Wow this is hilarious. I play drums for this song in my college's pep band and I like the way you approached the song. When I play it I usually match the baseline with the bass drum and keep quarter notes on the low tom or hi-hat to keep the band in time. Snare hops all over the place, sometimes going on beat 4, sometimes matching the band, fills here and there. The rock groove you put over it sounded really good and worked well with the song, and the trombone was too funny.

I thought the live action was pretty good.
I liked the live action. They fleshed out a whole lot more of the characters backstories. Especially Julia and Vicious, who were completely two-dimensional characters in the original. Alas, I fear poor Ed's actor got the shittiest end of the whole thing.
I actually loved the live action but I also saw it as it's own thing too. So there's that perspective.
