Up here in Northen Norway (Finnmark) its not nessesary sweden we drive to but Finland, like for us living at Eastern Finnmark we drive to Nourgam a tiny little place at the border with like 1 K-market store, Alko and a couple of speciality stores like 2 selling reindeermeat, 1 selling hardware and materials if you need that, there is a petrolstation I think it is, also postoffice, camping and so on ... but thats where we go to do our "Harryhandel" 🙂
Then at summer someone always drive down to sweden to visit IKEA, many do camp in sweden too some do that on a yearly basis so every summer they gather stuff and travel to some campingplaces there.

There’s some other traits or values that are different about Norwegians also. Some would say that modesty is so overdone that it’s a flaw. I know it’s so pervasive that even after 4 generations in the US, I still feel it. If someone asks why they should promote a person, the tendency is to talk up your coworker. Yeh, it’s almost that bad.
Another value or skill is empathy and emotional control. I’ve seen this in action with my Norwegian American mother. She could talk to someone who was being an unreasonable jerk and get them to calm down, reflect on the situation and be good. She could do it in the most gentle way whereas my Dad would be nose to nose with the guy, lol.
Yes, there’s something about being above it all, emotionally so that you maintain your wits but also deal with another person’s emotions in a way that helps them. To know someone who was never angry, even once, is rather amazing.

The value of empahty & emotional control is 100000% Ive seen my norwegian family how they deal something with patience with kids and rude people & I was the one being so mad that I wanted revenge : but norwegians are trained & well disciplined 🫠

SORRY TO DISSAPOINT YOU but you dont get settled for life after marrying a norwegian - you gotta work hard yourself, get a fulltime job, learn the language, adapt the culture and survive the weather to get settled for life except if you marry a billionaire norwegian 😂

As Nicca says, marry a norwegian is not nessesary setting you up for life. There are horror-stories of bad men, there are stories of good men but I know no foreign women who does not 1) want to create something for themself like their own job or 2) work hard to help households.
Despite what I know unfortnatly some people thinks, just because we live in Norway does not mean we don't have bills to pay, our high salary is quickly eaten with many bills.
Its quite normal for both adults working in a norwegian household, very very rarely you have one of the adults staying home.
