Pro tip: When pressing bearings into a housing you must press against the outer race of the bearing. When installing a shaft through a bearing, you must support the bearing on the inner race. Otherwise you'll damage the ball bearings and the tracks they roll in.

Не делайте так, как этот мастер. Направляющие данного устройства не выдерживают ни какой крмтики. Выполненные из трубы, они элементарно не выдержат максимального давления домкрата, а результатом будет "выстрел" и разлет составляющих пресса.
4 штока от передних автомобильных стоек по углам, верхнюю плиту просверлить и закрепить гайками на резьбу на штоках... Думаю, будет крепче и ход ровнее.
Идея хорошая, но только мелочевка прессовать, а так малецшая не ровность и на перекос пойдёт, так как 2 оси а не 4.
Этим только подшипники в часах менять больше они не выдержат
Great idea,
Though the jack need not be bolted to the base. An outer boundary of small bolts can be done at the base plate to fix it at one position. The jack can then be removed and used for other purposes as well.
The slider assembly shall be independent of the jack. Jacks of suitable power can be inserted for varying requirements.
Some kind of horizontal stabilization is also required while working the jack handle.
My motto- A general purpose tool for multiple usage, rather than a tool fixated and enslaved to single usage..
@@larryd9753 You have to specify the area of plates to get pressure values. 12 tonnes is a force or weight value.

@@larryd9753 well, that's going to stretch your budget a lot. A 10 ton jack costs around $500 here in India. Add to that the much stronger support structure required. I think this will take me anywhere near $750. Amplify that suitably for your country.

Nicely done, good for small projects. However, like someone here said before me, you ruined that bearing. Never apply pressure without support exactly on the opposite side. When you press in the axle or the gear on... The bearing is toast or will be very soon. Still, cool home press.

GroovyDrifter I wondered about that too. I think the bottle jack is probably 5 ton rated but the applications he used it for are probably not.

As guides they are likely to work great but I would ad the thickest all-thread I could fit through those pipes and just ad a plywood base to make room for the bottom nuts as I doubt those pipe threads will take more than 1 ton let alone 5...
Just use round bar instead of threaded rod... cheaper. Use a die to cut your own threads on top and bottom as needed.

Концепция прикольная. Но.... во первых болты м6 против домкрата, это по конструкции) во вторых, прессовать подшипник, при этом давить оправкой на сепаратор) а затем прессовать вал при этом подложить оправку на корпус подшипника)))) забил бы молотком, тот же эффект был бы))))

Верхняя упорная плита держится 4 болтами, такой пресс для часового мастера.
I'm.surprised there was no drilling Orr tapping lube used. The top plate and the bottom plate should have been made from 4x2 heavy wall channel. The pillars should have been inserted through the channel and held in position with a nut on each side.
