recently my son 2 years had a accident and me and my husband had doctors telling us the same thing your parents where told . as a mother i was devastated and turned to any internet source and all i could find was depressing or sad stories on being a quadriplegic . well we are now in rehab he has return in his arms just learning how to use them and same with his legs . he can sit but still needs more work on his back so he can be able to sit more straight ,he's a strong boy and he keeps proving doctors wrong .that being said today i found my self looking for quad stories and recovery etc and i came across your videos ,thank you because allot of the scary things running through my head and thoughts of my son not being able to be ok because of this injury was completely blocked out with seeing how your living life and not letting the injury bring you down . thank you so much for the hope and please continue posting videos they're very much appreciated . mrs.vaifale #domdomsmom
I always hesitate to write comments in English, because I might sound like a toddler, but I have to, because I am so happy I just found this new video: Wow, Christopher, it´s so great to have/see you back here on CZcams ! (CZcams didn´t show me this new video, although the bell - of course - is activated :( ! ) I kept looking for an update the past six month, hoping you are alright and maybe found a new flat ! We don´t have hurricanes here in Germany ( I just own one, because one of the German wheelchair-companies named one of their (basketball-)wheelchairs "Hurricane" :) ), so I can´t really imagine how this must be like ... To me, a huge thunderstorm is enough to be "scared" as long as I am outside - and I was pretty horrified, listening to all the facts you had to deal with, in your last video ... And I was angry as f..., that this had happened to you, as you mentioned, that this is the second time, you won´t be able to come back to your own home - and this home was just perfect the way it was ... ! Could you/they save some more things ? I kept in mind, you talked about your art(work) that might be ruined as well ... I hope you had at least to most of luck possible in this situation, and got a lot of your belongings back !? I would love to see some of your art on this channel, if it´s okay with you ! If it´s not the right time for such a request, sorry, I didn´t mean to be rude ! I´m looking forward to every new video ! And I still think, you should decide to write a book, because I never heard anyone (non of the paras I know in person for the last 26 years, since I started to play wheelchair-basketball in 1992 + especially non of the boys (!) and not in public) talking so incredibly honest - even about unpleasant stuff - neither if there were just other wheelers around ! That´s why I think, you are an awsome guy :) ! I don´t know what it is like in the US, but if there is a series/soap/movie on German tv, someone with a SCI takes part - of course non of them is diagnosed as incomplete, because this would be way to confusing for the audience - 99% of those characters are "healed in a miraculous way" at the end of the story ... Even in stories for kids around 3-6 years ... ! I really hate this, because even most adults believe this could be true ... Like all wheelchair-users are just to lazy to walk - they just have to workout harder and do more physical-therapy or just have to have a surgery to be able to walk again. And, of course, spinal cord injury is just about walking, no other issues involved ... and, somebody who just moved his arm, can´t be a quadriplegic, only paraplegics move their arms ... Sometimes even newspapers write ridiculous things, like someone with a spinal cord injury is always "paralyzed from the waist down", even if this person broke his neck. Or even worse, they thnk/tell, somebody who broke his neck can´t be alive anymore and lots of other bulls... like this ! Oops, I should stop writing now, this chouldn´t be my first novel :) ... ! All the best and lots of Love from Germany ! PS. I am glad, you chose to eat your eggs - you did a great job cracking them !
