I’m from the PNW, specifically where it rains a ton, if I dont drive my car for a few days and it’s been raining, the rotors rust but there’s literally no difference besides a slight noise when you first brake, I live on a hill and usually have to use the brakes immediately after I put my car in drive, and they always work just as they should.

Ok just to replace 4 discs(the ones he's cleaning) and 4 brakes metals (sorry don't know the correct terms) by the mechanic I would spend 600€ replacing them by myself 280€. And that doesn't mean I'm risking my life because it either brakes or not, can't have another state😂

Can imagine the unevenness of the discs and rotors after this.
If the brake rust wont come off after driving for a little bit with stop and go, you probably have something else wrong like stuck calibers, guide pins or something that is preventing the pads from squeezing your rotors.

What a complete waste of time. Every time you drive the car the rust will naturally be worn off on the disc surfaces. The rotor drums then that’s fair enough, though you still left them unprotected so a few weeks later it’ll be back to rust central all over again.
