    This is GREAT!! Thank you so much. We are coming to visit in a couple of days with plans to relocate next summer. I woke up today thinking I have to order Colones from our bank before traveling, but I guess we won’t do that now. Thank you for the VERY helpful tips…..!!!

    Thanks so much for your videos. I just subscribed today and I find them super helpful. Especially this video. I’m coming to Samara beach from Canada in 2 weeks and traveling solo for the first time. So I’m excited and nervous all at the same time but watching some of these videos gives me some great tips!
    Thank you😁

    Thank for this information. I let myself be dragged into a store on San Jose to buy a pair of shorts. I continued to ask the salesperson, "How much? as she continued to show me shorts that might fit me. She would not answer. I tried on three pairs of shorts before I finally found one that would fit. At checkout, they finally gave me the price in Colones. I did not seem right, so I did my calculations and discovered the price was $ 27. I was not looking for luxury, and in Mexico or the US where I am from, I expect to pay about $10 I left the store and apoligized to have wasted their time.
    If the salesperson had told me the price when I first asked, she would not have had to waste so much time.

    I am so glad I found your channel! What do you use to find what the exchange is for the day?
    I have been researching since June and am moving to the guanacaste area in April! I have visited a few times in 2022 😊
    I plan on renting first then want to have a home like yours, land, animals, gardening ect!
    I follow a bunch of channels and I love yours!

      Welcome! I usually use Google, but each business can change what they choose for their exchange rate so it's always good to ask.

    We love your videos! 😄❤ I’m not sure if you have done a video on it, but since you guys are on the tourist visa, do you still file your taxes as you would in the United States?

      Thanks so much for watching! 😄 No video on that topic, but it's definitely a great idea. Simple answer = yes, we file Taxes in the United States still because part of my income (online music teaching) comes from the U.S. Hope that helps!

    I would like the public to know what is the maximum money that can be taken from the ATM in Costa Rica?
    And which is the best bank to open an account?
    What are the requirements for a foreigner to open an account in Costa Rica?

    • @thejoyfuljohnsons
      @thejoyfuljohnsons  Před 5 měsíci

      That all depends on which bank ATM that you use. There are several here (Banco BCR is usually the one we prefer). I have taken out as much as 500,000 colones in one transaction, but it also depends on how much cash is available at that moment in that particular ATM. It IS possible for a foreigner to open an account with a Costa Rican bank, although it requires a lot of paperwork and patience.

    Is there any bargaining possible when shopping in Costa Rica like in Mexico?

      Sometimes, it never hurts to ask! Just depends on the vendor.

    Any Indian community in Costa rica

      @thejoyfuljohnsons  Před 9 měsíci

      I am sure there is, particularly in the San José Province. Here where I live, I have not seen a specific Indian community. We have a beautiful mix of people from many nationalities here in Guanacaste!
