- Today's guitar is an absolute beauty, and a wonderful player too - a 1961 Gibson ES-125 TDC! Loaded with P90s in a thin hollowbody design and topped off with a Bigsby system, you've got great tonal options to work with in a smaller package than a standard size Gibson archtop, and the beautiful sunburst finish is a nice cherry on top. Trevor is here to give you the run-down on the gear before we have our own Skyler Mehal plugging this excellent instrument into a 1961 Fender Tremolux with a twist - it came from the factory with a single 12" speaker in the cabinet!
For more information on the guitar or amp, please give us a call as these are both new arrivals in our shop!

Those are some of the best sounds that I’ve heard in a while.
I had a 1963. It was a gorgeous guitar, but needed some work which I could not afford; so I traded it to B&G Guitars for an original Little Sister, which is also a stunner! Tremolux amps are quite the deal ... The smallest piggy back amp Fender ever made, and came with 5881's and a much smaller cab than a Bandmaster and 35 watts of power.
One of my all time favourite guitars ……but they gotta be pre 65 with the wider nut width….nice guitar….I don’t see it in stock yet ….
Gorgeous example!
Beautiful look to these guitars ... but plywood block at neck heel.
WOW F ING BRIGHT
Nice guitar 😍🤩❣
I keep hearing the term "overwound single coil" in reference to the P90. How can it be "overwound" when there's no reference to measure it against?
Overwound in comparison to an average kind of single coil like you would find in something like a Strat or Telecaster. That’s the reference; basically every other non P90 single coil.
@@darwinsaye Thanks! But the P90 was there (1946) before the Tele and Strat pickups (1950/1954) so I'd rather call the fender pickups "underwound" compared to a P90. There was no reference pickup in the latter half of the 1940s that would qualify a P90 as "overwound".
@@MrDotneck I see where you’re coming from now. I think that when people say it’s “overwound” they are just speaking from a contemporary context, compared to other current single coils, rather than suggesting that it was an overwound single coil when it was new.
@@darwinsaye Yes - that makes sense.
That sounds crap. The amp I think.
