There’s so much thinking you do that goes in before the action of putting things together … it shows Sal! Thank you for the vids and hope the holiday break will be refreshing and full of joy for you and loved ones
Thanks, same to you, and yes, there is a lot of planing.
Going home early is one of the best benefits for us old guys!
Yes it is, I partake as much as possible. 😊
64 years young - I wish You many more joyful years to come! Your videos helped me renovate my main bathroom properly and saved me a minimum of 9k. I owe You big time lolol Thanks again!
Glad I could help!
Super glad you capture all this work for us .... how you had to move forward and go back in steps to move forward again has been a huge education. Always PRO!
Always Pro
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@SalDiBlasi Glued into watching the whole thing to completion ... should I use unmodified or modified mortar as I watch from the edge of my seat at the computer? Thanks Sal ... see ya next vid
Good morning Mr Diblasi I just want to say watching your videos gives me the opportunity to learn from a person that loves his craft I don’t do to much tile work myself but when I do I make sure I follow all your advice and my customers always comment and are mesmerized by attention to detail work and even though I don’t have too many years on under my belt tiling it shows by the work I do. And I always tell them about your channel.
Keep up the good work 👍
Happy Hollidays 🎊
Thanks, glad it helped It's my pleasure
What a great idea, fast simple and what better way to use up scrap material.
Glad you like it!
Love the videos. Ive been wanting to go out on my own doing tile for a few years. All your videos really teach me how to do things right. Hopefully starting my own business in next few months. Thanks for all the great knowledge
Get some training from manufacturers and the NTCA it is all pretty much free.
Another great job Sal,, lol I'm like you on this. Happy to go home early if I can't produce at work. And coincidently I just layed a whole bunch of those marble porcelain tiles you are doing. The have super sharp corners on them, I just finished grouting today, yay !
When you get to a certain age, your priorities change.
King tiler does it again. Sal seems to amaze me on new stuff all the time. Great work sal as always. Winni says your the Godfather of tile he so right.
Ha, looking forward to the 16th.
I'm only 53 and ready to go home early everyday. Packing the tile into a place is enough to finish me off these days. :)
You and me both!
Bravo señor .!
Always A1 work!
😊👍
Sal i followed your vid on installing the corner floating bench. The client wants me to heat it also. Do I gouge out the Waterproof board to snake the wire up then seal it on the wall to get it to the bench OR surface mount the run up. Using subway style 3x12. 5/16 inch thick
Sal, great work! I was looking everywhere in your old videos, but I couldn't find any info how you are dealing with dirty water, for example in the buckets where I see you are cleaning your tools and the mixer? Are you reusing the water or throw it away, somewhere?
Let the water settle over night, the sand and gunk will go to the bottom, just water on top that you can easily dispose of.
Hi Sal,
All of your videos and work expertise at top notch. A lot to learn from pro experienced tile installer.
I do have one quick question. When you do install example floating corner bench quartz piece bit cement Durock boards are already installed on the walls. What would you suggest to install as a support or advice? Not really looking to remove cement Durock boards now but little of your advice would help a lot.
I have quartz corner piece that I would be using for floating bench. Also installing wall subway tile 3" x 6"
Should I install additional support under the quartz piece or just let it seat on the tiles, I'm afraid tiles won't hold it well.
Thank you in advance!
Use one of these amzn.to/3K1HylV
Love your videos. I've seen your videos where you do this with Kerdi Fix. When you're saying "sealant" here, were you just using Hydroban sealant to glue the cleats to the wall board?
That is correct
@@SalDiBlasi Amazing that it's that strong. Thanks so much for replying and for all your videos!
Following to see how you are gonna tile that
If I get the corner seats, there will be a video on it today.
Did you add blocking behind the corner so you can screw the cleats into wood? I can't see how the Hydroban board alone is strong enough to support a person's weight, especially if they were to sit and lean forward.
The adhesive once dry is extremely strong. The screws are just to hold it in place while the adhesive dries. It will hold my weight no problem.
What brand/ type of blue tape do you use? I know its a minor thing but I have been using lots of painters tape of high quality but want to also buy a wider good quality tape like the type you use for holding things together while they dry and prep work.
#M stuff cost an arm and a leg.
@@SalDiBlasi I bet but it's good.
Go home buddy! Haha! Your awesome man. Hey, do you have a video on preparing the tile for grouting? You mentioned that you cleaned up all the thinset between tiles?????
No, time to make one.
@@SalDiBlasi what! You went home early, haha. No worries, have a great holiday!
Hey Sal, by installing seats in this manner how do you actually pitch the seats so water runs off? Thanks
Not a problem, addressed that in todays video. czcams.com/video/2JWi0NszrvM/video.html
Thank you. What kind of sealant are you using?
Laticrete sealant
Thank you. I'm about to do this on Monday. I can't find the kerdi zb profile to slip over the front for support anywhere local. You think it will be strong enough without that profile?
Am really interested in how you price your jobs can you do a video on that ?
He is the most up tight dude when it comes to let you know any of the real info
@@strongholds12 lol i wonder why
@@strongholds12 and by “real info” you just mean pricing. There is plenty of real info coming from Sal
Well actually, going to be doing something about that with Winni soon. czcams.com/users/WinniDesignsLLC
