  • Witness the story of America's premier rifle manufacturer as you've never seen it before. This documentary follows Weatherby from its inception 75 years ago to the present. Sharing both the highs and the lows of a brand whose name is synonymous with quality. From a poor tenant farmer in Kansas who moved to California in search of the American Dream, all the way to 3rd generation in a state of the art facility in the wild west of Wyoming.
We are Weatherby and this is our story.

I am long since retired, but worked as a Gunsmith with Weatherby in 2001 under Greg, the then gun shop manager. I was trained by Arnie and John (God rest both their gentle souls) in Atascadero in the warranty/service department, and later became the lead warranty/service gunsmith in Paso Robles. Also lending a hand when called upon in the Custom department. I was, and have always been proud to be a Weatherby employee. Good luck Adam and family, and God bless on the next 75-years... ^~^

I bought my 1st Weatherby in 1986 and went to Weatherbys store on Firestone Blvd in 1987. I was blown away had a photo of me and Roy's polar bear, the 7th largest polar bear taken at the time. I just bought my 3rd Weatherby proudly and have loved Weatherby rifles and shotguns since the 1st day I ever saw one. Fantastic video and beautiful family tree. The best of success in Wyoming.

What a fantastic family success story! I have a much deeper appreciation and understanding of the family aspect of Weatherby after watching this! I also love history, and seeing all of the old photos and videos is a great tribute to the development of Weatherby thru the years. The naming of the Camilla rifle brought a tear to my eye too, for the commitment and honor it represented. And for the innovation Weatherby is known for, while maintaining its tradition, quality and integrity. Kudos to Adam and his wonderful wife, and the whole Weatherby organization, in its new home in Wyoming! God’s country! Consider me a Weatherby family member for life, for the products you make, and what you stand for. Thank You!

I grew up near Weatherby (I grew up in Walnut Park) and I remember riding my bicycle past the store and stopping to look in at the trophys on the wall. My father was a gunsmith and I had a great interest in firearms and hunting even at that young age. I now have a sporterized Mauser chambered for .300 Weatherby. It was built many years ago by a gunsmith here in N. Idaho as far as I know. Roy was one of the best. He will long be remembered.

How on earth could anyone give this video a thumbs down... phenomenal video, story, company and family. Sure was hard to retire my grandfathers old German Mark V 300 after a bulge was discovered near the barrel end (magna ported years ago) along with numerous cracks throughout the stock on the inside. I will undoubtedly own another someday.

I bought my first Weatherby Mark V 300 Mag in 1975 and I have shot a lot of game with it over the last 45 years. I also own a 1979 Weatherby Vanguard in .270 Win and a 2020 Weatherby Vanguard Meat Eater. With the Meat Eater 6.5-300 I broke it in with WBY factory ammo, at 100 yards, (Barnes 127 grain LRX-BT, BC= .468) at the start of break-in I was shooting 3 shot groups of .980". After 40 rounds I was down to .610" and I was fully broke in at 60 rounds with groups of .610 MOA. Since then I have been getting 3 shot groups at 100 yards of .540". I am very pleased with all of my Weatherby's and am in love with the 6.5-300. I am 79 years old and I shoot out to 1,500 yards with this Vanguard that cost a fraction of the cost of my other Long Range rifles.

I have been lucky enough to go to the original Weatherby shop many times. First in the early 60s we would go to eat at the pancake house next to the Weatherby plant in South Gate CA I had my grandfather take me over to look at the mounts in the show room. Then later in the 90s I went to the Weatherby showroom and purchased my Ultra Mark in 340 Weatherby mag.

My father bought me a weatherby (224) when I was 12 . He ( my father) was a weatherby fan, in fact he was one of a few to have a weatherby east of the Mississippi.back in the day . that 224 kept the ground hogs at bay on the farm. Now being retired and years of shooting I own every weatherby caliber out there.. My children and grandchildren all have weatherbys. My favorite the 7 mm. My only regret was that I never had a chance to meet Roy Weatherby..Great story ! A company started by one out of the greatest generation..

What a great video. I had an opportunity to get a gently used Weatherby Vanguard in 300 Weatherby MAG. I told the man behind the counter what I was looking for. I wanted a Magnum caliber rifle that I could use for whitetail, and a possible future big game hunt out west. After seeing what seemed an endless sea of rifles I chose the Vanguard. Not only was it the best bang for the buck, but the beautiful wood stock is what set it apart. They don't make rifles like they use to. In a sea of synthetic stocks the Weatherby stood out. Glad to be a part of the family with this rifle.
