Ah, the golden age of gritty, serious and realistic shooter games, such a shame the gaming industry doesn’t like these anymore
Not to rag on it much but fortnite caused alot of this mess. Everyone looks at that game and thinks their game needs to be colorful and silly. Everything is battlepass, meaningless crossovers, etc etc

If we are talking about gritty, serious, and realistic shooters, I'd love a Far Cry 2 sequel. It was a bit repetitive, but playing with a realism mod and not fast travelling and also not quicksaving brought a wonderful and immersive Africa to me. Enemies were smart, guns felt powerful, and the fire is unmatched to this day.
It's a shame that these kinds of games aren't being made anymore.

You'll quickly realize that this likens the game more to L4D. L4D has every survivor be as important as the other, eith each having the same basic abilities. The game is literally all about knowledge, skill and teamwork.
The problem is that PDTH didn't have the inherent reply value that L4D offered through the complex director, and team dynamics are MUCH more lax (cloakers are the only real teamwork check).
PD2 went in the appropriate direction. PDTH is still valuable in it's own way, but it's not proof that relying on RPG elements (when they're done PROPERLY) is bad for a game.

It shows that payday can feel very tactical without the shitty pd3 armor
Yeah had they tweaked the system a bit and made something more polished it could’ve been salvaged, but at this point where they’ve given us the adaptive armor they might as well take us back to OG armor with longer downtimes or something unique, to still keep it tense. Idk, not a game dev but want to see improvements.
PAYDAY: The Heist is a forever classic. It is a game among the best 4 player co-op experiences out there. Even if PD2 outshines it in content and sheer replayability, PD:TH is a game that was absolutely nailed by the developers.
Then we have PAYDAY 3 which has no soul, no content, no character, but it was more expensive to make. Games this era just keep dissapointing. It's also completely unimagineable why PD3 released in the underdeveloped state it did. Almir claims Deep Silver and Plaion had nothing to do with it and they were very supportive, so then the only reason is that Starbreeze intentionally made the decision to release it unfinished, which they would have known because even a full on idiot would see that.

There's gotta be a discord or something that runs lobbies. If not try getting on it at "peak" hours. It is an older game and everyone would rather play 2, but I bet you could find some!

I wouldnt really know, but the best I can say is try hours where all the younger people are out of school and when the adults are hone from work. Peak hours for an older game will almost never be in the middle of the day

payday the heist also used the diesel engine. overkill used it because it was their own engine and theyve worked with it before lol

Nothing is wrong. Everyone has their own opinion and that's alright. Does Payday 2 have more content? Obviously. But some people like the "simplicity" of Payday 1. And some of the best Heists come from Payday 1, like the one in the video. Everything is a give & take, and everyone has an opinion. Only thing that is a straight fact is 1 & 2 are lightyears better than 3

@@YumariYatasukaI disagree 2 is way to easy and the bulldozer is a joke compared to 1 in 1 if you aren't paying attention you'll get surrounded easily with a slim chance of escaping and the dozer is a one man wrecking crew in 1

it took some people 13 years to realize that pdth is actually a masterpiece of coop gaming and it took payday 2 with it's bloated state and payday 3 in it's miserable state to come to this conclusion of pdth being the best

Probably not, (If the worlds stayed connected and wasnt a single crossover heist) I'd think they most likely thought the outbreak would blow over, so they stayed together to try to find their own way instead of risking it

I never got to experience this game at launch since I didn’t have a pc or ps3. However seeing this game on CZcams got me hooked immediately and I ended up playing payday 2 since it was released. It’s a shame what payday 3 came out to be.
unpopular opinion: valve is LITERALLY never going to release half life 3 because there’s no way on earth that the launch goes well and that everything blows everyones mind especially after like 20 years or so, if hl3 ever happens (which i doubt) there’s 100% gonna be videos like this one that say “why play half life 3 when you can play half life 1”

Half life alyx as a game was like a spin off movie nobody asked.
Same happens with Metro too while Metro series was mostly same. I think story and how you tie them more important. For example, in Metro 2033 you are more about survival and exploring but in second game, Last light you would be questioning life and unnatural events around you while trying to survive. Some people prefer first game over second, some people prefer second over first.
All 3 Metro games are peak. Ngl

rn i'm away from home at a summer job and when available i play on my gaming laptop ( planning to get the money for pc at the job)and instead of playing payday 3 i mostly play payday the heist and payday 2

Honestly although payday TH has some better heists, I do personally think payday 3 is better overall as I have more fun with 3. Also I personally am not a fan of a lot of the heists in payday TH
We all have our opinions & I respect yours. I'll agree that certain Heists in PD3 have their moments, to me pd3 is just a bit bland & a step down from pd2. I think I said it in another comment but it's a give & take. Each game in the series has its own pros & cons

why does every single piece of media that "returns to the roots" is nowhere near the roots and always dogshit? I'm not even talking about aesthetics and whatever (though it's dogshit too), pd3 is simply not fun, it's not fun to play, it punishes you for playing the game, it punishes you for trying to have fun, that's not fucking difficulty that's dogshit
payday the heist is difficult but you have ways to go around it, you have strats, decision making, your performance is dependant on your skill as a player, not on attrition-based zero-fun-allowing systems
as you play you learn about the game, what to do and what not to do, that's what a good game should be like, it's a power fantasy but you have to earn it

I mean hold out objectives aint that bad but this one is just confusing to me. Also yeah if payday 3 somehow manages to bring back one of those intresting heosts with intresting objectives and interactive maps then ill think about buying it in the future. but for now ill stick to pd 2 and its endless mods and custom heists...

That still doesn't change much brotha. Of course the newer game that allows more people to play together will have more players on it. Plus the age of the game does factor in as well. Either way, to me Pd1 & 2 are just better than 3 bc of my personal opinions, if you like 3 or anyone else likes 3, that's good, no judgment from me 😁 I just like seeing people enjoy whatever it is they are playing
