  • The French Riviera (Cote d'Azur) is the Mediterranean coastline of the southeast corner of France. The French Riviera is a major travel hub and is usually considered to extend from Toulon in the west to Monaco and Menton at the France-Italy border in the east.
    The Cote d'Azur is known for its beaches, views, picture perfect water, yachts and as a playground for the wealthy. It also has charming towns and a highly regarded art and culture scene, and is a popular road trip location. Situated where the Alps meet the Mediterranean, the French Riviera is an area that enjoys a wonderfully mild to warm climate year round.

    Visited regularly from the late 80s to present, stayed in various parts, camping, hotels,& gites and love it, haven’t been for 6 years until this month May 2024, something felt different- busy -not relaxed don’t know why poss to do with being resident in France now living southern Normandy close to Mont st Michel busy in the summer but not frenetic. Nice though is still one of my favourite places along with Frejus 😊

    I live in Saint Raphaël, which is in the middle of Côte d'Azur, between Cannes and St Tropez, it is my favourite, there's a fantastic Golf club 5 minutes from the town centre, it has beautiful beaches, great restaurants, entertainment parks and nature all around. Fréjus/St Raphaël are two towns in one with around 100 000 inhabitants.

    Been going to the Coté d'Azur for 42 years and every year. This is an absolutely artless, philistine assessment with a vile AI voice. Which probably suits most travellers who will never get it and will thankfully never return.

There is no doubt that the Cote is one if the most beautiful places in Europe. But there are also many others to find here. Think it's also a matter of what you prefer.

      @@W.T.G halfway through and really loving the visuals on the narration but the music is so irritating with that awful beat that sounds like slapping a piece of plastic .
      Perhaps next time music without a drum beat if that is possible ? Too many nowadays use the electronic synthesize drumbeat which sounds terrible ... lacks resonance , lacks richness , lacks depth ... and yet there are wonderful drum sounds from Africa and India and around those parts of the world which are so lovely to the ear

    Know Cote d´Azur all so well, spend many summers during my life over there especially at St Tropez. Been very lucky from the start, have a who has a beach on the strip where everybody goes, Pampelonne beach is where the famous private kind of beaches are. These beaches all have restaurants and bar open for everybody eat,drink but to stay people have to pay for beach mattresses and umbrella. The village is beautiful, see the sunset having a drink on the port ,,uau. The night life is intense and fun, people have dinner kind of late after 10 PM restaurants are full. Along the years I was considered a local, knew everybody and never stayed on line to get in the night clubs. Sure been the entire coast, would go to Nice where a real good friend has a restaurant, we had dinner and after go hit the Cassino at Monaco.

    such as mattress rentals are closed in winter.

    • @sophiewanlin8612
      @sophiewanlin8612 Před 2 lety +1

      That's totaly false and very misleading ! In France, you have the law about the seaside (la loi littoral) but you have to pay for some rare beaches' entrance decided by... the mayor himself and the fees are taken by the local civil servant. And the authorities, such as the prefect, didn't say anything about that. Examples ? The municipal beach of Saint-Jorioz (French district number 74) where you have to pay 2.60 euros (2021 price) for the entrance. Or another beach, Bourget-du-Lac for instance. Of course, if you want to rent a mattress, you have to give more bucks... The fact that's in practice very rare and accepted by the police (or I'd better say by the local prosecutor) doesn't mean that you can go, put your beach towel on the sand for free everywhere, at anytime of the year. Especially in summer.

    You have forgotten one if the most beautiful places on the Cote. It's the village near Route National shortly after Lavandou.
    It's a real beautiful place on the top of a small mountain .Therefore you also have forgotten it's beaches like Estrel or the beach right beneath Fort Bregacon which is the common place of vacation of the french presidents.
    Think these are places which should have been visited because they are the most beautiful of all the beauties of the Cote.

    If you can find a beach chair offering 10 cm/5 inches of clearance with your neighbor's, you are obviously on the beach in early February.

      Stupid. If people didn t complain anything since ever we still would live in middle age. But he is of Indian origin therefore no surprise. Because in his country there really most people complain anything and therefore they are a 3rd world country

    How do you go from nice to Saint Paul de Venice? Is there a bus? Merci.

    • @W.T.G
      @W.T.G  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes of course. From Nice city center : tramway n°2 from the city center to station Parc Phoenix. Then bus n°655 (Parc Phoenix / Airport - Bus stop "Aéroport Promenade" / Saint-Laurent du Var / Cagnes sur Mer / La Colle sur Loup / Saint-Paul de Vence) every 30 to 45 min.

    Some nice drone footage of WW2 bunkers, but I guess that not the main reason people go to the south of France

    I liked very much your presentation. Cote d Azur is a beautiful place to visit many times. I stayed în Nice many times and I visited around Nice, bat it exist a lot o little towns to visit on Cote d Azur. Go on ! I have my presentations on CZcams, more modest than yours. Thanks again for your Cote d Azur. Liliana Enescu Radu

    Ha ha ha! Long slow pans using a wide angle lens not to be recommended.
    Otherwise a good way to appreciate the fantastic views from the Corniche between Nice and Monaco is by the 84 bus which you catch at Nice Riquier price €1.50 (or €1. If you have a multiple trip ticket)

    Good tour of the Côte d'Azur. I only wish the narrator tried to learn how to pronounce the French city names.

      I fell in love with Menton and I am planning on purchasing a place there because of the good prices. Being originally from Montreal Canada I speak French very well so I do not have that language barrier plus it is also 2 minutes away from the Italian border which is a bonus. Only you could answer your own question for it depends on what you like and what you are looking for and your budget. There is something for everyone and everyone I know has fallen in love with a different place on the French Riviera. You have to rent for two to three seasons in different areas before you can really commit. Remember that most of the French Riviera in winter is not Miami weather but rather cold and in some areas also wet like the fall weather in Montreal/ New York.

    C'est une présentation tronquée de la région, il n'y a pas que les villes de bord de mer (heureusement). N'hésitez pas à louer une voiture et à visiter l'arrière pays. C'est beaucoup plus calme et il y a moins de touristes.
    It's a truncated presentation of the region, it's not just the seaside towns (fortunately). Do not hesitate to rent a car and visit the hinterland. It's much quieter and there are fewer tourists.

      C'est pas tronqué. La Côte d'Azur c'est la bande littorale. L'arrière pays (affectivement magnifique) n'est pas la Côte d'Azur.

    When you do a very quick description you miss a lot and you make mistakes. The main revenue source for Monaco is not tourism. This is VAT collection , real estate and company and banking services .
