@@NotCharAznable Just finished Vesperia and now i'm at 20 hours into Berseria. I can say that Berseria feels very button mashy considering how easy i'm getting by with just throwing random moves. Vesperia's combat to me is much more rewarding once you get the hang of the "clunkiness". I'm only talking about using Velvet and Yuri in this case.

Love this tales series so much for all reason i love it, perfect, from the first female prota, first prota that antagonist look,i mean u r lord of calamity that seek revenge n thirsty for blood, yet u r good ppl, most badass look while she can be cute n beautiful with some costume n hair, lastly, the battle system is very enjoyable even from the start of the game..

Any info would be greatly appreciated, awesome video btw the game look way different when you are playing it!
Rob Lucci I dont really have a specific arte setup per se, I usually switch the moves around alot every time I start playing. if you have any specific questions though id be glad to help you with them.
Rob Lucci the biggest things if you want to kill enemies quickly are weakness chains and stuns. I didnt notice this about the game till later but all damage is boosted during stuns, even mystic artes. so if you hit all an enemies weakpoints and then stun him and mystic arte him, he'll take upwards of 50-100k damage depending. the difference in firing off a mystic arte in stun and out of stun are pretty huge. I also recommend you keep your characters best stun move easy to reach in your first slots. not all stun moves are the same either. for example eizen's fate and coercion both are labled as stun moves, but coercion actually has a much higher stun rate than fate.
Rob Lucci you also have to be careful of moves that naturally have low hitstun. velvets twin whip for example is really bad to use late in a long combo because its hitstun is so low that an enemey can actually walk out mid combo, where as another move they mght not have.

I feel like this is the best combat system in the series Vesperia had crazy combos but required a massive understanding of all the games systems it was hard to get to grips with Zesteria felt alil to spammy and boring in a sence Berseria strikes the balance easy to use difficult to master
msterforks for me personally I just pick what looks cool and doesnt drop the combo by trial and error. as long as an enemy doesnt reflect or nullify what its resistant to, it still staggers and "works" on them. the only rule is dont use moves the enemy is resistant against late in the combo. at that point the stagger it takes will be too small and the combo will drop.
Vũ Minh Nguyễn ah im sorry I move my artes around alot and I dont remember what they were here. a good go to for laphicet though is paper rock - rainbow mist - dark quarter- arctic petals. follow up after the fall over or stun from petals with kaleidos ray.
Vũ Minh Nguyễn for eleanor all you have to remember is have malestrom or shock drum on the first part of one of her arte arangments, or on an L1+X. since eleanor basicly just has hitting moves with nothing really special, anything works as filler. then if you have 4 souls, do arte-arte-arte-arte R2, then as they fall down from aerial strike, use malestrom or shock drum, then arte-arte- mystic. so in total it should look like this, arte-arte-arte-arte-R2-malestrom-arte-arte-mystic
Zero Resistance It's not the point the point is to combo with as many moves and entertain. if u weak point the enemy all your doing is killing it faster which means a lower combo number and it would be boring to watch.

Philly Phil late in the game if you hunt code red enemies they drop potentite that give you bonuses based on how upgraded your gear is. having at least 45+ should give 7 or 8 max souls
Alan Conqvist I really enjoy your combo video, Alan. However I still didn't understand about the souls. I spent around 100 hours for only one walkthrough and finished all side requests(included all 31 code red). Should I play the whole game twice in order to get like 8 or 9 souls? What do you mean by 45+?
lionheart its for show, and non optimal combos are still good damage in this game. going for power hits and chains would of made this video far faster and Iess entertaining. I actually had to use all divides before all of these to make sure the enemies wouldnt die too quickly. thats why in tales of vesperia/xillia/hearts people use minimum damage to show off combos. its for show/fun. sorry about that.

Berseria gas a great combat system but it doesnt require a degree in quantum physics like tales of vesperia both great games tho

Combo is pointless if you're not dealing power hit and chain
