  • Catholic leaders from the US and around the world reacted to the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump. At the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston, Massachusetts, a priest during Sunday's Mass read a statement from Archbishop Sean Patrick O'Malley, who called for our nation to pray for Trump and those killed and injured in the shooting. Archbishop Wilton Cardinal Gregory of Washington DC issued a statement asking "everyone of good will to keep former President Trump and all those killed and injured in last evening's violence in our prayers" and went on to say "let our nation be a land of peace."

    This is not a "political comment", but a Christian! Those who truly belong to Christ reject all kinds of violence, since THE Commandment of Jesus is: (3x) Love Love Love! Any "commands" that deviate from this for whatever reason, are not from Him! Veritatis Missio

    Trump was saved through the mediation of Our Lady of Fatima on July 13. She protected Pope John Paul 2, who survived an assassin's bullet wound on May 13, 1981. Pope Francis presented the former president with a small statue of Our Lady, which he kept in the Oval Office.

    It surely was the power of the Holy spirit that made him turn his head at that moment. My God what has to be done for the people to see it is God. We need to keep up the prayers.

      For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God. - Corinthians
      It is a sin to presume to know the mind of God and what actions he takes or doesn’t take.

      You are sinning by linking religion to politics, and by presuming to know the mind of God and who he does/doesn’t protect. You should repent.

    Holy Heaven's will in this instance ensures the physical survival of Trump;
    but we cannot jump to the conclusion or exploit this escapade as Holy Heaven endorsing the presidential candidacy of Trump.
    our Holy God (plural form) love Trump --- and so, Trump must embark on the holy path of remorse and repentance --- which he has not, obviously. cf. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
    1 Corinthians 13: 4-7
    4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
