  • A VRS type wheel speed sensor will typically have a bias voltage riding underneath the AC sign wave. In this video we learn how to use this bias voltage to find opens and shorts in the circuit.

Some of the best memories of my life…Also want to add that I work for the US Navy as a civilian employee in Okinawa Japan from the Pittsburgh area. I love hearing that Pittsburgh accent. It makes me miss home. Watching your videos has helped me so much. The first ten years I worked in cars I didn’t even own a fuel pressure gauge, didn’t care about diagnostic testing much, I did almost everything by guessing. Looking back I’m actually amazed how often it worked. Now I always no for sure what parts I need. I don’t have to be scared I made the wrong call when I order a part on your tax dollars.

Bias voltage tug test is perfect. Used this technique on a very similar situation on 16 Dodge Dart. Funny that the butt connector outlasted the soldered repair. I think it’s sometimes very hard to get a perfect solder on very small gauge wires like abs wires but I still believe a perfect solder repair should last longer than a butt connector. To each their own! Great learning as usual!

      1. I learned how to recognize an engine running from an engine cranking on a hybrid.
      2. I learned why a single cylinder misfire on a hybrid can sound like a bad engine lol crazy
      3. I learned how to ID a shorted M2? (one of the phases of the main electric motor)
      4. I learned more about regenerative braking and that it has nothing to do with the brakes
There was more and that was just from you!

These GM's are bad at the ABS harness flex points going to the front suspension, fixed so many I can't count. They sell the harness for $28 or so last time I did one. Not even worth fixing unless it's past the connector, which is rare.
