Well from what I've always understood about about Doomsday's powers is that you can never kill him the same way twice, so throwing him into the sun could work, I would also think there is a difference between a concentrated beam and a big burning star. I don't see how he be able to survive it, being burned alive at 5,778 K, granted if he was able to take it I'm sure he still be a hurting unit.

people saying the writing was stupid,you need to realize doomsday 'Wanted' to lose to superman and combine with him and become the most powerful being in the universe.but it didn't really turn out as he expected.
First off, the way it was explained is not combining with someone, it's passing on a virus. Doomsday is apparently the result of a virus in the new 52 otherwise that in itself is bad writing, also the whole metamorphosis from a larva is dumb. On top of this the Hulk thing is already being used and then the "Super Brainy Doom" go fuck me with a telephone pole.
The one remotely interesting thing here was the end Brainiac entering the omniverse, but that'll likely turn into a war of the world's bull crap fest

man, i wish i had found this channel sooner. i love comics with a passion and i can't really afford to buy as many as i'd like so this allows me to at least keep up. although i did make sure to get this arc as doomsday is my absolute favorite villain. i can't say im happy with what they did with him in this universe but it was an interesting story.

I still think the issue isn't with Superman, but with the readers if all they can see is Superman being powerful and getting more powerful, completely ignoring everything else in-between

Green Lanterns by default, especially Kyle, are OP, and Batman is depicted as nigh-omniscient and able to take hits that far more durable superheroes are floored by, so your argument doesn't hold much water here

To be fair comic book writers tend to realese these issues to see what would people think of these senarios and whether or not to continue them. True Superman tends to be a little underpowered but when issues like injustice are released it brings a whole new level of entertainment and even though some people complain most people love that series and if you love the series who gives rats buttocks what other people think.they like the nostalgia of a more classic Superman and others like a fresh take. I personally like the series among many.
It's easy for Superman to beat this now extremely OP Doomsday.
Just fly INSIDE the sun and live there for about a month or two.
(To give you an idea on how powerful Superman would become over this period of time, he was able to move the entire planet with just 15 minutes inside the sun)
Fly back at light speed, rip Doomsday into three pieces.
Bury one at Earth's inner core.
Throw one into the sun to be incinerated.
Incinerate the remaining one with heat vision.
Done.

Superman is probably my favorite character in all of fiction, but even I'm not gonna defend how stupid this story got. It was really interesting up until they said that Doomsday can kill Clark in one punch but then Clark just up and overpowers Doomsday anyway. Everything after that just felt like a series of forced plot twists with no clear direction whatsoever.
And it bugs the hell out of me because the creative team has done great Superman stories before. This one smells of editorial over-intervention, pushing for what they (mistakenly) thought was a good story idea.

There are some strange similarities between this story and the manga Naruto for some reason to me. Superman had a some sort of mental cage that's locking Doomsday in, which is quite similar to Naruto's seal for Nine Tails. Also, The fact that Brainiac wanted to create a new world so he can reunite with his family is kind of similar to Obito's dream of making a new perfect world where he can unite with Rin. Kind of random to talk about Naruto in a DC comics video but i find those similarities quite interesting.

Also, i remember in one of the first few chapters of Detective Conan, the story behind a painting showing a dead devil and a blood-dyed knight was told:
A brave knight fought the devil with all his might, and he finally overpowered and killed him, but the devil's blood that held his evilness and power was seeping into the wounds of the knight, who eventually became the reborn devil himself. I don't know much about that story, but it might be folklore from somewhere and it's just too similar to this story arc to not be related to it.

Super Brainy Doom’s telepathy is useless against deadpool because he is immune to psychic attacks, but Super Brainy Doom doesn’t even need psychic attacks. Deadpool definitely has really fast regeneration and even thought it is thought that he is immortal, fast regen doesn’t make you immortal. It is confirmed in the comic that matured doomsday can OHKO superman and supes combined with doom is even stronger than matured doomsday, therefore OHKOing deadpool immediately turning him into nothingness, giving him no chance to regenerate.

An event that brings old multiverse worlds (and the old continuity) together. Flashpoint version vs Old version. Kingdom come vs Parallax Green Lantern. Fighting the Doomsday infection thing is like doing something really important but really needing to take a shit, you can hold your shit in and go on for a bit longer, then it comes back at you with full force, but you still hold it in and keep doing your thing.

So... the Doomsday Virus in Superman, Batman's amnesia, the Amazo Virus, the JL turning into New Gods, etc and so forth... and yet, none of these actually plays a part in any other story they are in...
And you'd think, especially with Superman having Rao altered DNA, the Doomsday Virus and the Amazo Virus all at the same time, there would be some sort of interaction.

Full grown Doomsday can kill you with one punch and has a radioactive force field. No problem just fly him into space laser eye him and rip him in two. Contracts a doomsday virus? Whatever, just think really hard about being cured.
This is why people hate the character. Not only is there no real threat due to superman being astoundingly overpowered but also because the writing is fucking awful.
And now we have an amalgamation of Brainiac the smartest being in dc a full grown Doomsday and Superman.

this is one of the coolest superman stories ever in my opinion.
I watched this as I have no real intention of dealing with Superman outside of animation/film, and really, this story was ridiculous.

I think DC needs better writers for Superman, killing Sups with 1 punch eh??? Wow, now i see why everyone says that Batman has better writers.
Of all the crossovers and events that went down during The New 52 era, "Doomed" was and still is the best of them, in my opinion. :D

Doomsday didn't just nearly kill Superman. Doomsday full blown killed Superman. Hence the title of the story arc Death of Superman. I don't understand why fans and writers always misinterpret this blatantly obvious fact.
Its not a misinterpretation. He didnt kill him, he brought him so close he went into a Kryptonian healing coma that looks like death to humans. Thats how he came back, he just healed eventually

Comicstorian, that's not true. Superman WAS technically dead. Phantom Stranger said so when he was explaining to Superman exactly what happened. It was a rare combination of things and events that brought him back albeit in that Kryptonian "catatonic" state, and then Eradicator's shenanigans eventually led to Superman's full revival.

My mistake: it was Dr. Occult, not Phantom Stranger. These were his exact words:
"Make no mistake, his spirit had fled his body. The energies stored within the body preserved it temporarily. Still, sealed off in that tomb, it would eventually have perished. And then, there could have been no return."
He then explains that the combination of Jonathan Kent's spirit (who had suffered cardiac arrest) reaching out to Superman's spirit, and the Eradicator putting Clark's body in a Kryptonian regeneration matrix had put Superman in the "healing coma" that set him on the path to revival. Superman didn't "fall" straight into the coma. He died, and then an improbable combination of events upgraded his status from "dead" to "healing coma".
Dr. Occult finishes his explanation with this:
"Never Forget, his spirit HAD left the body. A whole chain of events -- physical and metaphysical -- combined with things both of the Earth and of Krypton to restore him to life. And some of those elements no longer exist. Your will to live is strong, Superman, but your resurrection is not a repeatable phenomenon. You are mortal, and someday you will die. As must we all."
