Danica McKellar became a child star on the iconic television series, "The Wonder Years." Her famous kiss with onscreen paramour Kevin Arnold showed once and for all what it looks like "when a man loves a woman." Danica continues to act in movies and TV, but now devotes more of her time to writing math textbooks targeted at teenage girls. Her goal? To make math fun. And to help girls feel confident about doing math.

Although I won't watch 'The Wonder Years' anymore- it's only because I've probably seen all of the episodes... 10 times over. I love you, Dannica. I love Winnie, too- still.
Same thing. I could barely cope with 2+2 until the beginning of the 3rd form (ages 13-14) when my new maths teacher started drawing little curves and tiny straight lines on the blackboard. That was the beginning of calculus, and click! suddenly everything started making sense. We all deserve at least one maths teacher who's competent/genius.
I love math even though I suck at it I still don't shy away from it.
Finally a beautiful actress with brain not only the look.

Middle school... definitely an important junction in Math. Way to pinpoint it! And yeah, Math is way better with imaginative ways to visualize it. Try describing factoring with a vacuum cleaner... oh yeah, then Math does suck.

seriously? That's a pitty... Laplace Transform is really a beautiful/abstract/powerful method in Math. Maybe the way it was presented to you wasnt the best.

I disagree with you. Math does indeed suck. Never got the hang of algebra let alone any of the more advanced stuff. Even though I was supposed to have had an aptitude for math and science. So yeah math really does suck.
Most math teachers suck. Most math teachers want to teach something else, like P.E., but they squeaked out a math minor to help them get a job teaching... BECAUSE SCHOOLS ARE DYING for math and science teachers...
...with the hope they'd be the obvious choice when "old coach Dave" retired!!!
