Should go for IT or go for Govt job because there is more salary than IT
Worst thing is, these managers and HR not even giving our Variable pay. Worst company HCL made huge profits but didn't gave hikes to everyone other than juniors and freshers.
Work culture in TCS is really becoming toxic from last 1 year...changing policies like toddler changes diaper...not employee friendly anymore...so finally resigned after 5 years.
Finally out of jail
What ?? I'm thinking to join TCS
@@Shubham-Mishra - IF company is paying you good then at EOD pay matters.. Micro management is everywhere and no one stays in single company forever
I resigned a week ago. Fucking gave shit hike and policies like child. Join 9hours strict stupid hrs Don't even reply when needed.
Kyun work from home nhi mila ?
Because saara paisa company leadership hire karne mein udate hai, who just keep asking "why is it not done", "by when it will be done", "we need to solve this" 😂😂
TCS has given only 4.5% hike for B band employees and 80% of the employees fall into this category. 7-8% is just a hype created by these companies via media but the reality is only 10% of the employees receive it.
Somehow I feel IT and BPOs are one of the reasons behind the significant increase in cost of living. House rents are now around 25-50 thousands. It has become extremely difficult for a common man not working in IT to pay that much.
Yes..I completely agree
Just move to a city without IT sector Jobs. Most cities don't have IT sector jobs, right. If you are a mechanical engineer u can easily move to non silicon valley
Completely right, IT growth has made the life of Non-IT people really difficult
@kgf_2030 that means moving away from family, relatives, friends, hometown etc.
house rents?
Pavan, what you are saying about jumping domains is theoretically possible. But practically impossible elsewhere in corporate scenarios for everyone. Doing a simple certification will not mean much, there is a lot of transition that needs to be done, which is not possible unless you get a specific opportunity in that area.
Yes, very true. It's very difficult to upgrade while working. A career gap of a few months may help
We can upgrade and complete certification but still when we look for projects on the same tech stack, we are unluckily not getting. Sometimes even if some resources do not have basics on that particular skill which you completed they might get project luckily and they get hands on and move onnn with good hikes or ctc, but you still revise the topics to refresh and looking for project. This is one side of real time case
@@basics98 you are absolutely right but then need to find some genuine solution. There are some good institutes where you can get some good industrial live projects and can include them in your cv
Last 3 years I had got 15% to 20% hike each year in a product based US company while others have got 4 to 7%. Trick is very simple colleges like IIM A,B,C and most MBA courses in abroad provide very poor quality of education and the managers and leaders are not capable of doing their job, so they will work you extra to hide their in-ability. So as long as you can make their problem go away you will get hike.
IT jobs are limited and reducing day by day due to automation and AI. Companies like Meta, Google, etc are firing very knowledgeable, experienced and skillful employees. So certification and higher education may not be a solution to all the problems. Thinking beyond IT and thinking beyond a job has become necessary.
Wars in Ukraine and middle east is adding to the problem. Moreover, bank interest rates are too high and unless inflation comes down to 4% the job market won't change much.
Life will not be simple going forward. Take a deep breath and accept the reality.
If you open a tea stall don't be surprised if your manager has theirs next to yours.
Frustrulley
Even managers dont have control over hike. Budget allocation resides with HRs and even high performers get just 5%.
So who would want to work twice better just to get 2% extra hike.
If you work hard, you will learn more and it would help you in the long run. You will be last person to be laid off during recession within your team. Last but not the least, you could get promoted much sooner than average perfomers
@@Rn45634I will go to shop and tell I work hard in my company, I hope they would reduce price of commodities
I worked for 17 years, got promotions, did not get laid off. But IT service companies don't lay off people like Tech cos.
My last year's promotion hike was approx. 6%. Regular hikes are 3-5% in IT for managers. Not worth it.
The only thing that raised my salary was company switch. Which is the best option to get great raises. Learn and switch.
We cant support family with 5% hikes.
@@nayan.j If you don't work efficiently, you won't survive in the job for long. Then where is the money to buy the commodities from the shop
@@nayan.j don't work for company, work for yourself and gain knowledge, that will stay with you for long run.
It's due to high availability of resources for a job in an organisation..simple reason..😅😅
Just use the internet to self-educate and self-experiment yourselves on a variety of academic, creative, skills-based, business, political, and athletic fields to become a polymath.
Hi Pavan, I have gone thru this. Your vlog hit the nail on the head. However just like to add, I followed your "things to do" but it only resulted in layoff. Now I am working on transition to AI
It’s not only TCS, the trend is same in Cognizant as well
I have done next level prospects certification.. yet they are not giving opportunity in other teams..this in very popular MNC company.
Inshort they are not releasing from current project after 19 months
We are selling AI and Data Science courses right now. Very soon there will be many people with these skills and the market will again get saturated. It is all demand and supply equation. Unfortunately there is a huge supply, hence more competition and wage stagnation
No possibly, we will have mediocre people.we don't have real time ai, ml projects that indian companies can boast of. Awareness or getting orientation on ai,ml will.not help
I agree. We need expertise not awareness
@@srinivasankrishnamoorthy6220well said. Getting expertise on AI, DS is not everyone's cup of tea. It really needs deep knowledge in statistics, programming and many more. Awareness is just a baby step
@@PavanSathiraju the goalpost keeps on increasing every time. Yesterday's advanced skills becomes tomorrow's basic skills. It's sad. It's sad. It's just the world for people who owns the assets/capital.
Even by doing side hustle like freelancing is also not getting very hard these days, no clients are ready to spend, hey Pavan please suggest some ideas to overcome this challenges...
My svp told me that due to dollar appreciation even the hike given to Indian employees is budget neutral
Great analysis on the dynamics of salary hikes! It’s crucial for employees to actively engage in conversations about performance and growth opportunities, especially in sectors like AI and sustainability that are poised for rapid expansion.
Very good points on nepotism in mncs , however more openly the overlap could have been defined, mostly language and region and sometimes even religion
This country really needs proper implementation of labour law...then ye mf corporate companies ko akla aayegi
Its perfect analysis. BTW how do you know that?
My company has not paid hikes for last two years
Which company?
The real mantra is go for switch fro time to time, IT job has lost its hoopla long time back
I got only 3.5% salary hike this year. I'm in a service based company and I was atleast expecting a 10% hike.
In TCS, few people are yet to get their compensation letters. It seems that levels from C3B and above are yet to get it. I'm not sure how true it is. Can any C3B and above employee confirm this?
C2B got their letters last month.
Its a matter of skill set . Incompetent people will faill any field. Intelligent n dedicated people will excel any field whether its agriculture or IT , will be successful n prosperous.
Aap IT sector ki baat kar rahe ho, Civil Engineers ki toh halat bahut hi jyada kharab hai private sector mein
IT is the most stressful place where real silent hard working nerds are constantly kept down and people who waste time and are good speakers are prioritised
50/50 yes
Atleast they got a hike😢
Guys all this tips of sending status won’t help . Unless you are satisfying your manager’s ego
Nowadays only way to get hike over the inflation rate is to keep switching
This is the same story across the globe...
I am getting 0 and few my teammates are getting 1 , 1.5 and max 2%
Do you work in which company?
TCS is failed give quarterly bonus to its employees And still largest IT company in asia!!! TCS work policy has 2 distinct divisions. One owner class and the worker class. Its similar like what we used to see in tea, jute, real estate worker. They work on daily wage and they are not permanent, they keep changing every now and then but owners don't bother as they consider them as labours without face name performance. Owner don't care if they stay leave or die.. That's the model TCS and other IT companies have chosen.

It easy to make a video and give advice but practically it’s far away from reality.. if you send email every month you will be in bad books of manager and by hook or crook he will kick out you from process
Simply companies doing cost cutting.... due to not getting new projects..
1.2%
True
I don't think it is any major problem because IT sector also hike 50% salary when it goes through good time. IT sector salary much better than any other sector in India
IT people are cribbing about such hikes. Us sarkari people don't even get 5% increment
Hcl also hike is similar
I got 46% hike...... Lucky 😀

@@mayankyadav7 PS: Example and data are not related. Data on inflation is a general feeling, while example is how that feeling came out. Are you okay now sir?
If 30 became 50, it means inflation has been 66.66%, not 20%.

we are already overpopulated so please understand
Not really. Everything is getting more efficient and automated . Companies are hiring less people to do more and more work. And also paying lesser and lesser every year.

If you are underpaid, it's your fault. Winners train, losers complain. How can you expect a company with 6,00,00 headcount provide a double digit hike. Even during this recession period, TCS never laid off anyone. There are internal exams in TCS like Wings 1, Wings2 and Wings 3. You can appear for those exams, if you want to upgrade your salary. If you don't think TCS is the right company for you then develop the right skills and switch to your dream company/start your own company.
