In this presentation Iro Tasitsiomi will discuss certain costs and risks that arise directly from how ChatGPT was built and trained. More specifically she will discuss “Model Complexity as Cost”, “Model Complexity as Risk”, as well as “The cost and risk of having an overly … studious model” and remind us of all other costs and risks - from energy and CO2 ‘costs’ to ethical risks and concerns. Furthermore, she will share examples of potential use cases for ChatGPT in asset management - and, focusing on the risk point of view - will emphasize cases where things can go wrong (e.g., re summarization, risk factor extraction, etc).
