I am definitely interested in the story of matt tolbot. Number one I'm from Dublin number two i have serious issues with substance abuse for twenty plus years now. I would love to believe in his story but I really believe that poor matt simply replaced one addiction/Compulsion for another. God bless matt tolbot.
He definitely replaced his dependence on alcohol (a “lower power,” so to speak) with a dependence on a power greater than himself-a Higher Power. Have faith, clean house and help others, my friend. Miracles happen every day. May God bless you and keep you in the palm of his hand.
Religious conversions are real, I went through one back in April 2019. I came to a stage in my life where i was sick of the life i was living so i called out to God that If he was real then to come into my life and change it. Slowly but surely as the weeks and months went by my mind and heart began to change to what i now know to have been a spiritual awakening, a conversion to the lord. Like the bible says "you will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart"
I agree with you. I don’t believe any god/higher power wants us to harm ourselves, and that is what he was doing with the chains, the hard bed, and not eating. This is not a healthy view of spirituality or recovery, and I can say that with 19 years sober. I hope you find the peace and love you deserve
@@JHabcbut all of this was pure joy to him in the Spirit not in the flesh. I'm an ex monastic. I know. This was the sweet way of ascetical endeavour leading to union with God. The sacrifice of love.
When I became a Christian and learnt how God wants us to live, I realised that I couldn't keep drinking to excess, and smoking. I developed a very strong desire to give up these substances and that's really important I believe. You need a really strong motivation, like a woman who discovers she's pregnant for example. I asked God to help me give up smoking and to give me the strength to persevere in quitting, and I was able to quit. I did all I could do at my end. I got info from the quit line, and I bought a nicotine inhaler just in case, but I rarely needed it. I asked God for help in giving up drinking some years later, and I knew that he would help me, as it was so unhealthy for me, and he'd helped me to quit smoking. I don't believe anything supernatural happened, no miracles, but this is how God helps us. He gives us the strength to get thru really difficult things.
I know I am very late in finding this video, but I just want to thank you for sharing it. Such an inspiring story and a true testament to the changes God can make in people's lives. God bless you ❤

Ho sognato mio suocero qualche anno fa, era una macchia nera, indefinita. Gli avevo dato Qualke messa santa. Queste tare passano in eredità. Prego la Madonna che scioglie i nodi
