(pc) the droid model from bf1 are more details (legs), i hope they fixe all of that as well !!!! they can have do so much more, like add the cokpit of the BF1 into the second (same models) etc... The Cantina music plays because it's Hero Assault which was originally only on Mos Eisley, with the cantina and that was the soundtrack. It also had other Jabba's Palace music numbers from the singers and stuff. But that's why it's mostly the cantina music.

I've ran across it on my original PS2 version of the game plenty times over the years. It was an occasional sound and mostly the higher pitched beeps we're familiar with.

My biggest gripe is the fact its 72GB. I dont understand how you turn two small old games into 72GB even with upscaling.
Like 30 gigs on console.

@@krujanveliu agreed. And it would get old quick if you played the game slot, depending on how loud the music it. It is really not fun when it is blasting loud over all of the audio. It feels out of place on many maps, not just Mustafar, but endor, hoth, geonos etc.
I wouldn't mind some Anakins dark deeds / I'm so sorry, especially on Mustafar. But we gotta be able to turn it off if we want and control the volume.

There is other dialogue they cut, one example is the bit where the guy says “it’s a good thing we were wearing helmets, because none of us could bare to look her in the eye” was cut. That was a part of the Falucia mission.

Pretty sure the developers let their dogs step on the keyboard and called it a day. Then they forgot about it for 6 months, saw they had deadlines on the calendar, picked it back up, did nothing, and released it to make a quick buck.

Am i the only one that gets annoyed by the slowed camera in second battlefront ? The first game does not have it but the second one does not let you get rid of it.
This is main problem for me. It takes 2 seconds just to turn around. It’s so slow it’s unplayable for me. No settings have helped in the slightest. Still looking for a solution.

Thats about the only thing that took time for me to get used to was how high the aim acceleration was. Its almost Halo 5 levels of aim acceleration, but the lock on and stick crosshair settings sorta mitigate that for me.
But besides that, even with all the collection's issues (which I have not experienced since playing Day 1), I'm enjoying the game.

Battlefront 1 has been perfect for me. I haven't tried multiplayer or the BF2 campaign at all so I didn't notice anything. After playing so much BF2, I've just been having fun playing BF1 again after years! I had no idea there were problems because it's been pretty good on single player BF1 but I haven't gotten to the other stuff yet, so I didn't know about the ending cutscene and whatever.
But the BF1 campaign was fine for me.🤷🏼♂️
The Battlefront games are great and now I can finally play Battlefront 1 again after years since I only had BF2 and BF1 was on my old console, and now it's in one game, and it has multiplayer for the first time!

any downgrade over the ALREADY EXISTING versions, is unacceptable. having entirely new and obvious issues shouldn't EVER make it into a rerelease. some issues are carried over from the old version, sure. but none of the "new" features are actually new, beyond a couple gamemodes on different maps.
This is unfortunately the standard now. Re-release old beloved games "remastered" in a broken state. Atleast they didn't get rid the OGs like Rockstar did

Hey fun fact about the multiplayer, if you’re hosting and you’re friends join on PS5. The first match will run fine, but after the first death in the 2nd match, everyone but the host gets locked on the respawn counter at 1 second. Wanna know why this is so funny? BECAUSE THIS BUG ALSO EXISTED ON THE BASE PC VERSION OF BATTLEFRONT 2. THEY DIDN’T EVEN FIX THE ONE FUCKING BUG FOR PRIVET MATCHES. Honestly as a steam controller player who plays single player for the most part, the thing that is turning me away is how horrible the sensitivitys are for controller. Especially for BF2. Its so slow even on 10 and then theres an acceleration mechanic that just makes it feel like ur dragging ur aim. Cant play the game like this

I thought I was the only one that has trouble with the controller sensitivity. I played on console for years and only played on PC for mods, but then went back to controller and it just felt off and too slow. But at least that seems to be with the game and others are having that so I don't feel as bad. I'm primarily a console player anyway lol

After a couple hours of dropping this original comment, i installed OG BF2 the OG xbox version to see if there was a diff in sens from the OG games to the classic collection. Then i went back to my PC and ran Classic Collection and tried out the sens and it felt pretty much the same as the old xbox version. So now idk if i was just originally wrong about the sens and its just that i’m not used to how sucky and slow it feels, or if the sens on the classic collection was actually really bad at launch and then they fixed it overnight to match the originals. Either way though, if they did fix it to match the originals, its still kinda sucks when ur coming from modern shooters lol 😂 havnt played the originals for years so i really wouldnt remember what the sens felt like. But rn the sens on Steam is definitely just about the same as the sens for the original version for og xbox at least from my personal testing so i would say its normal now
The originals have mods that are better anyways even merging the two games together

The Cantina Band music was a glitch from the original game. It was always attached to Hero Assault. For me it often ends with the removal of all sound for the rest of the playlist. It sucks, but it's just part of the original BF2.

Something almost nobody has talked about is that in the victory/defeat screen on bf2, they changed the key signature of the jingle that plays! Small detail but really jarring to me the first few times, had to get used to it

2:50-3:17 It's not just Hoth. EVERY campaign mission doesn't have the debrief cutscene after you finish. They all just go right to the results screen at the end and I don't know HOW they managed to do that.

My favourite thing in this game is how broken Galactic Conquest is. Can’t create a second fleet. Can’t choose bonuses or even skip picking one, it’ll randomly select every time. My GC save is soft locked because I only have a sabotage bonus purchased and the enemy AI keeps invading Dagobah, which has no vehicles. So I literally can’t start the match because it gets stuck on the select bonus screen and my only option is to Alt+F4.
Man that sucks, I’m kind of glad that I haven’t experienced that glitch… not to say I haven’t experienced any glitches, there have been A LOT. You just reminded me though that the the selecting texture that highlights the bonus you are currently hovering over doesn’t work so I cannot tell what I’m activating or buying, if I am doing either at all…
I hope this has taught people to stop pre-ordering games

I’ve played Battlefront (2004) for so long that I can tell, that there’s two sounds on the loading screen, one is “normal” pitch and the next one is much higher, so the actual issue would be that in the newer version both sounds are the same pitch.
So glad that my epic failure last night wasnxt a skill issue.
Players were jumping from here to there and everywhere. At first, I thought I was just bad, then I thought it was just a bad internet connection which I've never struggled with in the past.

Fun fact: modding bf2 classic takes less time than it does to download the 60 gigs of the classic collection, plus you can get cool maps like the some of the maps from the cancelled bf3. Though if on console you might be screwed and just forced to play the collection if you dont have old disc's laying around.
Is there a good tutorial for downloading the correct things for mods to work.

Just make sure you're putting the mods in the correct folder and make a backup before you start if you've never modded before, or you want to go back to the og version without having to reinstall.
The pain when I have the old discs lying around but have a computer that struggles to run the PC version and a PS3 with controllers that are so beat up from years of play that I can't play the PS2 versions which are also beat to help with lots of scratches.

If you play tatooine on gc as the droids the audio just cuts out immediately and doesn’t come back on in case you reset the game. Also shotguns are so broken in online they literally never work.
I’ve had that glitch happen to me multiple times on PS2, but the weird thing is, it’s never happened to me on Windows XP nor the other Steam release, and even for a while it didn’t happen on PS2, and then all of a sudden it started happening on PS2 and I was so sad cuz I loved playing Mos Eisley against the Seps
The multiplayer is quite stable now in terms of ping and lag, but the hit registration is horrific. Idk how they can mess it up so badly
For modding ive heard that pretty much none of the OG BF1 mods work. Theyll have to be remade. BF2 seems to be easier to get mods for now but most still wont work. But yea its confirmed these games are moddable.

The spawn invincibility timer is way too long. It’s set for 5 seconds. So when I’m trying to capture a command point they’ll be 5 invincible players that spawn in on top of me and it’s literally impossible to fight that.
Is that a thing? I can kill AI as soon as they spawn in normal matches or I get insta killed whenever I've played. I'm good to try multiplayer for the first time soon

If you're on PC just get the original and download the remaster mod. It's 100 times better than what Aspyr has done.

@@FlushedNoob I got it on PC hoping that with official servers it would be easier to join games with friends. I also was going to be more stable because the base versions on pc crash all the time. Turned out I didn't get either of those things with how bad servers are, and this version crashes just as much. Oh well I refunded it.
Even before it released it just seemed like a weird choice to get it on PC. No matter what they do, the mods on the old game will look 100x better and the game itself is like a dollar instead of fifty. I've had fun playing the game on PS5 since that's my preference but if I was a strictly PC person, I never would've gone for the Classic Collection.

I'm glad you brought up the Hero assault music glitch as I've had it happen to me + more glitches to do with the audio when it comes to Hero Assault. I've had all game audio cut and come back continuously when play hero assault outside of Mos Eisley when having the Music off (This also removed my commentary in the footage I was recording whenever the game audio cut out) And even when playing Hero Assault on Mos Eisley sometimes the game will play the theme of the hero you select rather than the music playlist you hear in Hero Assault.
Still had a blast in instant action outside of those few audio issues.

I just want a fix for offline problems. I mostly play offline and hoth textures are broken and blue, I can't use the droideka bcos it won't roll up, when leaving a vehicle it messes up my controls for a few minutes, sensitivity is awful and invisible walls and textures just to make a few (ps5)

I played through the entire 501st campaign and didn’t get a single end battle cutscene. I just gaslight myself into believing they weren’t there. Glad to see others are getting this glitch even if on select maps where as it was always for me.
Nice to see a video that pretty much lists all the problems that are in the classic collection.
Although one minor thing. It's not just the end cutscene for the last mission in Rise of Empire campaign. It's for all the end mission cutscenes in the campaign. They randomly don't play it after you complete a story mission.
Another glitch I ran into is a little texture bug that happens sometimes in Galactic Conquest. The overview of the Galaxy sometimes changes to like a texture implement of the different things in game.
There's also audio problems like there randomly sounds that randomly play loud or don't play at all.
Aside from those, I still try to have fun playing the game despite certain issues in the game.
This is strange. I haven't run into these problems except volume going dead in hero assault, and enemies freezing

My problem with it is not that it’s not fun to play. It’s that the game is fun to play not because they did a good job, but because of the base game itself, not because of the work aspyr put into it.
I noticed a couple more bugs.
On the space battles at the bottom of the doors, you can see the white Dev cube that's a trigger to open and close the doors showing when the OG is literally under the floor unseen where it should be.
Another glitch I found is on the hoth match while boosting the demolition medal is located in echo base behind the Falcon where the entire wall disappeared and you can literally see below the map. The boundary wall is still there but it isn't pleasant to look at anyway.
Overall though, the game is still the same like the OG where it is fun but the glitches are what's destroying the game's reputation.
To be honest the thing of the craits wasn't so bad even if I'm a FTP, the thing that I find anoying is that they disappeared out of blue.
For context: Imaging that you are FTP like me and because you want to obtain something good from the craits you accumulate every single day until you like 48 then one day out of nowhere the company decide to remove the craits and of course I lose all my 48 craits and to putted worse they didn't give like some sort of compensation or some cosmetics neither some things that I would probably get from the craits.
That is the story of how I lost a some craits that cost me almost half a year to collect(of course I didn't connect every day bc I was in school those days but you get the point).
I even put my claim in they oficial website and it already have pass like 5 years an nothing have happen😅.

I played the entire game in co-op on the day it was released. I hadn't touched the multiplayer. For me, Battlefront is more of a co-op game and not multiplayer and I didn't have any crashes while playing
When I heard of the application steam, when I was 6 I got battlefront 2 as my first game; I am now 18 to see this battlefront collection releasing on my birthday… now seeing this being soo different in my eyes was kind of wierd to me..

Single player is unplayable on XB.
Aiming is broken. It is impossible to hit fast moving targets like Jedi, jet pack troopers, and any enemy that is not moving on a straight axis.
It feels like, as you are aiming, someone is randomly changing your sensitivity from 1 to 20.
Honestly, this needed to happen. Let the Battlefront IP die and lay to rest in peace. Game developers need to make a new Star Wars IP that takes the ideas and concepts of the Battlefront games but in a new unique way. Clearly, the brand has suffered catastrophic damage.

Not sure about other consoles, but currently the Switch version of Battlefront 1 in the collection works great online, no lag, shots hit, no crashes, no players sliding around or anything. Just pure online battlefront! Sadly though most lobbies are still only hitting like 20 players even though the online is working great on Switch.

From what ive come across all custom map mods still work so long as they use the default eara. The mods that dont currently work are any that add new factions you can play as or ones that change dll files
At this point, i no longer trust any developers working on any starwars game. I played on switch and wasnt having any fun, the controls feel more clunky than the ps2
Except for the modding community that gave us a taste of what bf3 could be

love that you include some positives and voice your criticism with some humor! Liked and subscribed! I grew up with these on ps2 and got the collection for ps5. Im not a huge online gamer its a disappointment but its betyer looking on ps5 then ps2 and I can do single player and thats all i wanted so im happy as a clam but understand others issues. Haven't seen any single player issues yet my self but the music is hilarious.
As a IT engineer i have to say, network issues sometimes can't be foreseen. Hacking is currently happening, and it depends on who is hosting the servers. To automatically jump down their throats is abit early yet. Maybe if they tell us what the issue is then we can throw blame around. I really dont get the hate over a game from 20 years ago.
Games standards have dropped soo low these days. They are now a society that only care about putting in minium effort, then fix the games after they launch. It is pathetic! I have lost faith in the gaming industry. How dare they ruin the reputation of the original battlefront😢
They took two finished games and made them unfinished… Star Wars is a sinking ship
The purple spots on hoth was a glitch in the original game too. My brother used to get it on his PC years before the classic re-release version came out.
I haven't tried multiplayer or the BF2 campaign at all so I didn't notice anything. After playing so much BF2, I've just been having fun playing BF1 again after years! I had no idea there were problems because it's been pretty good on single player BF1 but I haven't gotten to the other stuff yet, so I didn't know about the ending cutscene and whatever.
I mean if they advertise 64 player multiplayer as big thing for this game. Yeah. It's a broken game. That's why most people got it since the originals won't be on these servers. So, no. I don't think people are harsh on the reviews. They have every right to bash on it on launch day. Also, we all assumed they will improve it from the originals.... And that did not happen.
What's really depressing about the classic collection is that corporate suits look at these events without any context.
EA Battlefront 1 & 2 were not well received for reasons that have already been long established. What I saw a lot following the disastrous EABF2 was "just remaster + rerelease the originals and we will gladly slap down $60." Now that they have done just that, all the corpos see is the same outrage preceding mass refunds. The only conclusion they're going to draw is "nobody wants Battlefront any more" and the IP is gonna get shelved indefinitely.

For some reason, the Hero Assault sound completely breaks. The sound completely stops which it never did before when I played.
I get that the offline works alright, but when it comes to spending 30 usd on a game that was focused on improved multiplayer only for it to not work is crazy. If I want to play single player, I’ll just buy the originals and get countless amounts of free content in the form of mods. You can already get improved graphics that arguably could be seen better as what aspyr is offering. I believe the overwhelming negative reviews is deserved.
The Remastered Project only changes and adds stuff to the textures, redoes maps and stuff. It doesn't add new units though just introduces skins of different legions, battalions, camoflagues etc.

Right when you said this, my single player game crashed I also experienced a fatal crash of system yesterday while trying to plan an online match with my friend.
Some of the bugs just kill the experience. Cant set any parameters when searching for a lobby or it crashes, and cant choose which team to play on when you do get into a lobby, making it hard to play as a team with friends. I've also had the glitch where the respawn timer gets stuck on 1, and the only solution is to leave the game. When I used a rocket launcher, sometimes the animation for the projectile just wouldnt appear when shooting, and I think thats where the seemingly random explosion deaths occur. It’s played quite well today. Still having trouble filtering lobbies or selecting, disappointed with the lack of players. It was a very rough first day, but glad they’ve made a few fixes already.
I remember the PSP version of BF2 having a similar problem with Hero Assault mode, with it pretty much always playing the Cantina music, almost exclusively. I guess it helps that the only map it was available on was Mos Eisley, but damn...
I’m not sure if anyone else is aware of this, but when it comes to Aspyr re-releasing games, this is the second time they’ve ported a game over in an unfinished and buggy state (Star Wars related specifically). When Aspyr re-released KOTOR 1 and 2, KOTOR 2 was almost entirely unplayable on the Nintendo Switch, and it took months before they were able to fix the issues in the game. My worry is that I’ll have to put down the classic collection for a few months before I can enjoy it the way that I’m hoping I can play it, with sustainable gameplay for online, but due to Aspyr’s track record with their previous ports I’m sadly left both disappointed and worried. They’ve already done this before, yet still haven’t learned from their mistakes.
The cantina music glitch was in the original version as well, it only ever happened to me on tatooine but I remember more often than not to be honest the soundtrack would cut out after about 30 seconds and would be replaced by full blast cantina, with sound effects gone
I bought the game for the off-line experience anyway, but the fact that I can’t save my progress after an instant action session is driving me crazy. It’s not so that I can carry it over in multiplayer. It’s for my personal off-line experience.. it’s supposed to do that, these guys didn’t even provide the base game
I played it on PC the moment it dropped was streaming at the time. The servers didn't work and crashed my game, but jumping into Galactic Conquest was a blast and I'd say if you have the space for this games absurd 70GB size, it's worth it for the fun it brings. Especially if you have a little brother, nephew, niece, or whatever that would like to play splitscreen with you
"Don't release a broken game to begin with" - while frustrating, how many other games released with issues, especially in their multiplayer components? Destiny, Diablo 3 Halo: Master Chief Collection, Fallout 76, No Man's Sky, Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy XIV. When I played, I didn't experience a majority of the issues everyone reported. I'm not saying those issues don't exist. I've been through the Steam reviews, and a lot of them aren't even valid criticisms of the game (i.e., "You may sit in this storefront but we do not grant you the rank of remaster"). You have some valid points, and some I even agree with. I've actually been in the 64-player matches, and though not perfect, it did work relatively well.
I wish they made the graphics like they in master chief collection where it’s old school and you can change it to modern and see the changes. That’s one thing of the things I loved about the master chief collection. I spent so much time walking here and there comparing what it looked like before to now. I thought with it have a 50+ gig download it would have something like that. Not all these bugs and multiplayer not working getting all that for 50+ gig download with the price tag.
The cantina music bug was also either on the xbox one with the Backwards compatibility and when i played it on the 360 if i remember correctly. Sad it wasnt fixed but for me its an old bug
I played the game on launch day after i came back from uni. Multiplayer was buggy etc with issues.
Yesterday in the evening i played it again and played for 3 - 4 hours online with almost no issues but sadly not full servers (only like 30ish players). Playing on the series X
Its sad that the release went like that but i hope it can somehow recover and get the players back.
Can we talk about how they removed The Outro Scenes after every Mission in BF2 Campaign?
That's right Aspyr, there MORE THAN JUST online multiplayer issues that plague Battlefront Classic Collection.
I was hoping to pick this up on PS5 but instead I'm going to wait it out until the game gets fixed, both for online and offline play. Aspyr better also fix the missing cutscenes that don't play in the Battlefront II campaign, the altered sfx, and restore the old in-game fonts (or use fonts that are very close). The new in-game fonts is so far, one of the only ways to tell from the classic releases to this 2024 re-release
Last night I was able to get into a MP match on BF1. It was laggy but still playable. Before even BF1 would crash even if I just went into the server search. I wasn't even mad that I was dying a lot (Which, tbf, even the best players die a lot), I was just happy to finally get into a playable match.
That was a smooth ad transition, I can’t even be mad about it 😂
