Hey there, It's difficult to imagine that the 3-headed blade will be much different from the 4-headed blade. However, we've never used it so wouldn't be able to provide personal input. I would say that it's worth buying just the 4-headed blade and seeing if it works for you for use on your face, and if it's just too much, then go ahead and buy the 3-headed blade.
I've tried while in the shower with shaving cream to use the newest fourhead one After shaving my head and then tempted to go down my face and it cut me three different places on my neck and I've never cut myself except once with a original safety razor😂
