My husband and our son is pictured in the If You Had Wings, riding into the globe. I loved that ride and went to all the changed attractions. When I took my grandson on the Buzz Lightyear, I was trying to remember where past views were placed. Air conditioned, the tunnels….loved it all. Thank you for a great trip back in time.
This was actually my favorite attraction from 1972 to 1975". Two reasons, the air condition worked well, and you didn't need an E-Ticket. In fact you could ride it over and over for free. When I saw the people holding hands walking across this amazing waterfall, I was memorized. That waterfall was actually in Jamaica (Duns river falls)

Wonderful video! If You Had Wings was the WDW answer to Disneyland’s Adventure Thru Inner Space (which was later gutted and became Star Tours at DL in 1987). They were sister attractions and used the same Omni Mover system, although the cars were slightly different.
Very well done! One addition regarding the locations spotlighted in If You Had Wings. The waterfall sequence showing swimmers happily moving about was Dunns River Falls in Jamaica. Eastern at the time in the days before airline deregulation in 1978 had a virtual monopoly on the routes in these areas so going there usually meant you were going to have to book Eastern.
Came to say this. I'm 50 years old and loved if you had wings as a kid. A few years ago I went to Jamaica and got to climb the falls. When I got to that part of the falls I geeked out and yelled. Holy crap! This is it! My wife had no idea why I was so excited.
IYHW was one of my top favorites and I also liked the Flight iterations. The original was like a cross between the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros and Soarin', and that's a good combination! Thanks for the trip back!
Fantastic retrospective! Something that’s been driving me crazy is the introduction part of the “If You Had Wings” song in the background from 2:36-2:58. The full ride audio is in low quality, but this is the only place where I’ve heard it in such good quality and it doesn’t sound like the demo. Do you have this part of the ride audio and, if possible, could you share it? I’ve been looking for it for a long time!

I did love this ride and It’s first replacement If You Could Fly. Remember the 2 songs from those rides ‘til today!
