Just by applying what you've shown in this video, I quickly went from Plat to Ascendant within two weeks (hours and hours of play - end year holidays). It was my movement all along. Happy New Year everyone!
@Snow Mexican yes 100% a me thing. Also, majority of my games were with friends especially regular duo queuing. I discovered Solo Q win rate was much higher. UPDATE - Now stuck between Asc3 - Immo 1.
its the same with fighting games and MOBAs to. A large portion of getting good on those games is movement. Either how you move through the map and map awareness on how your enemies move in MOBAs, andd how you move and control spacing in fighting games. Mastering movement in any type of games is essential, almost its mandatory that you learn how to move.
When I'm in the situations that you're demonstrating here I have 100% realized how bad people are at tracking. Even if you just go into a DM and strafe people can't hit you at all. The main issue I'm having right now is getting pre-fired when I feel like I'm holding off angles or jiggling for info at (what I thought was) a strong position. I'm still very new to the game (about 60 total games) so I know it's just an experience difference, but for the life of me I just can not figure out how to position (especially on defense or for info gathering) to not just get pre-fired. 😢
lmao I remember this experience, when I first played plat I thought it was full of aim demons because all the common spots I peeked or held would just be a 1 tap.
Maybe you could make a movement guide? I am currently d1 after my second act and my ascendant friends say I struggle with movement but have good aim, I can counter strafe but I usually crouch spam while doing it and I think I am not strafing properly as my bullets often go in different directions and I just get confused, nice video though
I just wanna point out anything over 80+ ping plus lag spikes makes it physically impossible to peak, especially with delayed bullet registration, a perfect example is in fortnite 0 ping you can hold walls and steal them from other players on 30+ ping, but if we’re talking about Fps every millisecond counts, if I were to peak out and get behind the wall my hit box is like 2 steps behind me, but I’ve tried low ping before and it makes videogames unbelievably easy especially CS
As a bronze I spent some time on learning how to strafe side to side and tap spray. Keep in mind that I already had decent aim at the time getting a lot of headshots with weapons like the ghost and vandal. After implementing the strafing movement people started calling me a smurf because I was almost impossible for low elo players to hit and once I got used to aiming while strafing I could hit them easily while doing so. Jumped straight to silver within a two weeks, one week spent getting used to the aiming and timing while strafing, this a skill you will never stop using.
This was very educational for me, as someone whos started out in Valorant and gets really frustrated my tryhards one tapping me and im like, but why? how? aimbot? I never even thought to consider this, and I think its mostly just due to how this game is versus other games. Its different, its also extremely extremely competitive. I can kinda hold my own now, but I think ill use these tips to improve and continue working on the aiming part so that when im peeking and then moving im lined up where I wanna be.
This is exactly the perfect video as someone who went from Bronze 3 to Bronze 1 from losing like 6 games in a row. This is what I needed to see. Someone at my level get better.
I'm brand new to the game so def a low elo player and this explains why when I try to focus on getting that perfect one-shot I die but I can say f it and just run straight down mid and get three quick headtaps. I'm probably still not moving correctly but just moving is probably what does it.
One thing its good to mention ,its a 1v1 situation ,u never hold angles like that in higher elo unless u r jett or chamber, learn all that but with actual right angles to hold and correct movement that can be implied into games should be mentioned imo!
Bro yo yo yo i have a lil question, i can counterstrafe but when i get hit i move slower and just dies from slow movement. At that point i think i only care about moving away instead of trying to kill the enemy while slowed but i want your thoughts
The techniques I used are the same in higher ranks. Mix up your pacing/style of peek. Look for ways to gather information about a potential fight before swinging. Prefire. Jump spot.
@@Woohoojinhardstuck ascendant here you actual goat, i don’t know how long i should make my strafes and don’t trust dm to test it bc of how mixed the elo is, when i play good players i assume that tight strafes are great because it’s just enough to get my head out of the way and i get to shoot quicker, works pretty well most of the time because i rarely ever need more than 2 bursts to kill someone but i’m assuming that i can make my strafes long enough to actually make them miss then shoot every so often?this sounds like it’s gonna be really fun to experiment with but idk if it’ll be as effective in high asc imm lobbies but that might just be me overestimating these guys
my biggest problem is that I'm coming from games like R6S, where pixel peaking gives you an edge. So I try doing that but it never works. I'm trying to get into the hang of doing your routine, but man is it tough but I can tell that I'm improving
I appreciate these videos, although I have learned I need to strafe and get my timing down for accurate shots I cannot figure it out for the life of me. Am i firing before I press the opposite dirrection? Right as I press or after I press... cannot get it consistent
I've got to mid plat almost purely by grinding mechanics and learning good angles/maps. And honestly when I played with some lower rated friends against other lower rated people (low gold and below) the most noticable thing was their movement. It was jarring at first because I was used to players with decent movement but once I realized how predictable their movement was winning gunfights was completely braindead. It didn't even matter if I had better aim because they simply couldn't hit me consistently.
Along with aim and movement I also have the problem that I don't move or aim in (normal) matches the same way I do in deathmatches or practise mode. I dunno what it is. It's not being too tense or too relaxed. I just don't hold my crosshair as well as I should or swing and move as well as I should. Have you seen/experienced this before, if so what is causing that and do you have tips for it? Off-topic: do you think you will you ever release Rocket League (coaching) content? I'd 100% watch it.
You need to accept that you're going to lose some ranked, and play ranked with the sole focus of moving correctly in your fights. It can take weeks of focused conscious effort to train your subconscious. Rocket League, while a fascinating game, is not something I plan on releasing coaching content for in the future. The time investment to stay up-to-date on evolving strategies/techniques in a secondary esport is not feasible while I also work a fulltime job.
@@Woohoojin I understand that. I hit a plateau for a very long time and couldn't break above plat 2 in RL. Thanks for the tips for valo. I saw in one of your other comments that fully re-watching your own VODs helps getting off auto-pilot. I'm guessing that might help me out too. Maybe I'm auto-piloting and not using the fruits of the practise. So I'll probably try that once I get a gaming rig strong enough to record on the background.
I am getting one tapped as soon as i start moving when in a fight not right after the peek. Mostly from enemies full spraying or just run and gunning...
I don’t understand, I know I’m doing this wrong but I don’t know how I’m doing it wrong. Like for me I get shot and that slows me down and I can move out of the way because I’m being shot a bunch. Hey mate, can you tell me the setting how to make those training setup so the round is not going to make progress like that? It never tried it and I want to, thanks
Damm this video is kinda crazy, for me one thing I have an issue with is movement in gunfights. I’m really bad at it atm, it feels like when I try to strafe I just get hit before I get the chance and usually then it’s over pretty quick, but I guess this video shows it’s most likely me swinging bad in the first place, causing me to get hit and slowed, so I’ll try to work on this first :) Thank you for the tips!
I was immortal 2 and I’m lost. Maybe I just have good aim but I have no clue what swing you were wanting. I feel like I don’t get 1 tapped unless the dude just hits a nice readjustment or perfect plscdmrnf
Idk, I jiggle corners when holding, hold off angles, mix up the spots I’m going to, mindgame the peeking far after wide swinging, I still get one tapped a lot 😂 maybe I’m just playing really good ppl tho
When you're bronze it really feels absurdly hard to hit someone whos AD ADing against you, i started out Iron 3 and man i remember getting so mad when people did it against LOL, good times man
That’s what I was thinking for a bit now. I had an issue with my hs% and noticed that I was spraying too much. I then made a macro for my mouse that would allow me to only burst 2 shots at a time. I thought this would help me the most because I would only go for headshots. But I noticed that actually it’s not really the aim part that I was lacking rather than being too much of an easy target when spraying. When I started to only double tap I automatically started to strafe a lot more and faster and see the enemies bullets flying left and right to my head.
@@isjaboi2363 Don't be complacent, my friend got banned for using macros in Logitech Hub, he lost his account worth $500 dollars. He's still pissed about it to this day.
Alot of it with lower elo players is their movement (but I'll argue even Immortals have issues with it too) and crosshair placement. I bet if we looked at alot of these Gold POVs they swing their crosshair into you as opposed to you letting them walk into your crosshair.
Well i dont know how to move correctly and shooting my aim is bad and i often have panic shots and get nervous and shaky hands 😐 but i want to learn it
Everytime I peek I get one tapped is there a way I can peek better for like ranks of plat-dia I struggle as I peek and I think I am unconfident when I do so, I don’t know how to have the upper hand when peeking does anyone have some tips?
This is so great but we need to know more about how to start training to fix this. Is it all just the gunfight hygiene video? I have started following that practice (along with the gold in 1 month routine).
There’s no simple training routine here - every gunfight in this game is unique! This is to highlight that lower rated players don’t approach these gunfights with creativity. After I explained some options to the Golds notice how they started successfully getting into fair fights with me!

Ok he is bronze
Thats the end of it lol
@@theinterruptedlife1783 you gotta tech them some how 😂
Lol I will just say “shut up bronze”
Maybe you could make a movement guide? I am currently d1 after my second act and my ascendant friends say I struggle with movement but have good aim, I can counter strafe but I usually crouch spam while doing it and I think I am not strafing properly as my bullets often go in different directions and I just get confused, nice video though
Leonard was SUCH a good sport about it holy shit man what a beast
Jumped straight to silver within a two weeks, one week spent getting used to the aiming and timing while strafing, this a skill you will never stop using.
that bug when youre looking at the ground and cant aim up happened me 3 times in ranked
I’ve made it to plat 1 and dropped back down to gold 3 because of your videos. I’ll be back. And then back down. 😈
One of these days will be the last day you're ever a gold player, v12. I hope I help you see that day.
There are very very few hackers in this game, I doub that you've ever played against a cheater.
This is exactly the perfect video as someone who went from Bronze 3 to Bronze 1 from losing like 6 games in a row. This is what I needed to see. Someone at my level get better.
A LOT of random stuff happens in valorant that does come down to luck though... Even I hit headshots accidentally WAY too much lmao
I'm brand new to the game so def a low elo player and this explains why when I try to focus on getting that perfect one-shot I die but I can say f it and just run straight down mid and get three quick headtaps. I'm probably still not moving correctly but just moving is probably what does it.
I learned so much and the fact he didn’t explain
Nice vid, didn't think such small change would make my aim get so clean fr fr
One thing its good to mention ,its a 1v1 situation ,u never hold angles like that in higher elo unless u r jett or chamber, learn all that but with actual right angles to hold and correct movement that can be implied into games should be mentioned imo!
this is so true man I'm a big brain tenz like aim man but i had a bad aim day once and i still got 25 spraying with vandal and clutching rounds.
Bro yo yo yo i have a lil question, i can counterstrafe but when i get hit i move slower and just dies from slow movement. At that point i think i only care about moving away instead of trying to kill the enemy while slowed but i want your thoughts
bro said it wasnt aim demons, and then just aim diffed him.
pretty true actually xD
Not aim diff, movement diff.
This movement could be the key to me winning gun fights
Could you do a similar video with how to take gunfights/move correctly in higher elo(Dia/ascendant)? Much love, goated content.
It's a sign that this popped up and calling me to watch it. I feel enlightened now
I've been asking myself who I do keep getting 1 tapped even tho I'm confident I have top notch aim until I see this big thanks bro.
I'm immediately gonna train both my movement AND my tracking.
I realized this after many deathmatches lmao yall got this lesson for free 😭
my biggest problem is that I'm coming from games like R6S, where pixel peaking gives you an edge. So I try doing that but it never works. I'm trying to get into the hang of doing your routine, but man is it tough but I can tell that I'm improving
Would love to hear you talk more about movement and peaking if you have t already, seeing this video is a true eye opener for lower ranked players
Really good video, now I just need the supplement video on how to move better in my low elo.
i moved like he did, got 1 tapped every time
I appreciate these videos, although I have learned I need to strafe and get my timing down for accurate shots I cannot figure it out for the life of me. Am i firing before I press the opposite dirrection? Right as I press or after I press... cannot get it consistent
Woohoojin on 0.5 speed is goated😂🎉
Damn I didn't know you coached like this, makes me want to get a partner to practice with.
What I’ve learned that it doesn’t matter how they swing or how good there aim is if you kill then through a wall with Odin
things i notice: he(radiant) strafes and repositions a tiny bit every time they peek and gather info on him
I've got to mid plat almost purely by grinding mechanics and learning good angles/maps.
My movement is so bad guess I need to practice my movement and different swings...Thanks for the insight
When i stop moving my shots go all over the place
this is actually really helpful
This is really insightful
what I learned is I need to sit in the middle of the open until I just out move myself to gold
This is feels like you when your dad is helping you with your math homework 😭
actually learnt something thanks
i love leonard’s castle crashers profile pic hahah
I feel like focusing on my movement compensates for my aim
I am getting one tapped as soon as i start moving when in a fight not right after the peek. Mostly from enemies full spraying or just run and gunning...
never seen another coach do this, w, and only 3k subs, the algorithm is evil i swear
so would u say its better to use ads for long distance if ur defending but when ur swinging u dont wanna ads correct?
I don’t understand, I know I’m doing this wrong but I don’t know how I’m doing it wrong. Like for me I get shot and that slows me down and I can move out of the way because I’m being shot a bunch. I don’t know how little jiggles make you fully not hit. I been practicing for about a week tho. I’m bronze 2
This why I tell my lobbies they are playing a different game
I feel so called out but i needed this badly lmao
Keep up the great Content you should have way more subs, other than big youtube channels you acutally give in depth infos on how to improve in certain situations.
Thank you for such a great video! Really great explanation all around, and keep up the great work!
Better, now again. Bros a full on sensei
This was the vid that brought me the banana man
Do you have a video on actually how to move better in gun fights/peeks?
For some reason when i try to aim and my crosshair is on enemys head i just flick away from their head and miss all my shots
@Woohoojin Do you use your mouse to micro adjust or your movement to micro adjust in this clip?
This is genuinely a perfect example of how people play valorant. It's a game that requires you to use your mind to understand the complex mechanics.
Hey mate, can you tell me the setting how to make those training setup so the round is not going to make progress like that?
It never tried it and I want to, thanks
Damm this video is kinda crazy, for me one thing I have an issue with is movement in gunfights. I’m really bad at it atm, it feels like when I try to strafe I just get hit before I get the chance and usually then it’s over pretty quick, but I guess this video shows it’s most likely me swinging bad in the first place, causing me to get hit and slowed, so I’ll try to work on this first :)
Thank you for the tips!
yeah cool and all but i can literally be fully jump sprinting across a 3m hallway and still get headshot one tapped
prob a combination of peekers advantage and bad movement
I was immortal 2 and I’m lost. Maybe I just have good aim but I have no clue what swing you were wanting. I feel like I don’t get 1 tapped unless the dude just hits a nice readjustment or perfect plscdmrnf
Honestly I look at immortals and radiants and I think to myself I could be there but my mental sucks and now I'm just inconsistent
Okay because I’m doing to do this and no one’s going to tap me anymore. Sure.
Wait im pretty sure macros are bannable, be careful with that.
might wanna reconsider the macro valorant might ban you
Yea you probably will get banned at some point if you continue
@@Roop283 meh i dont think the game will notice.
@@isjaboi2363 Don't be complacent, my friend got banned for using macros in Logitech Hub, he lost his account worth $500 dollars. He's still pissed about it to this day.
Man i think that you are the best by watching you i have improved so much...Thank you so much
🤍
Goated vid, thanks!
Alot of it with lower elo players is their movement (but I'll argue even Immortals have issues with it too) and crosshair placement. I bet if we looked at alot of these Gold POVs they swing their crosshair into you as opposed to you letting them walk into your crosshair.
Well i dont know how to move correctly and shooting my aim is bad and i often have panic shots and get nervous and shaky hands 😐 but i want to learn it
Everytime I peek I get one tapped is there a way I can peek better for like ranks of plat-dia I struggle as I peek and I think I am unconfident when I do so, I don’t know how to have the upper hand when peeking does anyone have some tips?
bronze 2 here this video is helpful thank u sir
when i do that people just crouch and spray and slow me because they shot my legs and then kill me
This is so great but we need to know more about how to start training to fix this. Is it all just the gunfight hygiene video? I have started following that practice (along with the gold in 1 month routine).
There’s no simple training routine here - every gunfight in this game is unique!
This is to highlight that lower rated players don’t approach these gunfights with creativity. After I explained some options to the Golds notice how they started successfully getting into fair fights with me!
woohoojin is the teacher we all wanted in a school life
what's the biggest tip for immortal 3 players who are stuck around top 1000-2000?
