    I had no freaking idea this game was even a thing! I remember the original on the PlayStation and loving it. I never played the second game but I'm sure it's absolutely fantastic. Why am I still here? Buying this right now.
    Addendum- I decided to give my Series X some love and am waiting for the download to complete. I can't believe I'm going to be playing Klanoa again!

    Game. Totally. Worth. It.
    100%. Fucking love these - still own my ps1,2 and Wii copies. And bought this the second it came out.

      is the Door to Phantomile on this the same as the wii version?

    I felt the cutscenes didn't look as good as they originally did (stylistically). Also, I miss the really good looking CGI videos which were replaced with the real-time cutscenes which looked nothing like their counterparts. That being said, I enjoyed playing through the first one again. Klonoa 2 is up next.

      I repeat myself, but these are last gen graphics. There were mistakes made with PR. It's unfortunate.

    I loved the game and would recommend it to everyone, but was it just me or compared to the insane trilogy and spyro remakes it felt bare bones? Bamco probably didnt want to drop much money in the project. They should have added some reward for getting all the dream stones atleast. I hope it does well, love the klonoa games and would love more. Especially after how creative the puzzles got in the gba games

    • @andruindepad6692
      @andruindepad6692 Před rokem +2

      No you're absolutely right. I bought the remakes for Crash, Spyro, and Medieval. All of those games were released 3+ years ago, and yet they had so much polish it was astounding. Klonoa PR is very shallow in comparison. I think certain aspects were actually downgrades, and for the things that were better, we're talking PS3 level graphics. I also hate how they nerfed the wind bullet - very annoying.
      And I completely agree about the dream stones. I was thinking that one day too when I noticed people complaining about the lack of content. Why not have the dreams stones act as a sort of currency, which you can then use to buy silly extras in some kind of shop. New costumes or upgrades or something. I don't know, but it would have been nice.

      @@andruindepad6692 Yeah my guess is Bandai Namco didnt really give them much of a budget for the game which is why there was much bells and whistles compared to other remakes. They didnt nerf the wind bullet? The easy mode actually made its range longer, I replay door to phantomile every year and the game was honestly a better remake gameplay wise compared to Crash 1 in the n sane trilogy. I agree some of the graphically stuff was a bit eh but thats mostly in door to phantomile imo the end cut scene stands out as worse then the ps1 version imo some of the stages they took away some of the cooler visual elements I liked such as the falling sand effect when you run over platforms in the moon kingdom stages. I think it was based more off the wii make or that was used as a base for that game.
      Klonoa 2 is 1:1 the same with just updated visuals which look good imo. The dream stones stuff was so dumb they kept the same reward thats in Klonoa 2 with the scrapbook, even if that was added into Door to Phantomile it would have been better. Also dont understand the point of the costume dlc haha its a single player game

      @@exiaR2x78 Regarding the wind bullet, I do think it was the same as in the original Phantomile. However, for Lunatea - and admittedly it's been a while since I played - I honestly don't remember the range being so short. There were several times in PR where I was basically on top of enemies, which I don't remember being the case in the original. I watched a YT video of someone playing the original 2, and it seemed to me the wind bullet went further.
      Certain things about 2 looked a bit off to me. Like Tat and Leorina not being shadowed in their first scene, and the water in the Sea of Tears lacking its waves. A shame, because I loved looking at the Sea of Tears. Overall, yes, the graphics were improved. However, I feel like K2's improvement were kind of minimal as I don't recall a single moment where I thought "Wow! I remember that from the original game. Look at it now!" Honestly, I feel the graphics were PS3. And yeah, it was incredibly cheap to ask people to spend more money for DLC when it doesn't even sound that great.

    • @exiaR2x78
      @exiaR2x78 Před rokem

      @@andruindepad6692 Yeah tbh I havent played Lunatea's veil as many times as I have with Door to Phantomile but I did replay it over the last Christmas break. Im pretty sure its the same just cause the parts that gave me trouble with the wind bullet in PR were the same parts that gave me trouble in the PS2 version.
      Yeah def I feel like with K2 cause they took away the cell shading that was used in the PS2 version it didnt look as good as it could have. That being said I cant say any of them remakes ive played on PS4 have left me with any wow factor visually compared to the originals at there time of release. I think its just due to the general art style of platform games?
      Yeah def I dont understand the point of it haha costume DLC you'd need a co-op online mode similar to LBP to justify wanting to buy costumes imo. Just hope Bandai Namco dont look to much at DLC sales as a metric for justifying future titles cause I cant imagine them being high. The game seems like its been selling really well and Klonoa getting a nendoroid gives me hope for future games. Hopefully they get more of a budget next time

    Bamco gave the furries a bone? They are in for it now.
    Jokes aside it is nice to get these games on a modern system. If this does well maybe we can get a tomba remake. Platforming ain’t dead yet.

      Tomba i would have said has zero chance of coming back since whoopee camp shut down. Though Tokuro Fujiwara worked on the ghost n goblins remake a few years back and whoopee camp was in the credits so who knows whats going on there. We were lucky we got the psone classic releases of the tomba games on ps3

    Meh, its a kids platformer from the 90s. Except for the resolution boost, I don't see why I'd want to play this over the originals

      Lol I’m also on the fence or picking this up for $30 to $40 on eBay it looks so childish to me if you had to choose between scott pilgrim and this game which would you
