I am a recent graduate of BMT and Tech school for Security Forces in the Air Force. I have been getting more into the teachings of Islam and I am thinking of converting from Christianity. I do not plan on re-enlisting because of what is going on in Palestine. May Allah (SWT) protect and give ease to the people of Gaza and Palestine! Israel will not be victorious whether it be now or in the hereafter, they will pay for their crimes. Ameen.

The sister talked about the muslim mayors that we get excited over that.but remember they are not killing any muslims on the other hand American soldiers have done what cannot be imagined and we have seen those visuals in different parts.American soldier acts on the decisions of politicans of whom we know how they are.

That's because there are not much Muslim men and women in the American military, if there are more Muslims in the military then the atrocity rates will significantly go down. And how about Muslim military of Muslim countries committing atrocities in another Muslim countries and at times in their own countries such as Yemen Somalia how Pakistani soldiers committed atrocities in formerly East Pakistan now Bangladesh, that pales to the atrocities committed by US military abroad.

You said it yourself, US soldiers act on the decision of politicians. Proving my point that WE ALL play a part. Also, I am not killing anyone, Muslim or not, and to make an assumption of such caliber on a Muslim brother or sister is wrong. Finally, the military during Muhammad Ali’s time and the military of today are two very different militaries; the first no longer exists.

The soldiers who committed war crimes in iraq mostly get a way with it, in few cases they had to go to prison even then those sentence were light of the were pardoned. In contrast to people who are still siting in prison without a court decision

Absolutely disagree with you, it's in the Koran to obey the law of the land, and each Muslim citizen of a non Muslim country must join the military to defend his or her homeland, your homeland is your homeland, no Muslim country is going to give you citizenship for just being Muslim, look at the suffering Syrian refugees, rich Muslim countries like Saudi Qatar UAE Kuqait Oman Bahrain they are not giving them residence permit but they are drowning in seas to reach Europe and Germany had accepted a bulk of them. Besides you have to prove your fellow country men that they can trust you, live with you so you have to fight together with them when it comes to that. Even tomorrow if Saudi attacks America you got to fight with all other Americans to defend your land, that's real Islam.
There are many Muslims in the military, her answer is spot on, we live in this country we have to defend it. Certainly we don't agree with everything the military does, but we're obligated to defend our country. Enlisting in the military is a good choice or option for Muslims. We can't look at America from the outside in otherwise we marginalize ourselves by not getting involved. We can complain but if don't get involved, nothing will change. It was reported that a man asked the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him): “A man who fights for the sake of booty, a man who fights for the sake of fame and a man who fights for the sake of status - which of them is fighting for the sake of Allaah?” The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The one who fights so that the word of Allaah will be supreme is the one who is fighting for the sake of Allaah.” (Agreed upon, from the hadeeth of Abu Moosa al-Ash’ari, may Allaah be pleased with him). (Al-Bukhaari, 3/206; Muslim, 3/1512-1513).

Completely disagree with her. This is where representation politics gets outs of hand when we focus too much on seeing people like us in positions of power and forget our actual values and the livelihood of our Muslim brothers and sisters overseas. Do you really think the Muslims we are bombing overseas are happy knowing that at least there are some Muslims dropping it. Her whole idea of if it’s not me, it’s someone else is completely idiotic, the whole point is that it’s NOT YOU participating in the military that has consistently destabilized countries in the Middle East and has shown to target innocent Muslims. Even you are a Muslim of a non Muslim country's military she orvhe must fight for her country even if it takes to kill you.
