Excellent post, brother. I noticed that you were asking why the vanilla note in a library theme, well it turns out that ink on the paper after many many years emanates a really nice aroma of vanilla. Chemical reaction of sort. So, there you go… 😊 keep on rocking
I hadn't realised Whispers in the Library had been canned. What a shame, it's a lovely fragrance, and one I bought when everyone else seemed to be gravitating towards By the Fireplace (which I just don't like). Thankfully my bottle is still quite full, so I'll just have to eke it out as long as possible.

I'd really like to see Atelier Cologne brand back in Sephora here in the US. Oh well. 😢 I still have a bottle of Vanille Insensee, so I can't complain too much
I'm also searching for a few of these. I've actually just found Plum Japonais and several other discontinued Tom Ford scents (London, Eau de Vert Boheme, Lys Fume, Azure Lime, Champaca Absolute, etc) on a site called Beauty Overlords. I've never purchased from them before so not sure about their authenticity. Hope someone on this thread can weigh in on their experience with the site.

I stocked up on Whispers in the Library and Matcha Meditation as soon as I heard that they were on their way out. WITL is my favorite woody vanilla.
I jumped when you featured the Comme des garçons 3... I had a couple bottles of that back in the day and I absolutely loved it! Have not seen it anywhere for years..... :(

Whispers in the Library is a recent discovery for me and an instant favorite. I always seem to fall in love with fragrances that are 95% unavailable!! Although I have found some access at reasonable prices. And Yes, I am gatekeeping! 😂
I used to always buy 2 back up bottles of the new Amen flankers and some Thierry Mugler womens releases and I am ao glad I still own a bottle of Pure Tonka. Another amazing discontinued fragrwnce would be Sahara Noir by Tom Ford

Heed his warning re: Oud Infini! I dodged that stinky bullet by buying a sample. I tried it a few times but only because I like other Dusita creations like La Rhapsodie Noire. Someone said Oud Infini was like smelling dung through silk stocking, which seemed accurate (and not something I would sign up for).
I've also noticed Ateliers Cologne has completely disappeared from all the retailers I usually frequent in Dubai.
I hopped into this topic midway through, so maybe this was already covered. But I really miss Vera Wang For Men. It had a really great clean fresh scent that was long lasting.
I am now going to be looking out for all of these. GUERLAIN TONKA IMPERIALE 2010 I will be looking for.

I loved Madam Trussardi's Skin for many years... discontinued sadly a while ago... and I am sorry that L'Artisan's Caporal is no longer available either.

@@tmonique11 I've never heard of that site so I can't say. I do hope it's legit. I have Champaca Absolute, I like that one. I would also like to find London. Azure Lime has been relauched. I've smelled that, it's nice but not worth the exorbitant TF price.
I have both bottles of Feminite du Bois -Shiseido and the Luten's version. I'm sad that I can't find Serge Luten's Iris Silver Mist anywhere. I put in a notification on Serge Luten's website hope it shows up. It may be in Paris but I think they discontinued it. 😕
Bois Blond by Pierre Guillaume was a real gem for me, one of my favorite perfume but discontinued and I can't find it anywhere!! 😪

Still not over the sad disappearance of Mugler Cologne. I mean the OG green one, lately renamed and rebottled as Mugler Cologne "Come Together"

Re MMM Whispers in the Library: where does the vanilla come from? Exactly. Are the book pages made of vanilla? Not a well conceived replication. One of the few Replicas I passed on.

Sunshine Man has been discontinued. It was one of Amouage's best, but it's no longer on their website. I'm not part of the Cult of Christopher Chong, but I have to say that their new offerings are boring compared to what they used to be. The acquisition by L'oreal doesn't bode well for the brand either. It's now clear the new guy was brought in to make the brand look more profitible with an eye to selling to an investor. So sad.
