How does the concept of under hood heat soak overtime thus effecting air density not make sense? The construction of the intake will help or not help breath in the effected air density change. You don't have that with an open hood. "The S&B kit... er, JLT kit." and "This is over the factory cold air that WORKS WITH THE HOOD SCOOPS"........... that you guys didn't even use.

how would this intake be affected any worse than factory from under hood temps? Be difficult to use the hood on a stationary dyno. The JLT mimics the factory setup just with a larger box which imo would created a better air gap to insulate from the under hood heat. They also use a larger filter that provides substantial surface area to help the engine breath. As well as a larger smooth intake path to the throttle body. all adds up to better air flow, less heat = more power.
