- After Hurricane Ian makes landfall, I head across Alligator Alley and drive through Naples and SW Florida to view the damage to find many beachfront homes damaged or destroyed.

Watching this video now what a nightmare!! So sad and Naples is arguably one of the most beautiful gems in Florida. Thank you Barefoot for a view into this bad situation. Our hearts and prayers go out to SW Florida!
Thanks Michael!
This is so heartbreaking. Love Naples & was just there in May 2022. Prayers for everyone on the Gulf Coast.
Thanks for your tour of Naples Beach. We go down there for biz many many times & are so sad for the devastation to this and other beautiful homes and lives. Encouraging to see your engagement with the residents. Thanks for your video.
Thanks for the kind words Christine!
Thanks for sharing. The scariest storm I have been through lived in Tampa my entire life. We lost half our pool screen but that pales in comparision to our neighbors in the south. I did feel comfort in a great State leader who was actively communicating with us residents and supplying plenty of water and gas which in the past has been a problem. Thanks again for sharing...Prayers for them!
I’m very glad to see my tree made it. The spot where you stopped by the first set of pylons, that big beach pine tree is where I go when I’m there. I pitch my hammock up in that tree and watch the sunset. At least something survived. Thank you for the footage, I know a lot of people who didn’t make out too good.
Thank you for your coverage of the devastation in Naples. It felt very sad. My thoughts and prayers to all of those who lost lives, material possessions can be recovered. It will take a while and lots of efforts.
Best Footage... Thank you for sharing! Naples is so gorgeous... This is so sad ... Boca is beautiful too.
Thanks Sandra!
That is such a beautiful part of our state. To see all the devastation there is heartbreaking. 😢
Such devastation. Prayers and thoughts are with the people of Naples and Florida.
I am truly grateful and humbled by this video BV!!
Thanks my friend!
Very nicely narrated , thanks so much for sharing this remarkable video.
Love from North Carolina!!! My heart and prayers are so with all of you❤️🙏❤️😓😓😓💔
Thanks Wendy, stay safe up there!
I just found you and I so appreciate your moment by moment comprehensive coverage. It's helping my burnout of watching the same scenes over and over with generic coverage. Great job!!!
I really appreciate it thanks Wendy!
Thanks Barefoot blogger. Pray for people. They are hurting badly
T, thank you for putting yourself in harms way to bring us this footage of the devastation. So far, you have delved into areas I have not seen from cable news. Kudos to you! Prayers to all who have had to endure this! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you Terry for the updates. Looks like it's going to be along hard recovery with recovery water damage. .
Heartbreaking 🙏🏻 be careful BV 💞
Naples appears to have fared much better than Fort Myers. Looks like most of the buildings in Naples are intact.
Couldn't believe Fort Meyers beach, all the shops, the pier... just gone.
MYERS
@@leelunk8235 Think that might have auto corrected, not the most important thing but appreciate the correction.
@@JohnCrichton MYERS
The only thing left of the Ft Myers pier is the pilings, I cried when I saw 4' of water rushing right thru high high rises, I knew right then it was going to be total devastation, I spent a lot of time at the Pink Shell resort, Lani Kai and lived in Ft Myers and Naples for 35 years, my heart breaks for these people.
@@mejesse809 CRY ON MY ARMS THEN ITS OK I GIVE FREE HUGS IN TIMES OF CRISIS
Thanks for your report. It's great that they positioned all the rescue and utility vehicles ready to rush in as soon as possible.
Don't let them confuse you as a looter. Stay safe.
Good Morning. God Bless our lineman and God Bless you Terry. Drive safely.
Thanks for your blessings MzVick! And yes, the linemen are our unsung heroes that deserve more attention for the incredible work they do.
many many years ago when my mother was young in the 1930's there was a road that run along the coast next to the pier. it had been covered over when a hurricane or storm passed through before 1940. The storm washed away the road. There was only a fraction of it left in early 2000- she pointed the area out to me when we took her to it for the first time since post Donna. This is not the first time storms have washed away shore lines. There is ALWAYS someone to build again with new ideas how to beat nature. So they think.
I really think stilt built homes are the way to go anywhere near coastline. Thanks for sharing adira!
@@BarefootVlogger for the most part yes they are the best. Mexico City Florida however- not even they remained. Some just the stilts and some nothing.
Hope the animal rescue teams go in to save any hurt, abandoned animals . 🙏
There are no words. Things can be replaced people can not.
All those ambulances may be going to help transfer all those patients from the damaged hospitals to other ones.
Yes, two hospitals in Ft Myers have to be completely evacuated bcuz there is no water pressure, so it's a fire hazard without sprinklers.
Thank you for helping them out.. I am sure they will appreciate it
Tampa really lucked out
Hows that
@@winthropbaker5494 By not getting hit like Fort Myers and Naples
Wow. Mother Nature is nothing to mess with. I can’t imagine staying behind and listening to the 150 mph winds and flood water rising and realizing you might not get out alive. Scary. Prayers for all this storm affected.
Those are extremely wealthy people in that area and they'll be just fine. My heart goes out to those in ft Myers and the other areas especially. They are left with nothing.
You are a great man for doing this. Keep this up.
That means a lot thank you!
Nosey man
Thanks so much for posting this. You gave me hope that the towns will come back. The main news only shows THE most destructed parts. 🙏
Thanks Lynne, it will take time but they will come back
It is generally recommended not to drive around a disaster zone like this unless absolutely necessary. As much as I like seeing this footage, it’s actions like this from people not local to the area that clog up the roads unnecessarily as we try to get to loved ones and help clean up.
I get your point, but one could argue footage like this is absolutely necessary.
How far inland in Naples were the homes and condos flooded? Was the flooding local to just the beach front communities or did it spread into downtown or even East Naples?
Hi from what I know many condos with direct ocean frontage have water damage. ( obviously first floor only) There are quite a few videos on CZcams - type in Naples/ Hurricane. We are one mile from the beach and just had tree branches down.
Eileen, what I saw in Naples was mostly within 2 blocks of the beach. Further in had a lot of standing water but not the flooding I saw closer to the beach.
It went pretty far in. And houses south side of 41 going towards East naples. Flooding was very bad
@@BarefootVlogger it was very bad south side of 41 going towards east Naples, Airport rd and 41 looked like the gulf with structures standing out at the Courthouse. and isle Capri destroyed, Marco island many homes flooded bad, Everglade city destroyed. Parts of naples, people had to be rescued by boat, as they were dodging loose boats. Cars floating…
@@jolofreebird3475 Yes, Marco, Chokoloskee and Everglades city all got hit pretty hard
Prayers 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Glad you're ok and kicking.
Thanks DJ!
Hello Terry. Your kindness is so beautiful. Be safe and thank you for this footage.
Thanks Donna!!
You are a brave man. I wish I had time off from work to come down and help cut up trees.
THATS NOT TOO BAD..FTMYERS LOOKS LIKE A WAR ZONE
It's bad, but Ft Myers is much worse.
@@BarefootVlogger I KNOW
I’ve seen pictures of even universal studios flooded Terry which I’ve never seen
Hi barefoot. We hope all are ok and quick recovery for all. Thank you for showing us. Q. Will it be ok to travel to key west by 28th we have plans to be in keys.
I would think KW will be ok by then, still a month away. Safe travels!
@@BarefootVlogger heading to fantasy fest lol thanks to YOU AND YOUR VIDEOS FROM LAST YEAR !!!!! 😂wife is excited 😜.
Hi terry glad you are safe, can you tell me anything about fifth avenue in Naples and thanks for this great footage.
Myriam, I drove past 5ave and there were some downed trees and no power. But that didn't stop people from eating at the few restaurants that were open. They were actually cooking outside on gas grills.
@@BarefootVlogger thanks Terry really appreciate the info, been in Naples on vacation love the food at 5ave so glad they're keeping up the spirit....thank you so much keep safe.
BEST OF LUCK TO THOSE EFFECTED! THANK YOU FOR SHOWING THE AFTERMATH....
Good job bud. I'm originally from down here Miami to North Miami Beach Aventura Hollywood hallandale I'm a native born here in 64. Those poor people are in Naples Fort Myers Sanibel and all the other areas going to see how I can help them out myself. Look forward to your next video
Thanks Kevin!
Saw this set up during evacuation for Mathew. Very impressive.
Thanks for the vid. We are in Maine now but have a house in Naples. Could be a lot worse. Ft. Meyers is a disaster area.
😴 well, that hardly looks like any damage at all. Maybe a scattering of small trees or bushes that fell down but all the palm trees are standing with maybe a branch or two missing. There some street flooding and maybe some house flooding but really doesn’t look like any big deal. Of course along the coast I’m sure it was bad. Otherwise it looks like just the aftermath of your normal severe thunderstorm in the Midwest.
Terry, can you try and look for a house on golf shore blvd s it’s 280 around 3
Sorry Jim, I had already left before seeing your comment. There was a lot of flooding on gulf shore. Thoughts and prayers to you my friend
Gulf shore, not Golf shore
Mother Nature is the ultimate power. Nothing defeats her.
I used to live in Golden Gate And I haven’t heard any news how those people are. I had friends there but I can’t reach them they don’t answer the phone and I don’t have power so. If you could check out that area Golden Gate and post I would really appreciate it very much.
I have a few friends out in the estates....they do not have power but the area came through similar to Irma. Authorities are in the process of setting up portable cell towers...should help for contact in the near future. I was born and raised there...just moved last May....to Missouri.
as you would say onward and forward -thanks for the post -
It's pretty bad I thought it would be a lot worse
Great job BFV
Great tease Terry , awesome 👏
All that wasted away ! God stop building !!!! On to gods land that you don’t own .
