    The good thing about having a radius at the end of turning a shoulder even just a small one is that it is more of a stress relief then a true corner.

    Mr. Pete, Thanks for all the great informational videos. I'm looking for a mill and wondering how big I really need. I know most people would say buy the largest you can afford, but space limits require me to follow a differant line of thinking.
    Auto and light truck parts would be the heaviest stuff I'd really ever do, what size machine should I be looking at? Could you post a video about machine size related to project size for people like me who are new to this? Thank you, Rick

    @mrpete222 Get one with an adequate table size and RPM range, as well as adequate motor size (HP). I'd say that most people either get Mill/Drill's or Brigeport Milling machines.

    @littlestworkshop Yes, I like that. How do I make a playlist?

    @8Ball414 Look on the Grizzly website. Pick one that yo think you can afford. Then send me the link to evaluate. You will be very sorry if you buy one too small.

    Hi - many thanks for another useful video. Do you have any tips for turning a piece of a given length with a shoulder on each end? I've made my loco axles, but it involved removal from the lathe - measuring - and then removal of excess. Just wondering if you have any tips as I wasn't really happy with how I approached it, it was a little hit and miss. Best wishes.

    This is the largest mill I have looked at so far. Disclaimer: My wife wants a new couch too. 2500 is the very top of my budget right now. Will this get me there, or should I keep saving?

    You can also use a dial gauge as a "stopper" and set it to zero then you know how farther you have to go to control shoulders lenght. I know you know that already, just sayin :)

    Do any manual lathes have an auto stop for power feeding that works off the carriage stop? im thinking something similar to what a Bridgeport has on the X power feed.

    @8Ball414 Thats a perfect machine---but its 5500 dollars.

    I got nervous because it looked like that rule was on top of the compound slide and and would have been smacked by the chuck! hah

    You've disabled comments on your new videos. :( That something you decided on? Oh yeah I like the new saw videos. I run aluminum at about 3400-3500FPM with Lenox blades.

    I like this. I am still yet to successfully turn anything that is to the correct size, doesn't break a tool or have a terrible finish

    You should correct the title; it says "tuning". :)
