have better ideas because the AEW is running wrestlers, a majority of value is diminishing.

I would put him in a feud with Luchasaurus, but that’s probably just because I want to see the match. Great thing about Cena is that he could work great matches with literally anyone.

can someone fill me in because i do not understand. what is everyones problem with CM Punk? I know he speaks his mind and speaks out against stuff that he does not like, like how management/other talents are trying to do something, but when he speaks about it, it kinda makes sense and no one really gives a rational explanation on why he is wrong. ie not letting jungleboy destroy a rental car because that will ruin it for future wrestlers trying to get a rental car.

  • @javierubinas1117

Id say the only people who had working brain cells that were in a creative position were Cody Rhodes and CM Punk. Remember Cody Rhodes tried to put AEW's image to the mainstream when he was on the Go big Show. Im also betting that if AEW put better stories behind the wrestling and promoted their wrestlers to other mediums and shows, maybe they would have viewers beyond one million by now.

uh this is wrong. when brian danielson and adam cole came over they had a bump in numbers. yea it didnt stay but thats a bump. also durning this last sting run numbers grew. once again thats numbers and take a look, numbers went down after his last match. you can make all the excuses but that makes the statement wrong. is AEW great? no. is it good? no but it is a 2nd company that does work somewhat and we need a second company. no one is saying you have to like them or you cant dislike them but to make false statements sounds like copium. dont be that guy or as i like to say "a cowboys fan in another jersey". if you dont know how bad cowboy fans are then im happy for you cause they make flat earthers look sane.

Sometimes, AEW feels like the drown in cope man.
They just keep drawing and drawing wrestlers, saying that this time its a big deal, just to end up not using them and throwing them on a random stable. And i probably would sound like an absolute hater, but i also dont get how can they say "nah we don't do this for the dumb entertainment, here we WRESTLE and we have the best wrestling, unlike WWE we dont need promos" when they have injuries and major botches on a weekly basis.
Tony is acting like a child and the only thing that keeps AEW alive is his daddys money, because i swear to god that guy doesn't know shit on how to do his job.

He said he “wasn’t a needle mover like the Rock” to be more specific. He’s comparing him to the results of the Rock. He also led AEW in merch sales up to and including the period following his firing. While it’s probably true that no one short of Rock/Austin/Taker/etc could spike AEW’s numbers noticeably, it’s also dishonest for people to pretend that CM Punk (the guy with the most viewed video/return/interview/etc for 2 different companies) doesn’t draw eyeballs and attention. It’s just delusional. It was delusional when WWE fans coped about it just like it’s delusional now when AEW fans cope about it.

You made a good point. You don’t have to be a fan to see someone as a draw. I hated Hulk Hogan, but I realized if I was going to see the wrestling I enjoyed regularly, he facilitated a lot of that. Wrestling is a business in the end, not cosplay. And it’s typical rich kid stuff to fire your top draw to appease a group of guys who collectively are just expenses on your bottom line and don’t generate much income. Wrestling is a business and firing CM Punk as a product was horrible business for AEW, just like firing Hulk Hogan even in 1995 from WCW when he was being booed in some places would have been awful business. Wrestling is garbage right now because everyone’s playing favourites on all sides and not pushing people fans actually want to see. How long has WWE been pushing Roman Reigns? Before that it was Batista. Neither guy was over like Daniel Bryan at one time. Nobody is watching weekly wrestling anymore. Love or hate him, people are talking about CM Punk. That’s good business. AEW is a playground and WWE made a good business decision. Yeah, maybe don’t smash the window of a rental car and cost your boss money, Jack Perry.
