CD Peacock got sued by a former employee for this practice. Of course, she didn't have any evidence and the case got dismissed. But I'm fairly convinced this is a common practice. Get Rolex, take stickers off, walk it out of the showroom, sell it back as used.

The jeweller where I’ve bought and serviced watches from other brands is also a Rolex AD. A few weeks ago, after picking up a vintage watch I brought in for service, I asked to see the Rolex watches. I was promptly told that nothing in their display cases was for sale (there were only sparse examples of some sports models) and when I asked, feigning ignorance, if they have wait lists, I was admonished about the volume of people who inquire about Rolex and was basically shown the door. I’m a customer of the store with purchase history. Insane.

I’m honestly so tired of the constant bitching whining and crying from so many people about the ADs and flippers like a little talk here and there is cool but there is more to watches then a Rolex AD I remember a time when people bought watches off dealer or a jeweler and were content but now with social media every single person who’s into watches thinks they deserve to get in any piece from an AD as they wish. Being one single of the countless thousands who come in and only demand hyped pieces but they claim to be watcher lovers and enthusiasts Lol and then also have no purchase history that’s why you guys can’t get anything so were y’all ever really into watches?? it seems like the Rolex A.D.‘s are just really good at reading people.
