    For those of you who don't know, there was a time a few years ago when it was possible to own a POS (player owned station) and the solo Eve player was an absolute possibility. The POS could be attacked, though the defenses were pretty nice and if you did receive a war dec, you could either beef up the defenses or take some structures out. You would still lose your POS, but it wouldn't cost you what the current stations do. Also, it was possible to use your POS in many different ways, all in one protected station. It was quite an enjoyable playstyle, and one that I dearly miss. Risk was not gone, it was simply manageable.

      my solution is simple...its called "CORP HOPPING" so when you get a highsec wardec, there is a 24 hr period before they an attack, so you start a new corp and trasfer ownership of all assets to new corp , leave a lonely alpha alt as the ceo of the old corp which now owns nothing and truck on. Search me up in eve, Cephalosa Galactica and General Ichiro Fukamoto, my corp history looks like am a corp thief but its really me corp hopping out of wardecs for 10 years.

    It's worth noting that you can see non-public structures in brackets using the sensor overlay. You don't need to use D-Scan or Probes to see them and fly to them in space. Basically anyone can see these structures in space, no way to hide them.

      They really do need to come up with an upwell structure similar to a POS.

    • @jondoh2226
      @jondoh2226 Před 3 lety

      There are several things I like about the POS system. They are actually scary to be on grid with even if no one is home. They are tucked away on moons, not cluttering space and overview. The ease of just warping into the structure and hanging out in space rather than docking and undocking seems minor but if you do it dozens of times a day it makes a big difference.

    Glad to see you're getting back into structures after the Dital massacre! While I hope you're left alone to pursue this experiment in peace, I'm afraid the very nature of Eve will mean that a wardec will follow shortly. If you ever set up in a wormhole I'm sure there are many many people who'd join you - myself included.

    Great to see you doing industrial stuff again with structures. Hope you have peace and no decs. Edit: I sure wish Eve was more solo friendly. I'd love to come back and play. Once you have a structure you're a target for the griefers, though.

      @The Macker @Zman - & I dont say the following as an insult ok I actually am legit asking, but if you types of players truly wanted to play solo like that.. Why dont you play on the test server? There is absolutely nothing stopping you from going on the test server and playing Eve right now exactly how you want to play it with noone to bother you its literally so carebear friendly that players will literally get perma-banned for shooting at you without your express permission even in null sec! The single semi-logical counterpoint you might have to that would be what, "but on the test server everything in the economy is worthless and unlimited.." Yes! Exactly! What do you think would happen to the Live server's economy had risk been removed from the equation?

      @@SargonOfAmerish Hey Sargon. :) I left before the test server was up for more than a short time and only when CCP gave invites. That's actually tempting because I'm sitting on 60 billion plus and it just didn't make sense to earn more isk because I didn't have anything to spend it on. I don't think anyone is asking for a risk free environment, just a chance to contribute without succumbing to the overwhelming evil that is in the mind of some players. I like your suggestion, assuming someone can actually build up some structures and log in to find them there the next day.

    • @zman_o7
      @zman_o7 Před 3 lety +1

      @@SargonOfAmerish yea right I am going to pay a game $15 a month so I can play on test server. I like small Corp and solo game play and before CCP destroyed small Corp ownership on structures, we had 5 and we were a very profitable small industrial Corp. and enjoyed playing the game and did not mind paying $15 a month for the privilege. To all the elitist griefers left in the game who think their way of playing is the only way to play, it’s all yours now I am done.

    Hey @delonewolf. Coming from somebody who makes a decent amount of his ISK through evictions. I'd heavily suggest against a C1 HS unless you have a good amount of friends. People like me would wait for you to setup and then hit you a few months down the road. You'll wake up to everything reffed and a door stopped static. If you want to minimize the chances of you being evicted I'd suggest moving into something with a LS static or a NS static. C3's might work better for you. Just a suggestion!

  • @Unbiased321
    @Unbiased321 Před 3 lety +2

    @delonewolf I've lived in a C1 and a C2 and please take my advice on this. A C2 with a high sec static and a C3 static is much much better than a C1. With a C2 you only need 4 battleships going back and forth to close the hole so that you either can mine by yourself or get the preferred C3 or high sec static that you want. In a C1, if you don't like your high sec or you want to close holes to mine, you need to have 8-10 Cruisers/battlecruisers that are 62 million mass ships going back and forth to close it. Most likely you won't have that many ships on the field at any given time which means that if you have 4-5 it will take you about at least 10 minutes to close a hole and with 2-3 you're looking at 15-20 min per hole factoring in the polarization. It's very common on any given day in WH space to have 3-4 random connections spawn in your hole. So, in that C1 you could look at more than an hour to close all holes before you can start mining or do what you want to do. C3's also makes a lot more isk if you want to rat in those and with a C2 you can bring a praxis or dommie into in C3 which are cheap ratting ships. If you get a random C3 connection in your C1 you can't bring anything above 62 million mass into it which makes ratting very difficult and costly. If you don't want to rat I would still choose a C2 but then with a C1/HS static so that you increase your chances of having the high sec connection that you want.

    2:50 No need to dscan or probe to find a private structure. I had a mission 1 jump from Yona just 5 minutes ago. I was in my barebone corvette, doing a delivery mission from the career agent in Couster. I decided to take a look at your structure, to see how things were going. All I did to find you was to open the Solar System Map from the Probe Scanner window (Alt+P) . As you were not a single structure in an area, I found you when hovering the mouse over a certain gate. Then right clicked your structure and warped to 100km.
    Now, I just found this trick about 1 week ago as I was paying more attention to the map as I was doing some exploration. We can assume that those who makes wardec a part of their play time does that regularly. You could find a way to bookmark a spot at en extremity of a system where there is nothing 15+AU around and decide to setup your structure thinking no dscan would reach you. But no matter where you are, your structure will still appear in the Solar System Map, without need to scan or probe.

    • @EskaronVokonen
      @EskaronVokonen Před 3 lety

      My bad, just found out you can access the Solar System Map directly (F9). I also see many people mentioning the Sensor Overlay. in the comments. Not sure if that is a different name for the same thing., unless I'm blind I can't find it anywhere Anyway. I'm a noob and was able to find you easily and warp to the structure directly, that was my point.

      And... noob self finally found the Sensor Overlay... It does not show up by default on any of my account though. I had to click the little "burger" menu at the bottom right side of the HUD (Options). Then need to enable the Display Sensor Overlay. I'm now wondering if that was a default enabled feature in the past, and then made an option later.

    I have 5 or 6 structures currently in the game. I've also lost 3 if I recall to other players over the years. I have both HS and LS structures. The one thing I do is anchor them in a holding corp so my main corp doesn't suffer a war dec. Kind of surprisingly, CCP lets you start the holding corp on an alpha and transfer the structure to that corp.

    There is no need to use probes or D-scan to find structures in a system. The Structure Browser neocom tool shows all structures (NPC and Player) in a system/constellation/region (even those you do not have access to) and even allows you to filter by services available.

Given how many people have already seen this video I wouldn't be all too surprised to find your corporation/alliance already under a wardec, but if not I will be contacting the CEO of the owner corp (which I'll assume to be you) with additional info as well as a proposition you will want to consider.
