Arbor Warden changes how you play Titan. I found myself playing the "standard way" at times and it got me in trouble. However, once I committed to the loop the sky was the limit. You can do things you with this exotic that you simply can't without it. A game changer that can catch a lot off guard. Definitely, PvP focused.

I LOVE this exotic. I think it can make big plays in trials as well. What do you think?
If this is counted as a Grenade, I'm guessing Classy Contender doesn't help?
To get the Barrinade, you use your class ability first. After the animation plays out, your class ability energy is consumed and your grenade becomes the Barrinade.
If you use the thruster it gives you the towering barricade and its a faster charge time then both barricades.
Im impressed by your guns, that SMG is gorgous looking .

I wish we got more exotics like this, that actually change your playstyle and gameplay loop drastically. That afford creativity.
Honestly, we just can't. It's impossible to create exotics like this even more than once a year. Try designing an exotic and you'll find yourself thinking, wait that breaks x or doesn't work with y. It's hard to design a game
If we could that’d be great, but that’s just not realistic there is many many reasons they dont do stuff like this often
Don’t listen to the people that they it’s impossible . It literally is not . Bungie is a 3 billion dollar company with Sony money and eververse money. If bungie actually wanted to make destiny more unique and interesting and make builds that actually changes your gameplay , they could . They just don’t because it has been shown that the addicts pay for low effort as much as they pay for alot of effort . So they don’t bother .
You can make a similar exotic for Warlocks that turn either your rift into a rift grenade, or charge your healing nade to become a rift nade
It’s not a matter of if they can pay for more exotics like this, dude.
It’s a balance issue, not a budgetary one.
If you use the thrusters it still gives you a barricade. And its the towering barricade too. Its so much better to run this since its a shorter cooldown.

This is one of the most beautiful exotics that Bungie has ever made
Love how unique the exotic is, wish it had an interaction with thruster where it pushes an enemy or gives you and allies in the radius speed booster or something
I do like how it gets the same cd as thruster, making it faster than standard barricade.
Or if you double tap input you thrust, but if you hold it, you make the barrinade. Would be cool to be able to use both
AoE amplified would be pretty cool but it might be a bit too strong that people would end up just exclusively using that one. You and your nearby teammates get to push faster and activate their arc builds sooner.

I love the flowers on this chest piece, it’s a really pretty exotic.
I love that they only bloom when the nade is active
My favorite is throwing it right in front of someone who just scored heavy ammo for their rocket and they shoot it in front of themselves by accident.
I absolutely LOVE using tbis exotic. There is no greater joy than throwing a towering barricade into a sniper alley and letting your entire team push.
Even in PvE I've been finding tons of places where I like being able to completely cut off a sight line from a distance. It gives the user so much zone control that I really don't want to take this exotic off in most content. It's a major hit for me!
Can we all agree the animation for this exotic is the best way to tell you that your exotic is doing something? Visually telling you that your Exotic is doing something is great
As a warlock main, this exotic made me play titan more in the crucible. The way you interact with your class ability and grenade is so nice.
I wish Warlock could actually do more interesting things with their rifts, instead of poping it and hoping the enemy plays into you.

You are absolutely correct on its playstyle being different from the usual regarding barricade useage. The zone control aspect & gap closing potential is insane.

I love this exotic. Only gripe is that I can't grapple while holding the barrinade. It would be so sick to fly in and throw your barricade to block a sightline

I've actually enjoyed it in pve. It's like and extra suspend nade and throwing void shields rally barricades at teammates who are about to be over run is great. See 2 points that need addressing, 1 with a teammate who's struggling for cover, just pop it. Send the nade to the ally and you clear the other one, everybody lives and wins. Makes me wish the solar, arc, and stasis barricades can do something so I can make better use of it there.
Stasis barricade is unfortunately taken up by hoarfrost, BUT it does let you remotely shatter crystals since barricades insta shatter crystals.
It would have been nice to have some form of Bombardiers effect with this exotic alongside barrinade. Even with every point in this video i dont see this exotic being of any consequence to play with or against.

I wish every subclass actually had an effect for the barricade like void has overshield and strand has tangle so that this was great on every subclass. Hoarfrost Z should’ve just been a different barrier on stasis instead of an exotic, Solar could have a sunspot on barrier cast instead of on Loreley, and Arc could have a short pulse of arc damage for a bit.
Seriously love all the attention to detail of the exotic in this review. It’s really fun when someone points out details when they’re intriguing.
I always wished Vesper of Radius on warlock let you do similar; it replaced your rift with the ability to throw a nade that that places your rift where it lands, followed by emanating a series of massive shockwaves. Would be great for pushing up to a teammates rez in Trials or a Grandmaster for example.

A really great and unique exotic, allows for very good creativity and unexpected playstyles. I made a build with this involving "irregular grenades."
Arbor Warden (suspending barrinade)

Forerunner (halo frag)
Primaries with well-rounded will proc on any of these, btw. Big stat boosts to your weapons.
Btw, fragments that give class ability energy (you'd mentioned being unsure about that fragment killing scorched targets for class ability energy) will work for the standard charge because it sits in the class ability slot.
So youre basically giving yourself two suspending grenades while still having more damaging grenades... how is that better than just Abeyant Leap with Forerunner and Shackle grenade though? Or Armamentarium and Foretunner, and now you have 3 sources of suspend and an exploding grenade? Youre also giving up tons of easy Woven Mail by not running Abeyant.

i look up for these videos because there's always something new to learn, but for the first time i am using this exotic exactly the way you describe it
also, my only "problem" with this exotic is that it doesn't burn enemies at impact
Than you for wtaching. For this one, I didn't get through them all, but I am sure there are more things. Specifically, kickstart and perks involving greande or class ability. There isn't to say that one will work when they shouldn't.

I have been using this exotic with strand and it is so fun. you have crazy thread of ascent uptime, you can chain it 3 times theoretically (barricade, grapple, barricade again). Managing the cooldowns is like a fun minigame.
I wish having arc dodge equipped with this would throw down a speed booster or something like the one vauban has innwarframe
It throws down the large barricade when you equid the thrusters.

Imagine have speed nade with full team of strand grapple. In pvp you would over take the enemy way to quickly.
And for pve i dont see it doing much,but giving you amp.

If it's coded as an ability then you can have surplus x3 easily even if you use your normal grenade, you don't have to wait your grenade cooldown just the barricade one
Love that playing this with strand activates Thread of Ascent on barricade throw as well as grapple/shackle etc.
Was waiting for this vid! This exotic is so sick glad i got it day one of the season! Perfect for Strand and Void, Thread of Ascent pairs perfectly getting those stat bumps from chucking the Bari-nade it also opens up ypur grenade slot for PvP so you don't have to run Shackle. Void is fantastic too but i find myself still running Crest of Aplha Lupi if i wanna support my team. Overall this is exotic easily became one of my fav PvP exotics instantly.
Also dont forget that with bastion barricades when you use them you get an insta full overshield. From what i seen from the gameplay this seems to apply whether you are near it or not, at the very least you could use it like a ghetto version of icefalls by tossing it anywhere

Well rounded works with this making the new taken 120 hc pretty consistent for a void primary.

My favorite exotic in ages. This will be glued to my titan in PvP for quite some time. So refreshing to play a different way.
I saw another video showcasing this. When the barri-nade lands near enemies it applies a slowing effect on them.

Personally been loving this exotic with void, using bastion and rally barricades so that I can hold the barri-nade and throw it when sliding into fights to get the over shield on demand.
I really wish we had a mode that lets us combine exotic armor. This exotic + Leap + Kepri + Citan would make for the ultimate meme build.
Realistically there is absolutely no reason for leap and Khepri to be different exotics. Both are OK but not amazing.

@@A1Strider sure there is. Adding scorch on Strand makes no sense. So they didnt put it on the dedicated Strand exotic just Hoarftost Z does not also create sunspots or grant void overshields, because its dedicated for stasis.

I like that this essentially turns your barricade into a shackle nade with an added bonus
In pve you can use it like a blinding grenade as well. Use rally barricade, throw it right at a group of enemies and their all stunned, pretty good for when you have a hydra or ogre that can’t be dealt with immediately, just chuck the barri-nade at it and shut it up for a couple seconds to close the gap or do something else. This exotic is fantastic.
I almost vaulted this before I started getting into the play style. Very fun.

Real fun synergy, you can through a barrinade at a glacier wall to pop crystals all at once from a distance.
Ive had the same play style since vanilla D1, keep it that way so no matter how long of a PVP break i take, i could shake off the rust quick, this exotic single handedly changed all of that and i am all for it
Love this thing. It's easily my favorite titan exotic in quite a while.
One thing I don't like is that when you chuck the barrinade off a wall, it doesn't change directions like a thermite grenade would - it'll just shoot the suspend right into the wall.
Use this with strand and Jotunn in PvP if you want to be evil
Note: The barrinade animation doesn't happen when you use Jotunn, so it's ready instantly
The only thing that feels clunky about it is that the ball animation can't animation cancel other animations like reloads, so pressing the class ability button while reloading does nothing.
I’ve used to to push two titans off a cap point who already has their barricades down. Had I not been able to throw it on the point and then push up, we probably would’ve lost the round. It’s great for plays like that, especially on void
This exotic is like a whole new aspect to play around, except that it is not even locked to a single subclass, which is awesome for experimenting. Hope we get more of those for the other two classes.

I don't know this seems good on paper but I rather use any other exotic this just feels like a do a thing exotic but that's just my opinion and I understand people can be really good at PVP and make this work
Its main feature is safely casting a barricade at a distance, which is a strong use.
But mileage for individuals may vary like you said. Like is this exotic good?-Yes but is a safer barricade more useful than faster cooldown? Double grenades? Faster movement? More sunspots? Shield while sliding? Etc etc.
I think you provided the best argument against this exotic.
Jw and idk if I might have missed a physics interaction but does the grenade go off when it hits a wall/ceiling and does the barricade pop up on that surface or does it simply fall to the ground and pop a regular barricade?
Been using it to pair with well rounded and thread of ascent, makes targeted redaction not feel terrible to use
i think we need more fun exotics like this. i understand having a functional exotic but having fun with something is more important to me than functionality.

Punching the grenade and throwing it turning it into a barricade is the most titan thing I’ve seen in a while.
I want this to use with glaives in pvp. You can throw them to close the distance alot safer and gets you at least into shooting range if not melee range with good barrinade positioning

Been using this ever since it came it. Everyone was calling it trash and I already knew once someone was going to make a video on it was going to be popular. Went flawless in trials first week with it and people didn’t know what was going on. Already did animation cancel and everything. Funny how it works.

theres an extra utility in this where you can throw the barricade behind someone so they can't backpedal without becoming 1HP and shotgun rush them. forcing them to either stay in place or push back. which they will lose.
Curious to see what happens when you have this and forerunners the rock grenade. Not sure which would take priority and if the other would just poof or still be there after

Love this so much, since this exotic gives the Guardian Games weapons a reason to exist, making the class ability get back a bit earlier with kills/assists. Love the synergy it has with Strand in particular, making a constant stream of Tangles as you slowly push each encounter, using your barri-nade to mark an advancement. I did a RoN run with it, and it helped a lot with the barrier colossus in the second encounter, allowing me to suspend them for my teamates while I ran, disabling what typically is the run-killer of that encounter (other than the jump-pads)
This exotic literally made me a titan main (hunters don't have anything unique or good anymore, so I've been moving away from them), giving me a very unique playstyle that I'm still trying to adapt to high-end content. Most I'm getting at right now is Master Nightfalls, but I'm gonna master the ultimate Fortnite-Destiny crossover!
This gives me an idea for a Void Titan build that may be a menace. Bastion and Offensive Bulwark for Aspects, use Void Wall Grenades in tandem with the Barri-nade to control space and Vexcalibur to dominate up close. That seems like it'd be an absolute nightmare to deal with as an SMG player and there are a lot of those right now

Does the strand fragment that gives grenade energy when you do damage charge the barrinade? Since the other thing doesn't work for class skill as it's coded as a grenade. Made me wonder.

I think my favorite funsies build currently is to run this, strand/void, and the Forerunner to have a sort of “bag of tricks” grenadier playstyle.

this could have a synergy with cloudstrike if you pop someone up with the barricade from a distance you can get an easy headshot that can get a teamwipe in trials
Has anyone tried pairing this with the forerunner? Curious to see if you can get a triple or possible quadruple "grenade" build (with lightning nades). I don't have the forerunner catalyst done yet so I can't test it.

Just throwing this out there. Suppressor and flash bang grenades are bugged with barricades atm, and will pass through them. Block door way, flash/suppress through barrinade, push. Strong but niche 👍
Question: does it give the damage resist regular barricade casting does? Also, I gotta say, I wouldn't use this on void. The best part of bastion is the instant overshield, which you won't get if you throw the barricade away from you.
Then throw it right in front of you and activate the overshield even faster than without.

Big fan of void Arbor Warden coupled with Navigator. See a blueberry losing a fight across the map? Give 'em a free overshield and woven mail, now they're invincible!
My reading of the perk was that you cast your CA, and that charges the barrinade move, which could then be thrown; giving you two barricades on the field at once in one cycle. Kinda disappointing that thats not the case. "Free second casting of your CA would be OP" some might say. Hunters have both 6th Coyote and Radiant Dance Machines. "Dodges dont create a wall for you" they might argue back. But on Strand, they can create a decoy now which in turn spawns threadlings when destroyed. Also, Warlocks have exotics lime Promethium Spur and The Stag to give them more instances of their CA.
So the fact that this is _only_ a throwable barricade which *replaces* your normal casting of it instead of adding to it, kinda takes the wind out if my sails. No extra void overshield refreshing, as I was hoping on Sentinel. And Berserker's barricade basically just becomes a slightly more accessible version of The Wanderer with slightly different execution.
The fact that it works with Demolitionist for an extra reload is nice...but Armamentarium and enhanced Lightning Grenades also exist for that; and those dont add an extra animation to get through.
So what this does for Sentinel in pve now is allow you to set your bastion barricades up ahead of you as I wanted; but its a little more innitial work to get that rolling. And instead of alernating between Bastion and Barrinade, its just all Barrinade animations all the time. So its extra steps whenever you want a barricade right where you are at. But it will still allow you to refresh your fireteam's overshields as you progress down the field...its just a bit clunkier about it than I was imagining. And you wont be able to as fluidly barricade yourself, then fortify another position remotely where an ally is.
If it didn’t replace your grenade ability I’d be more open to it. The idea of being able to run grapple and still have a suspension grenade was cool. Or throw a glacier and then a barricade to shatter it

??? It doesn’t replace your grenade ability though? You. An literally see it in the video. There are people who have used it as a way to quick shatter glacier grenades with it.

It’s like gunpowder gambit. When you activate it, it overrides your grenade input. Meaning you’d have to throw a glacier, activate it, then throw it.
I havent even played enough across the last 2 seasons to get to 1800. When i do ill try to farm this and see. Thanks for the cool video

Part of me wishes that the stasis barricade was an aspect or citans was an aspect to be able to pair with this kephris the list goes on, but that’s probably for the best, I definitely can forsee this making yr barricade have less health in pvp when thrown if it becomes an issue
That's fine, Citans' are dead anyway in PvP and PvE. Literally trash tier now from its previous S-A Tier.

As a hunter main I'm super jealous of the creativity in the Titan exotic this season (but, like, in a good way cuz I'm genuinely happy for y'all. And creative/good exotics like this are only a good thing! Even if I am a bit jealous 😉)
