- The Delhi Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (Delhi-Meerut RRTS) is an 82.15 km (51.05 mi) long rapid rail corridor that will connect Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut. It is one of the three rapid rail corridors planned under Phase I of the RapidX project managed by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). With a maximum speed of 180 km/h (110 mph), the distance between Delhi and Meerut will be covered in less than 60 minutes. The project is being executed at a cost of ₹30,274 crore (US$3.8 billion). It will have 14 stations and two depots at Duhai and Modipuram.
The foundation stone for the project was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March 2019, and construction began in June 2019.[8][9] The project's first phase, or the 17 km (11 mi)-long priority corridor from Sahibabad to Duhai, was expected to become operational by March 2023.[10] However, due to pending works in some stations, especially in Ghaziabad, it got delayed. It was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 20 October 2023, and the rest of the entire 82 km (51 mi)-long corridor will be opened by June 2025.

@@mr.vaibhav1364 kyunki abhi bohot chota priority section open hua hai, jo ki auto/cab/bus/personal vehicle seh bhi cover kiya jaa sakta hai. Jab, 1-2 years main, pura meerut - delhi open hoga, toh rrts will be primary mode of travel.
For those crying about low ridership.
1- There IS footfall during peak hours
2- This strech is really small and operates just within 1 city ie Ghaziabad (Sahibabad too comes under Gzb Distt)
3- Current RRTS route doesnt have proper connectivity with Delhi Metro Lines. Gzb RRTS station is not "directly" connected to Delhi Metro Red Line Shaheed Sthal Station (No footover bridges yet)
4- Once the line connecting Nizamuddin starts, then you'll see proper RUSH. Nizamuddin strech alone will connect the RRTS with 3 Delhi metro stations, 2 major Indian Railway station and 3 ISBTs.
So let the line become operational on full swing.
Also, Ask Dalli Gormint to release funds on time.

Ncrtc is a different organisation that works independently from IR . That's why it is efficient.
RRTS and Metro do not come under Indian Railways. All are independent

it's because its not fully functional currently. only few stations are currently functional. once the entire network gets going, it will be full.

Besides massive rise in GDP 5 tn ambitious mark in near future. Power plants beyond 200 km can be planned to reduce pollution n heat..

They should make more stations and run slow metro trains which stops at all the stations and then rrts which stops only at selected stations

that is good idea but complex to implement as speed of rrts is very fast as compared to normal ones

They can add other trains in-between this needs intelligent scheduling
I have seen this being done in Paris.
But this should have been kept in mind during design itself

Practically it is not possible to get the speed of rrts or even the high speed of rrts .
bhai socha tou sahi tune optimal use of resources but thodha practically sochna tha . delhi metro ki jou airport express line hai uski speed and infra dekhna almost same hai rrts ki tarah hii . kyuki usme bhi station duur dur banai gai hain

Metro usually takes 1 hr for covering a distance of 35 km although i wish it was a bit faster.
