- Our latest travels take us to the Dominican Republic during the pandemic. Casa de Campo Resort is a 7,000 acre community in La Romana. Featuring 3 Pete Dye designed golf courses including Teeth of the Dog (rated #1 in the Caribbean) as well as a marina, equestrian center, shooting course, white sand beaches, & restaurants. Each guest gets their own personal golf cart to get around.
Following safe traveling protocols is extremely important and not taken lightly. No golf carts were harmed in the making of this video.

Very upscale. Many famous people own villas there. Frank Sinatra had a concert on that amphitheater.

Did you guys do any horseback riding and shooting?
Not on this trip, they were both closed due to the pandemic. I did both on a previous trip and it was a lot of fun!

Is Casa de Campo just the resort area or a small city? Thanks for anyone that can answer
It's basically a very large neighborhood, but since it includes multiple restaurants, sporting activities like horseback riding & skeet shooting, and the area's largest marina it has more than many small cities. The area is over 7,000 acres and includes many luxury homes along with the famous golf courses and resort amenities.

Live music and dancing?
As of December 2020, there was not any live music and dancing. Altos de Chavon DR has a Facebook page that seems to be the most up to date. You could keep an eye on that for opening dates at the amphitheater and other venues.

I visit plenty times DR. But this place looks boring.
Many activities like horseback riding, the shooting range, the theater and general social gatherings were closed due to the pandemic. Fortunately, my wife and I enjoy each other's company enough that we were never bored. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy my performance at the amphitheater :)
I Would say it's more for romantic scape or quite family time, at night in the marina and Altos the Chavon there are many nice restaurante, but it all depends on What are you looking for.
