  • Aesthetically, no surprises. The Bigster will be similar to the new Duster, at least until the rear door. It will then present differences due to the lengthening of its wheelbase and its rear overhang, the total length being approximately 4.60 m. In terms of design, this will result in a longer door and a specific quarter window. Contrary to what we may have initially thought, this increased size will not allow it to carry seven passengers. Dacia wants to avoid any internal competition with the Jogger. In the passenger compartment, the Bigster will therefore be distinguished from the Duster by its larger rear seats and its more welcoming trunk. On the other hand, these two SUVs will share the same dashboard, equipped with digital instrumentation and a 10-inch touch screen on higher finishes. Wanted to be more upscale, the Bigster could even benefit from it as standard. Like the Jogger and the new Duster, the Bigster will offer a full hybrid version. It will not be the current 140 hp 1.6 Hybrid but the second generation of the “E-Tech Small” system. The 1.6 engine will be replaced by a 1.8 (HR18) Atkinson cycle, while the clutchless dog transmission will be associated with a new axial flow electric motor, developed by the French start-up Whylot and produced by the Renault group. Moreover, according to our sources, this new, more powerful 1.8 Hybrid assembly will be produced in Romania. During its career, the family SUV will also be offered in a 1.8 plug-in hybrid version in order to reduce the manufacturer's CO2 average.
