You can see it from your camera on your phone set to night mode
You can see them very lightly with naked eyes but using night mode phone camera helps to see them in full beauty
Further north, the sky was a hint of a tint of purple. With a stratus band. The cell phone pics came out bright deep red!!

I didn't see a thing last night. It was so clear during the day but the fog rolled in by nightfall.
I looked up last night about 10:30 PM but only saw a crescent moon. Will try again tonight!
if you don't wanna miss it, be careful of one thing - in urban and suburban areas, light pollution can make them harder to see.

Just remember that it is the indigenous people of Norway, the Sami, who own the northern lights. So if you see it, it would be nice if you pay the fee to the Sami. The easiest way is to contact the Sami embassy in New York to book an appointment to pay the fee.

@@isaiahtatum You mean own the "rights" to it like the Grand Canyon? The norhtern lights is a natural formation just like the Grand Canyon but with the difference that it is in the sky. If you wan't to visit / see it you should pay the fee.

I live in Reno and I had no idea this happened even though I was up till 1 in the morning. How did I miss this? Could I have seen them from here? I’m not sure because I haven’t seen reports on my local tv channels yet 😂
