Hi Carlo here, it is true, it was a great happiness and excitement, because I was finally able to express myself at my best, but I was not excited "only" to return to Italy, but I was also very happy to have found many new friends, very warm welcome , discover new beautiful places, eat delicious food, meet other people, traditions, in short, I was and am happy and excited about so many things, it was a fantastic journey, and a great enrichment for my memories for my heart and soul! 😁😍😘

I love that Carlo and his friend were singing together. That song Oi Marie reminds me of my dad. He would sing that to me when I was a girl. I used to cover his mouth because I didn't know what a gift I had to have a dad that sang to me.
OMG!!!...My ribs hurt from laughing at Carlo and his comment about women turning away from him at discotheque, when he tries to dance with them. How nice to see you and lovely Marie boogie down now and retirement becomes you Carlo, ENJOY! Beautiful! is this beach ground full of white marble stones. I know its worth too, because we had to buy bags and bags of 20 pound bags of white marble stones for our DIY backyard makeover last year and It was expensive. Thank you! it’s a public holiday here today. So I came back to bed with breakfast and as my iPad opened here was the announcement of this video. What a wonderful way to start the day. Your journeys bring me so much joy. Thank you for your filming, dialogue and adventures of friendship. Couldn’t be better. I love Carlo speaking Italian as I am learning this beautiful language and it helps me to tune into the words.
An interesting stopover with delightful friends. Castles by the sea and a marble beach, what a way to have a last stop before home sweet home. I know I'd be thankful for the trip and being back in familiar surroundings...a sigh of relief. So take a few days to de-stress and return to normal. Un abbraccio forte a due!

Not sure why, but the last several messages have been directed at Carlo, who’s English has been consistently easy to understand ! Years ago, when looking for castles of Europe, some of my favorites (from what I could see online) were in Italy. Most of my favorites, to be honest. Having been to neither France, nor Italy, nor Spain OR Portugal, nor the UK, I cannot speak to the braggadocio of any regions being more or less than another. They seem to be much like people I know from other countries and it has less to do with the country and more to the individual being comfortable in their own skin. I mean that those who suggested anything was the biggest or best or somehow better than any other, seemed to feel a need to add to who they might be as if without these things that they would brag on they might not be enough. So you don’t hear as much about castles in Italy, but they are there. Lovely places and towers that still stand and you can stay in many. Not just ruins. So no need to worry, Carlo, because those who are interested in castles usually know about the castles in Italy. Or I do, anyway, and I am ordinary.
My husband is very very I’ll and will not be with us much longer. I have always wanted to move to Italy, although husband almost talked me out of it. He never wanted to leave because he always had his parents to consider (and still has his 99 year old father) and stay within a few hours of them. Since, barring a miracle, he will not be here much longer then Italy is back on the table and he can visit wherever I am. I don’t know that I could afford Positano so maybe I will have another look at the castles and what is nearby them.

Oh "Casa Colomba" looks like a lovely place to stay. Last time we were in that area we stayed at a hotel in Montecatini which was a beautiful spa town and we loved it. If this pandemic passes and we can travel again we plan to do London to Rome overland and will pass by this area so have saved the details. The beach of marble is amazing there, I guess it is close to the Carrara marble mine east of La Spezia. The Amaifi coast is lovely, we haven't been to Positano but have been to Capri, Naples, Pompeii and Sorrento, so we have had a taste of your beautiful area. Its nice you can both be together more now and travel together.

Love the side trips you have taken, allowing us a glimpse of lovely areas. The marble beach was crazy beautiful. The giant perfectly fitted slabs of rock that Carlo pointed out really makes you think.

Home sweet home, what a beautiful trip both of you and your kids had. Wondering knowing your dad's history and what he has accomplished in his lifetime, seeing parts of the U.K, and then going through the mountain region of France, seeing many old and abandon villa's from the 18th century, still standing, and stopping by and staying the nigh for a rest and touring the area, and singing of love among great friends, and finally casa mia! Holly looked very happy!

Welcome home! I’m watching from Massachusetts and I just got in from cleaning up after a snowstorm where we had 24” (.61 meter) of snow. Just pulled together a plate of prosciutto, burrata, olives, tomatoes and focaccia for lunch and am watching you, wishing I was there!

It was so obvious Carlo was so thrilled to be back on home soil. I think English just about went out the window. Always nice to get back into a routine even though you wouldn't trade the travel experience. I liked the shot in your French old castle of the enclosed patio window zooming out to the view.

It's the best time to travel and to visit friends and relatives in spite of the cost. Having a car you can bring back all the supplies needed.
When I see umbrella pines I know I’m back in Italy. I don’t know if they have them elsewhere In europe, but we sure don’t have them in oregon. Nicki, you are so lucky to have a handsome Italian man singing love songs to you, even if they aren’t opera quality. Ciao.
