- Hi everyone! Welcome back to the Rainbow Extravaganza for 2020! In this video, I'm making the new Rainbow Peach Sea Salt Soaps!
I'm only making one video per soap for this Rainbow Extravaganza. Some will be long and chatty like this one but most will be short and sweet. Thanks for watching!
Every day that we get closer to this release, it is looking like August 6th will be the date that we release the products from the Rainbow Extravaganza. I just don't think we can make July 30th since that is this coming Thursday. I am still making accompanying products. Stay tuned to our social media accounts to stay up to date.

Why doesn’t your video have a recipe and supply list? This video is not a tutorial.
How do I get started in soapmaking? Start off by researching. Educate and then experiment. Be sure to follow all proper safety precautions. A great starting place is the beginner cold process soapmaking series by SoapQueenTV here on CZcams. You can then purchase all the supplies you need at Bramble Berry. Lovin Soap Studio also has a beginner series on CZcams.
Why don't you share your cold process soap recipe? Our recipe is proprietary. We are contractually obligated to keep our recipe a secret. I do occasionally share a test recipe. I highly recommend Bramble Berry, Lovin' Soap, and The Nerdy Farm Wife for free recipes. Those resources are a great starting point and then you can tweak your favorite recipe to make it your own.
Where do you buy your oils? We purchase our oils in bulk at Soapers Choice, Wholesale Supplies Plus, and Sam's Club.
Where did you buy your molds? My husband builds all my wood molds. My silicone molds are from various suppliers.
Where did you buy your soap planer? My husband built the soap planer for me.
Where did you buy your soap cutter? We purchased our soap cutter at Bud’s Woodshop.
Where did you buy your soap loaf splitter? Our loaf splitter was purchased from Smith Creek Studio.
Where do you buy your soaping containers? My pitchers are from School Masters and my large plastic containers are from Webstaurant Store.
Where do you buy your fragrance oils? We purchase our oils from many different suppliers. We don’t have a one-stop-shop for all of our oils. We blend the majority of the fragrances we work with.
Where do you buy your colors? We buy our colors at Bramble Berry, Nurture Soap, and Mad Micas.
Where do you buy your coconut milk? I was buying So Delicious Organic Coconut Milk on Amazon but I think you all bought them out! Ha! I now buy Native Forest Organic Coconut Milk. Please don't buy them out. I need coconut milk. lol
Where do you buy your soap boxes? We usually buy our boxes from Wholesale Supplies Plus or Elements Bath and Body.
How do you design and print your labels? I use Adobe Photoshop to design my labels. I use full sheet labels and print with our HP Laser Jet Pro printer.
Where do you buy your packaging materials? We buy our packaging materials at various suppliers including Paper Mart, ULine, Nashville Wraps, Eco Enclose, and Amazon.
Do you give classes? No, I do not offer classes. However, if you need help, leave me a comment and I’ll see what I can do.
Why are the comments disabled on your older videos? Due to some very negative, hateful, and vile comments, I am no longer allowing commenting on older videos. The older videos seem to be the ones targeted. Newer videos may have approved comments for a time. I welcome decent, respectful comments.

Holly if you are a messy soaper then I am the messiest ever. Sometime in the middle of creating I have dribbles all over the table and bowls everywhere! Heck I stained the table yesterday, but I ordered a new table a few weeks ago anyway!
Thank you Pam! Haha, I can get pretty wild sometimes, especially off camera. That is why it is so funny that people think I'm messy on camera. LOL
You can get precut parchment paper to fit the full sheet pan that you are using. Any restaurant supply store or probably Uline should have it. I am a retired chef and now make soap! I bought tons of parchment and it is what I line my trays for soaping now. Also, peach scent doesn't sell well for me, I have no idea why because it is a lovely scent.

Nice bars, although I'm not a salt bar person, it dries my skin out, I prefer sugar scrubs, but they came out very nice Holly. Don't worry about being a messy soaper, they make the best soaps, just like a messy cook makes the best food 🙂. Beautiful job and I thought the same thing, that fruit loops would have been perfect. You can get the fruit loops fragrance oil and it has absolutely no vanilla or vanillin. The flash points are usually 200° and there fragrances are the same price across the board. Go to Aromatic-Apothecary Supplies. I have never ever had a soap cease on my or accelerate trace. I only use them. They are fabulous!

Sams club sells full pan parchment paper sheets that are pre-cut specifically to fit that size of pan. They're very convenient for lining pans.

I was just looking up sea salt soaps yesterday so great timing. Sadly, I cannot stand the smell of peach and just the thought of the scent makes me queasy. This will be the one soap from the Rainbow Extravaganza that I'll have to skip I think.

Love a good sea salt soap. I'm positive, like everything you endeavour to do, that they are awesome. I love the smell of peach myself. Actually peaches and nectarines are my favorite fruit. Followed by strawberries. I wish Georgia peach fragrance stuck better in cp soap, I love that fragrance so much! I use it in my body butters, but have tried it in cp with varied results, it did best in my clay soap. I guess the clay helped it anchor better, but it's still not a strong scent. Cheers to some awesome sea salt bars!

Peach is one of my favorite scents. I love southern peach from BB. I live in SC and we are famous for our peaches. Georgia is called the peach state but South Carolina has the best peaches.

As liners, I buy rolls of butcher paper. One side has a shine and you cut to the size you need it. Cheers

Thank you for always being such an inspiration Holly! I'm not sure how large your sheet trays are but I've found that precut parchment paper from Webstaurant (Baker's Mark 16" x 24") are an almost perfect fit

This is such a fun soap! I don't think you're very messy at all, way cleaner than I would be lol. You talked about not knowing if your soap saponified, do you prefer that they do and does it make a difference if it does?
I think you're talking about her not being sure if it gelled, since all lye soap has to go thru saponification 💜

Use puppy pads to cover trays. Dollar store has a couple of sizes.
Try end rolls of newsprint. You can get them cheap from your local newspaper

Love you videos Holly!! We had the same issue trying to find paper towels for a while for our racks. I switched to these. So much cheaper and easier. I get mine from Webstaurant Store Online but you can also find them on Amazon.

Hi Holly, I am just wondering if the high superfat has any negative side effects on the bar? I know he salt will help harden the bar, so I am not particularly worried about firmness, but would the soap go rancid quicker with such a high superfat? I am really intrigued and want to try a 100% coconut oil soap but the level of superfat required to be non-drying has me a tad concerned. Is the worst that would happen is Dreaded Orange Spots?
It's really a balance that works well. The coconut is much too drying so it must be countered with a higher super fat. A super fat of 15-20% is the most common for these types of bars. lovinsoap.com/2015/09/how-to-formulate-soap-salt-bars/

I line my aluminum trays with contact paper (sticky vinyl paper). I’ve only had to replace on a single tray after a disaster 😂.

They probably would. Unfortunately, I have 60 trays to cover. Haha.

The salt cubes on the top were cut from smaller, colored salt soap batches.
