Hi, I have a Dell E7250, I would like to know if I can put a second SSD on the WWAN port? I don't know if it has the same port mSATA, but on the internet they say it is possible. Thank you for your reply.
Not imposable to adding to SSD only one, but ی have a problem :when adding new SSD the laptop wants me to enter password MacAfee! How to solve this uncomfortable problem? Plz if anyone can to help
Hi. Thank you for your video. In this vid you moved existing the 8GB stick of RAM from slot A to slot B and added a new 8GB stick of RAM to slot A so with the existing 8GB of RAM you now have a total of 16GB of RAM. And then you did the same to the SSD Hard Drive by moving the 128GB of SSD to the other hard drive slot and adding the new 250GB of SSD to the first slot for a total of 378GB of SSD hard drive. Is this correct? I understand that this model, which is what I have, the max RAM you can have is 16GB. I don't know what the max SSD hard drive this model can have? Can I add 2 new 250GB SSD hard drives, one for each hard drive slot, for a total of 500GB SSD hard drive capacity? Or, is adding the 1 250GB to the existing the best and highest capacity you can do for this model? I want to carry the highest hard drive so that I can easily sync my 250GB iPhone to my E7240. I had it set up to sync to my external hard drive but over time that connection got corrupted and I don't want to have to do it over again. I would rather update my RAM and hard drive on my laptop. It beats getting a new Dell as I'm not ready for that expense. Thank you.
@@LewysC I don't really remember i was looking around and might have read that in another tutorial but at that time i knew that.. You should try take a look and maybe try. I think if he does it this way too there's a reason. Not really sure 2 years after.. good luck
After msata SSD switsh to 250GB, do I need to go into computer and prep OS to recognize new hard drive. How do I transfer Windows to new SSD drive...I do not see that type of video here. Any feedback on this?
george retsinas, after you switch to a new SSD, You definitely will have to install an OS onto it. Transfer of OS from one harddrive to another isn't possible.
@@laypyu : Of course it is - before installing the new drive connect it to a usb port and use cloning software to copy everything including the OS from the old drive.
Steve Lewis, well that's good to know. What cloning softwares would you recommend? There used to be instances before that I wanted to work a new HDD like this, but it never happened.
@@laypyu In this video, he moved the existing 128GB SSD to the other hard drive slot so I'm wondering if the laptop would just recognize the same OS from the existing 128GB SSD hard drive?
I don't understand because where you put the second ssd it's where the WiFi card is for me? That's mean you take off you Wi-Fi card and don't have Wi-Fi or you have a solution for this? Than you a lot :)
It actually has 2 msata ports besides the one for the Wifi card. If you check on minute 3:00 you'll notice that the wifi card is installed right above where the second ssd is being installed and it was not removed. Even though the cables were placed on top of the ssd, the wifi card itself was not moved at all.
I'm trying to find out the same thing. What's the capacity for each SSD hard drive slot? In this video, he moved the 128GB over to the other SSD slot and added the new 250GB SSD for a total of 378GB of SSD. I'm wondering if you can add 250GB of SSD in each slot.
hi there and thx a lot for the tutorial it's real easy and quickly done.. do you know if I can do the same on e 7250 ? I've the same configuration under there.. let me know people.. thanks

One of the best reviews I have seen. Thank you.
I just performed a very similar update to my e7240. Was shocked to find out I could have two mSATA drives. Best laptop I have ever owned.
It is interesting!! thanks for sharing!
What is the type of DDR please? Ddr 3 or ddr4 ?
Ddr3
Lol, metoo, just bought the 480 one
Very nice video. Love the soothing music. I was doing this at work & I needed that. Thank you..
Very good upgrade video, with benchmarks. This is time consuming work! Great video, and very much appreciated!
simple et bien pratique, merci ! a donné une seconde vie à mon portable
détail, on peut faire du dual boot via le firmware via la touche F12 au boot
simple and straight-forward. thank you.
Very concise and clarifying , and beautiful hands BTW
He could do ASMR 😂
I didn't notice that it has 2 slots for SSD. Thanks for that!
Have you learned what each SSD hard drive slot can hold? I'm hoping 250GB SSD each?
Best Tech Video, Thanks now i can upgrade my laptop ❤
Very nicely done! Thanks😀👍🏽
Good video and very nice music. Thanks
Thanks a lot :)
thank you VERY much!!!!
You may need to match same size of memory on both banks for maximize performance. Thanks for the video.
+Shawn Moon In a RAID 0 configuration, yes.
I like it!!!
Thanks for this info :) easy peasey, now the laptop has 2 disks inside.
wondering, what's the blue cable for? it's together with the wireless cable.
What screwdriver are you using?
👍👍
Is it possible to boot from that SSD slot?
Now in 2022 with A29 BIOS will this laptop work with 32GB RAM, and dual 1TB SSD?
seems easy enough
sory, this is touch or non touch version of e7240 ?
Can this dell E7240 support up to 16gb ram or only 12?
I want to buy one so it has an i7 4600u,could i use a egpu on this laptop?

Nohad El Khatib I have that same doubt! I have an E7250 as well. Were you able to put a mSata in the WWAN / HCA input?

What's the function of that cables?
why not put the new hard drive in the second port? and not deal with all the switching?
because the second one is not valid for that drive capacity..
Flo LFO how do you know and why is that
Yepp.. why??
@@flolfo6235 Shouldn't they have the same capacity? They're both the same sata ports just used for different things

me too. I was try to open the cover and move to sata2 but slot smaller.
You instead of wwan installed ssd m?
I think it's probably the slot for the bluetooth. Or just spare. The Wlan is the smaller one above.
Yes, he put the msata SSD in the WWAN slot.

Wan card for use sim network for 3g 4g
I HAVE SLOT SPACE BUT NOT SSD SOCKET IN DELL E7240.
IF ADD SOCKET AFTER USED EASILY😮😮
Does this device have m.2 port for PCIe SSD?
it's an MSATA.
Is it a 2.5" ssd?
thats an m.2 sata sd, idk what size though
how we insert sim
Will this still work
2020 I love this laptop
Tolong. Ajarin caranya
This is terrible. The laptop has 2 ssd slots and not sata but mSata. You don't have to move the ram, just install in the second slot.
so can I put a mSATA drive in any laptop's WWAN slot?
Y
