Dell Latitude e7440 SSD Upgrade

  • I bought this dell latitude e7440 and m500 ssd decided to upgrade adding more space. Next upgrade in plan is to add another 8GB of memory once I can find a reasonable price for a use memory stick.

      I got a 1tb hard drive from old laptop but it doesnt fit on this one laptop behind doesnt close fully when I put it in I dont know if i should use it even tho it doesnt close or not

    So the ssd doesn't need a bracket? It's not screwed to anything.

      Is very difficult to find a spacer for this laptop nowadays, do you think using a normal double-sided duct tape could be enough?

    I believe it's a mSata not a M2. moreover, you would shouldnt leave the SSD loose, instead hold it nice and tight with a spacer as shown in this other vide czcams.com/video/vaBMARwzPF4/video.html

      Yes i guess thats an msata too,this model doesn't support an M.2

    2.5 SSD bracket should be attached.

    M.2 SSD speed is like SATA 3 speed. The speed is the same. No improvement.

      Topspeed no, overal speed; yes. SSD performance is much better then a harddisk, because ssd's handle small files much faster then any harddisk out there.
