I don't think it's possible to understand how good leo is. I mean, do anyone realize that we will probably never witness a player like him again in this sport. It's just too much. He is the complete player. He got it all. He has transcended the game of football. Everything before him should be known as the pre-messi era, and after he quits, it will be the post messi era. Because during his active years, the art of football got taken to new levels, new dimensions, such that will never be seen again. I don't think people appreciate him enough. When he quits, football will NEVER be the same again. Never. Please appreciate him. He is a gift from god, enjoy while it lasts. Because what he does on the pitch is greater than the symphonies of mozart, the art of picasso and the stories of shakespear. PEOPLE, this, this right here is the absolute peak of football. no one has or ever will reach a peak like this ever again simply the greatest player of all time.
Not just his dribbles or out-of-no-where goals but his ability to withstand immense pressure, control the ball in tight spaces, nick off the ball from the opponent just in time and especially latching onto seemingly overhit passes or loose balls are underrated assets of his impressive skillset.
I am 28 years old fan of Real Madrid, in this his prime i was 19 years old and i remember what a player he was, and i really hated him that he was destroying us. Now i really appreciate this guy and i truly missing him. Such a enjoying that i was watching him in his prime.

He is without a doubt in my opinion the greatest athlete of all time. Nobody was as good as he was in his sport. He absolutely dominated statistics but stats don't define him at all. He plays the game at a such a diff and unthinkable level its absolutely mesmerizing. I cant even put words to describe this human. Such a special human being here off and on the field. I think 09-10 is one level above 08-09.Many people don't acknowledge it but this was the major breakthrough of Messi being regarded from world's best in 08-09 to the generational legendary talent that he is, especially at the last half when he put up some unbelievable performances in Ch.l and La Liga (Arsenal,Zaragoza,Valencia,
Stuttgard etc).
When in 08-09 it was mostly the breakthrough of the legendary Barcelona Pep team with Messi being the best player of this team.
From next season people started realizing what we were witnessing and compared him to myths of the game.

Nah cr7 does not have more longevity. Cr7 started his career early but started shining about the same time as Messi 06/07. When they both started . Cr7 entered his prime in 2008 and Messi started his prime in 2009.

When I watch this video, the stats, the records, I tell myself that there is no debate possible. leo's performance this season is the best performance in football history and quite possibly will be forever. I've been interested in football for 2 years now, and the more I learn about the past but also the present, the more I watch video showing the best moments of the best players in football history, the more I realize that Lionel Messi is the greatest footballer in history and by far, far. Cristiano, Pelé, Maradona, Cruyff, do not even have 3/4 of his talent. This little guy marked the history of sport, or even history itself. To summarize this season in a few words: Goals, goals and more goals. Not only was it Leo's best ever season goal-wise with 73 (!) goals in 60 games, but it was the most goals scored in a season by any player in the history of the modern game. He also broke César's 57 year old record of 232 goals in a Barcelona shirt making him the all time top scorer of the club only 24 years old. His 50 league goals which won him the European Golden Boot was the most ever in a La Liga season and he won yet again the Ballon d'Or in January. It's safe to say there have been very few seasons better than Messi's 2011/12 season in the history of football.

Increíble la facilidad con la que se quitaba los rivales de encima este tipo, lo hacía ver demasiado fácil. Hoy día ya no hace lo mismo, este para mi fue el mejor momento de Messi en su carrera, si el mundial hubiese sido en 2012, seguramente lo hubiera ganado, estaba en modo bestia.
Tal cual, si vamos al 2011 en lo que es explosión y dribble fue insano pero ese año para mí fue mucho mejor porque al margen de esa faceta goleadora y más asistidora fíjate que estaba mucho más groso físicamente, entonces prácticamente no lo podían parar excepto con una falta fuerte ya que era un toro una vez que arrancaba. Para mí el Messi más completo que jamás haya existido fue el de esa temporada. Una pena que hayan ganado poquito en lo que al Barcelona respecta.
@@julianolivera7264 si esa temporada si se hubiese ganado la champions hubiese sido para mi creo que la mejor temporada de champions de messi o en general maldito Chelsea ese era el pique mas alto de leo en la era guardiola , y como dice Daniel Andres ☝si el mundial hubiese dio en ese año creo que llegaba al menos a la final pero creo que no tenia un equipo tan bueno como ese barca hay dudo un poco, pero el mundial nunca coincidió el en el mejor momento de messi

@@borutobr7522 Messi was consistently better than CR7 from 2009-2013 no doubt about that. Ronaldo was better in 2014. Messi in 2015 was better. And on the field, messi was better than cr7 in 2016, 2017 and 2018. But sadly ballondor is decided by trophies so cr7 won them. The only time ever ronaldo was better was in 2014.
